Twisting the front of the goldish door handle open, I feel the coldness of the handle creep up on my hand making me shiver from the touch, before letting it go to make my way inside the house before I hear it, a loud sound drawing my attention to it - the sound seemed to be coming from the centre of the room from the TV
A sound I’ve never heard before until now, it was a new type of laughter that wasn’t my friends who were sitting on the couch facing away from the front of the door
As I slowly make my way to them I see it, a person with dark black hair wearing a straw hat just barely visible from the top of the screen that was barely poking out of the top of the couch
It was a miracle that I could even see the top of the head of the person from the TV from where I was
As I was slowly make my way to where I was standing. I tightened the grip I had on my camera that was swinging around my neck, before I turned to the side of the couch
“Hey Estelle, Ethan!” I say while standing on the left side of the couch, and raising my right hand to wave at them
“Woah! Mari you finally here, only took you 1 hour for you to get here” A boy said sarcastically
The boy had dark black messy hair that looked like a nest at the moment. He was wearing darkish purple hoodie, poking out of the hoodie laid the top of a white shirt
With navy blue shorts that had two white lines running down the side of the shorts scoring down his legs reaching just an inch below his knees
Looks like Ethan found his purple hoodie that he told us that he lost, good for him
Laughing a bit before replying to him
“Yeah sorry about guys” I say while trying to give my best impression that I was just a tad bit sorry, it seems to work as Ethan face relax a bit before smiling at me
I hear a soft laugh behind Ethan and I see a girl with light blonde hair laughing because smiling at me
She was wearing a light pink dress that had bits of white on it, I must say it looks really nice on her
“It’s ok Mari no hard feelings promise, ok now sit down!” Estelle says while panting down to the left side of her, to where a space had been left of me
Making my way to the spot they left of me, I plot myself down before playing with my camera
“Oh by the way” I say while my eyes never leaving the photos I took my camera, but I could feel their attention on me again as I spoke again
“What’s the show you guys are now watching?” I say finally looking up from the camera in my hands to face the TV
“Oh that!” I hear Estelle voice get loud with excitement, which in turn makes my ears hurt a bit with how loud she was
“Ah, sorry for shouting in your ear like that Mari” She throws a quick apology before continuing
“It’s just a new show we’re watching, it’s about a boy wanting to become the King of the Pirates” Estelle explains before I see a hand pop up from the side of Estelle
“That’s him! His name is Luffy or Monkey D Luffy is his full name, but whatever is fine Mari!” I look to the TV and see the boy that Ethan was pointing towards, and realise it was same head of the person I saw coming in
The boy, or Luffy I guess? Was wearing a red vest with light yellowish gold buttons on which connected the vest together. He was also wearing light blue short on which had white strip around the bottom of the shorts
Looking down on his feet were two sandals, before making my way up to his head to see the dark black hair and straw hat I first saw
“Huh, that’s cool” I say and feeling their excitement grow even more, I can already tell that Ethan is grinning the most widest smile right now
“I know right Mari!” Ethan shouted, looking from the corner of my eye I see him grinning - ha I knew Ethan would be grinning like an idiot right now
“So the show name is One Piece, and it’s about this boy wanting to become King of the pirates! But Estelle already said that, so here’s what we know so far!” And like that Ethan went on a tangent about the show One Piece, with Estelle saying bits and pieces here and there
If I’m being honest I didn’t get one thing from what both what Ethan and Estelle were saying, but hey at least their having fun with it so I’m happy about that - but knowing them they will probably drop the show in a month or week, or so I guess

I was so wrong about them dropping the show, Ethan and Estelle have been watching this show called One Piece for 2 months now! Like woah, that’s longer than anything else they have watched, also apparently this show has 100+ episodes so I’m going to be so surprised if they ever finish it
“Hey Mari?” Ethan says while smacking lightly over my head, drawing my attention to him, I look up from my camera - I was sitting on the floor today, mainly because all the stuff on the couch
“Ouch Ethan, you hurt my heart!” I reply with a joking tone before laughing and letting Ethan continue
“That didn’t even hurt and you know that Mari!” Ethan shouted back at me but just low enough to not make my ears hurt
“So what was it you want to ask again Ethan?”
I see his face scrunch up like he was in deep thought, actually maybe he was? Before he’s mouth opened again to talk to me
“Well I just wanted to ask if you have anyone you like so far in the show!”
I began to think to myself, do I have anyone I like so far? If I’m being honest I’m not even watching the show - only bits and pieces of it anytime I come over to Estelle house, so I have no idea what is even remotely going on in the show
Like last time I was at her house they met a huge whale(?) - I think it was a whale anyways, I should probably ask maybe
But right now the straw hat kid (think he’s name was Luffy or something) and his crew are now at this snowy island as of right now, no idea why they're there, but it looks fun so whatever you know!
“Maybe the duck?” I say to Ethan, I mean ducks are my favourite animal so it’s not a surprise that I picked it. I mean like look at it! This duck has a little hat and bag plus let’s not forget it’s cup that the duck drinks out of, It's so cute!
“Haha! I knew you would have picked Karoo, just seem so like you to pick a duck or anything duck related, Hah!” Ethan started laughing after, like full on laughing - a bit of water coming out of his eyes, holding his stomach in, his breathing becoming more jagged the more he laughs
It was the kind of laugh of when it starts you can’t stop no matter what
“Oh shut up Ethan!” I yelled back at him, I could already feel my face getting more warm, bet I looked like a blushing embarrassing mess right now - Ethan took one good look at my face and started laughing even harder now, I was so close to punching the living lights out of him at that moment
That was until a smell came from Estelle kitchen, it was a smell I knew that get me hungry for more if I couldn’t take more without throwing up, the only type of food I knew so far I could eat again and again without feeling sick
“ESTELLE PANCAKES!” Me and Ethan shout in unison before racing to the kitchen to take a bite of it, and completely forgetting the conversation we just had
“WOAH! Hey hey hey, now there’s enough for everybody” Estelle said while laughing a bit at us
While in the rush to get her pancakes me and Ethan kinda crashed into each other making both of us fall face first into the ground, and ouch it hurts a lot
Having wood burn into your face and body as you slide into it, is not a feeling I like much - I mean does anyone like that feeling? If they do, man you should get that check out
“Yup noted Estelle” Say while looking up from having my face planted into the wood floor, Estelle just starts laughing at our misery - betrayal at its finest right there one of my own best friends laughing at me on the ground, mutiny is that first word that comes to mind when I see Estelle laughing at me and Ethan
I guess the one good thing is that I don’t have my camera on me right now. I’m so glad I left it near the couch, I think I may have put it on the couch? Maybe not, well that’s a thing I’m going to have to deal with later
I quickly hear some muffled sounds coming beside me as I look to my right and see Ethan is still face down in the ground. I quickly reposition myself so I’m sitting up and not lying face down before interrupting Ethan in whatever exactly he is doing
“So you're going to say whatever you just said to us or the floor again?” I said sarcastically to him while rolling my eyes a bit
“Yeah it’s a bit dumb to say what you need to say to floor if you’re going to speak to us Ethan” I hear Estelle say that in a joking tone before grabbing the pancakes on the kitchen counter and putting on the floor in front of us
“Wait!” I say while looking at the pancakes in front of me, the shape of it looked different - it wasn’t a round circle like any normal pancake Estelle had made before it kinda looked in the face of a hat, farmer's hat maybe? No that wasn’t the answer, didn’t feel right
I looked at it a bit more, it kinda looks really familiar like I had seen it before, it wasn’t a farmer's hat, so what was it? Then it clicked
“Hey isn’t this shape of the straw hat that kid in the show you’re watching, Luffy right?” In response I just get a small laugh from Estelle before she is filling her face with the pancakes before I could get a popper answer from her
“Woah! Look, it is Luffy’s hat! That’s so cool Estelle, how'd you do that?” Seeing Ethan eyes light up like stars when he realises he looks like Luffy hat. Guess I was right about the hat thingy, and I also glad to see that Ethan decided that being a worm on the ground was not cut out for him and was now sitting up right, instead of lying on the ground
“Yeah it’s supposed to be in the shape of his hat!” I hear Estelle say with a face of pancakes in her mouth still
“Swallow before you speak Estelle, you’re always going on about manners anyways” I say while having a smug look on my face, well that smugness was soon my down fall as the next words came falling out of her mouth
“Yeah yeah I know Mari, but did you guys do the homework yet?” Estelle asked us with a sinister smile on her face, it was so quiet after she had spoke those words, well other then the TV playing in the background it was quiet as mouse before Ethan yelled
“RUN!” And like that me and Ethan were running like our like department on it, because it did at the moment

Then Estelle died, Ethan found her body in the bathtub of her house bleeding out in the water, it wasn’t really the same after Estelle death but hey at least I still had Ethan!
Me and Ethan got in a fight two days before he had to move country, I don’t even remember what we fought about. Me and Ethan were too heated in the moment and we both said a bunch of stuff that we shouldn’t have, I think it was about Estelle death? But like I said, don’t really remember what we both said
I still said goodbye to Ethan the day he left, I mean what kind of friend if I didn’t? The mood of it was still awkward because of the fight a few days ago, so it wasn’t really a proper goodbye in my opinion
Life seemed to go slower after that, I wasn’t depressed that’s for sure! I still went out and stuff but it was never the same you know?
Maybe I should have tried to think things through with what happened with Estelle and Ethan, but I didn’t, an idiot? I know
Instead of doing so, I decided to focus my efforts on my studies, photos and art, while I did start pushing the nagging problems to the side as I just focus my attention on studies and stuff. I didn’t push everyone away - I’m not like that, I can’t really push anyone away
Main reason is because I liked having people with me, but those people never got as close with me like Ethan and Estelle did
I can’t really hear or watch both of their favourite show One Piece again without thinking of them, so I never did - but I hear it’s still going on from what I heard from my classmates and other people around, I’m glad to hear that both of them would have really liked it was still going on
But then the accident happened

It was a few days after my 15th birthday I was leaving school, you know that usual? I was standing right near the yellow line that had been dividing the station and track of the trains up, I know I shouldn’t have done that but I was feeling off that day ok! So you can’t really blame me that much
Then suddenly a fight broke out between to boys from another school, it got pretty intense from what could see from the corner of my eyes, I had my headphones on so I couldn’t really hear what they shouting about
Not like I really cared for what they were fighting about in the first place, like who fights at a train station!? Dumb people that’s what, like a train could come at anytime, I hope they aren’t on my train
Lucky my train was just coming right now, as soon as I saw it speeding up to the station, my body slammed forward
Everything slowed down, like time didn’t matter at that exact moment of time. I saw a man looking like he was trying to grab me but was just a second to late, the boys that were fight now looking shocked
One of the boys had been pushed to the ground and the other boy had pushed him, was he hoping to kill him from pushing him? Or was the push in the heat of the moment. The people in the back looked a bit further away from where they were originally from, looks like they were smart to back away when the fight broke out well unlike me I guess, everyone faces were all full of emotions I couldn’t really come up with word to describe how scared and frightened they were at the moment, sad right? Looks like the police finally got here just a second late like that guy that trying to grab me, I hope they will be able break up the fight
You known in movies and show were a person life flashed before their eyes before dying, it isn’t true - well for my own death experience anyway, it was more like time slowed down just enough for me to see how and what everyone was doing and feeling at that moment, plus the realisation that someone had been push - I felt like I had all the time in the world right now, I can’t imagine how Estelle must feel if she was watching me plummet to my death
God I hope Ethan won’t be to sad when he hears about my death from other people when he does, I just hope he is able to keep moving forward
And just like that time that going as slow as an turtle moved to its normal pace again
The feeling I got as the train ramming into me crushing my body underneath was unpleasant, I couldn’t feel anything but pain. My body was on fire but as fast as that pain came it went away as fast it could like, kinda like how fast the train was running into me!
It was just pain and a cold liquid feeling coming out of me for a moment or two, before everything went dark and I couldn’t feel the pain anymore
