Summary:

If the Batarians had known there were not one but two N7 marines on shore leave on Elysium, they might have thought twice before launching the Blitz…

lark Grissom sat on the seat silently, gazing down at the space port below. The public transport the Alliance had arranged for him when they’d sent him on his assigned leave rocked and vibrated as it descended towards the docking bay. Briefly, he wondered if the ship would hold up under the natural forces working upon the archaic vessel, which predated the first contact war by at least a year, if not more. The ship touched down, jostled by the docking clamps. Clark’s seat shook violently beneath him. He groaned softly as his head smacked into the roof of the transport. Sometimes, there were benefits to being 6’3”. Other times, there were considerable drawbacks. He sat in his seat, waiting for enough of the other passengers to leave the ship for him to exit the aisle. Once off the ship, he slung his bag over his shoulder and made his way over to the rapid transit station and input his destination, paying the fare and jumping in the shuttle.

After a quick trip, he jumped out of the shuttle, and made his way into the lobby of the hotel. He walked calmly up to the front desk. A pretty Redhead with freckles glanced up with a smile. “Just a moment sir”. He nodded, waiting for her to finish whatever she was doing. She finished her task and glanced up. “How can I help you sir?” She asked with a smile. Clark tapped his Omnitool, providing her his ID.

“I have a room booked. Clark Grissom”. She nodded and scanned the database.

“Yes sir. I have it here. Third floor.  Room five. Enjoy your stay with us, Lieutenant Grissom”.

“Thanks”. He made his way upstairs, nodding to the beautiful blonde he passed briefly in the hall as he made his way to his room. He opened the door and walked inside, dropping his bag at the foot of the bed and looked around, before nodding to himself. If he had to go on leave, this wasn’t a terrible place to do it, he decided, as he made his way out onto the balcony.

Alexandra stepped out of her room and locked the door, tying her hair into a bun as she made her way into the hall. She smiled politely at the tall dark haired man as he moved to one side for her to pass. He nodded in her direction as they passed each other in different directions. As she entered the elevator to go down to do some shopping and maybe find a shooting range, she wondered if he had brought his N7 hoodie at a vendor, or come by it honestly. It looked more authentic than the average replica, and he was certainly fit and big enough. These days though, it didn’t mean anything.

The elevator doors swung open, and she stepped out into the lobby, waving to Cassie as she stepped out into the sunlight and made her way towards the colony markets.
