Work Text:
It was a terrible, terrible day on the seas of the Aurora world, with Dainix seasick and everybody mad at Erin. If only they knew how much worse it was about to get-
For unknown to anyone onscreen, the villains of the Aurora world had decided to unionize.
“Follow my breathing, okay?” Alinua said, and began to help Dainix down from his anxiety.
“I DONT KNOW IF NOW IS A GOOD TIME?” Tess called from above, and everyone turned to look at her. “BUT THERES SOMETHING OVER THERE?”
Over in the distance, was… What WAS that? It looked like a pirate ship, but… That couldn’t be right, it was literally not possible for any boat to follow Erin’s ship!
“Looks like we finally found the Ship of Fools,” Shrike taunted, rolling up to Erin with a satisfied smirk, arm leaning on the handrail like a cool kid taunting a loser from a fancy car. “It’s lovely to see you again!”
“WHAT” Erin looked dumbfounded. “Why aren’t you in Zuurith?! HOW are you even here?! My ship is the literal fastest ship in the world!”
“I got Tarren to make us a second,” Shrike said smugly.
“Tarren?! Why would he help the likes of YOU?!”
“The villains are unionizing,” Shrike answered honestly. “No, really. It’s a tough job being a villain in the Aurora world, and Red never gives us any screentime. So we decided to do it ourselves!”
“What?! What does that even-?” Erin paused, noticing someone else. “Wait, why is JUNE with you?!”
“My name is Theia,” the Junior Archivist clarified. “It’s a long story.”
“I don’t think you have time for it,” Shrike said smugly. “If you think this random encounter starts and ends with us- Oh look, we have another guest already!”
The beating of wings in the distance became close enough to be audible, and what do you know, it was an actual, literal dragon. The same thunder dragon Tess had fought all that time ago, with a man that Falst was hoping to never see again.
“This day really can’t be getting any worse, can it,” Falst spat, running up to the others, looking like the angriest cat(boy) in the history of angry cats. “What happened to ‘find your own way if you’re truly my son’, huh?!”
“Good to see you too,” Falst Dad responded. “Alas, it is not you who I am here for.”
“Oh, great, because you always cared about me. What do you want from us, huh?”
“…Why is everyone giving me that look?” Erin wondered. As a glowing pair of wings came from the opposite direction.
“Who’s THAT?!” Tess wondered. “Are all of you really just here for my brother?”
“No, Erin, I am your brother,” the glowy paladin pretty boy said, getting out a lightsaber -er, paladin glowy sword.
“No way. That’s impossible- wait, let me get this straight, all of you are really here for me.”
“We are here for the vessel of the Dark Dragon. That would be you.”
Abruptly, Erin’s eyes turned dark, dark matter void energy pouring out from him and tearing up his shirt in a pretty way. “My time! My time has come! I was not expecting to be able to battle so soon, but alas, it seems that the Elemental Magus has more enemies than I expected.”
“Void Dragon,” Kendal stated.
“Wh- SERIOUSLY?!” Falst yelled. “Why NOW?!”
Alinua instinctively moved to grow a plant, but alas, they were on a boat and there were no plants to be found. Dainix helplessly looked on, as them being on a wooden boat prevented him from using his powers.
“Seriously?! YOU’RE the villain bothering Erin?” Tess questioned. “I was expecting something scarier.”
“Not you too!” Void Dragon protested angrily, void energy blasting out.
“It’s not my fault you chose to possess my wet cat of a brother.”
Alinua really, really wished she had a spray bottle of some kind of paladin holy water or whatever right now. Maybe if she could find some seaweed-
Suddenly, Kendal felt a disturbance in the force. His god sense tingling. Alinua felt it too, a twisted abomination of life. “Please tell me this isn’t who I think it is,” Alinua said. “I’ve had ENOUGH of this.”
In the distance, an army of water chimera creatures appeared, and at the helm, a scary evil sorcerer with bright green eyes. “I hope I’m not late to the party! Chimeras aren’t the most efficient mode of transportation, so I had to improvise a little.”
Kendal did something illegal, and swore under his breath.
“Please tell me no other villains are coming for us,” Dainix said, a bit panicked-looking.
A disturbance from deep under the water made itself known, as a horrifying monstrosity began to surface. And at the same time, a volcano could be heard erupting in the distance, a portent of fiery doom.
“...Is now a bad time for us to reveal ourselves?” Asked Dalken as he held his red-gemmed sword, standing in front of five other horribly cliche evil palette-swapped copies of the protagonists.
“...Red help us all."
