Chapter Text
There’s a bloody cut
on your gums,
a split lip like a post card:
wish you were here.
He’s not there,
didn’t even leave a note, and
though he never took up too much space,
you feel his absence like a void.
He’s gone like the sun disappeared
instead of setting, and the sky
never turned that pink-red-pink.
You miss the view from your bedroom,
and his hair on your pillow.
And maybe you punched yourself
just to remember what it felt like
to taste blood on your lips.
But your knuckles are sore, and
what’s the point of a split lip if
there’s no one to kiss it wide open?
