**The Council's Decree**
The grand chamber of the Jujutsu High Council was adorned with ancient scrolls and illuminated by flickering torches, casting an ominous glow on the gathered members. Among them stood Gojo Satoru, his presence commanding even in the face of adversity, and Nanami Kento, his usual stoic demeanor edged with a hint of defiance.
"We have gathered here today," intoned the Elder Councilor, his voice resonating through the hall, "to address the fragile state of our world. The balance between alphas, betas, and omegas must be preserved."
Nanami's jaw clenched at the mention of balance, his thoughts drifting to Haibara, his lost spouse whose memory still haunted his dreams.
Gojo, standing tall with a mask of indifference, already knew the council's intentions. "Cut to the chase," he interrupted, his tone laced with impatience. "We all know why we're here."
The councilor continued, undeterred by Gojo's brash demeanor. "Gojo Satoru, as one of the rare omegas of exceptional strength and lineage, and Nanami Kento, esteemed alpha of unwavering discipline and integrity, you have been chosen to unite in marriage."
Nanami's eyes flashed with barely contained fury. "I never consented to this," he stated bluntly, his voice tight with restrained anger.
"You don't have a choice," Gojo retorted, his gaze challenging. "We both know how this works."
Nanami turned to Gojo, his expression a mix of betrayal and frustration. "You could have refused," he accused quietly. "You could have chosen someone else."
Gojo's mask slipped for a brief moment, revealing a flicker of vulnerability. "And who do I choose if not you? Certainly not a Zenin or Kamo." he countered, his voice harsh but no less resolute. "I chose you because I trust you, despite everything."
The councilor, sensing the rising tension, interjected firmly, "This union is not just about personal preferences. It's about the future of our clans, our society."
Nanami, though seething with resentment, reluctantly conceded to the council's decree. "Fine," he bit out, his voice a low growl. "For the greater good."
"The wedding will take place two days from now. This meeting is adjourned. We will meet again for the ceremony that the Gojo clan has graciously agreed to host." drawled the Elder from behind the curtain.
After the tense meeting in the grand chamber, Satoru and Kento found themselves walking through the quiet corridors of the Jujutsu High Council headquarters. The atmosphere was thick with unresolved tension and unspoken words.
Nanami's steps were measured, his usually composed demeanor tinged with frustration. He broke the silence first, his voice a low murmur that cut through the stillness. "Gojo, what is all this power worth if you're just going to be a slave to the council?"
Gojo's stride faltered for a moment, his expression unreadable as he turned to face Nanami. "You think I like this. You think I couldn't just have killed all those old farts in their with a flick of my finger? You know damn well Kento I would love to do that. Then what though? These stupid farts get replaced by smarter old farts who will do the same things just with sweeter words. It's not about being a slave," he replied evenly, his tone betraying a hint of weariness. "You know as well as I do, sometimes we have to play their game to protect what matters."
"And what about what I want?" Nanami shot back, his voice edged with bitterness. "Do my desires mean nothing in the face of their politics?"
A flicker of emotion crossed Gojo's face—uncertainty, perhaps, or a trace of regret. "We don't always get to choose our battles, Nanami," he reasoned, his voice softer now, tinged with resignation. "But we can choose how we fight them."
Nanami stopped abruptly, turning to face Gojo with a piercing gaze. "And what if I don't want to fight this battle at all?" he demanded, his words weighted with the weight of his conflicted emotions.
"Fine Nanami, how about this, you let me mate with you and in return you and itadori get the protection of gojo clan. I will not interfere in your life. You know very well that the higher ups will not take kindly to your rejection, they will set you up with some no name omega from those other clans whose only purpose is to get your technique in their bloodline. So this mating will give you not only security but also immunity from those clans." Gojo finally says.
Nanami halted in his tracks, his expression a mix of surprise and guarded skepticism. He turned to face Gojo, his features carefully composed despite the tumult of emotions swirling within him. "Gojo, you can't be serious," he retorted sharply, his voice betraying a hint of incredulity. "You're proposing this as if it's a business transaction."
Gojo met Nanami's gaze evenly, his own demeanor serious and unwavering. "Isn't that what this is, Nanami?" he countered, his tone measured but firm. "You know as well as I do the politics at play here. This marriage proposal from the council isn't just about us—it's about maintaining their power and control over our clans."
Nanami's jaw clenched as he absorbed Gojo's words, a mix of frustration and resignation clouding his features. "And you think this arrangement is any different?" he challenged, his voice tinged with bitterness. "You're offering me protection and immunity in exchange for... what exactly? Surrendering my autonomy?"
"It's not about surrender," Gojo insisted, his voice tinged with urgency. "It's about survival. For both of us." He took a step closer to Nanami, his expression softening slightly. "I'm offering you a chance to protect what's important to you—your techniques, your legacy. And in return, you'll have the backing of the Gojo clan to shield you from those who would exploit you."
Nanami regarded Gojo with a mixture of disbelief and reluctant consideration. "And what about Itadori?" he pressed, his voice quieter now, laden with concern for his student. "What role does he play in all of this?"
Gojo's gaze softened with understanding. "Itadori will be safe," he assured Nanami, his voice gentle yet resolute. "I'll ensure that he has the protection he needs, just as I promise to protect you."
Silence settled between them, the weight of Gojo's proposition hanging heavily in the air. Nanami wrestled with conflicting emotions—distrust of the council's motives, concern for Itadori's safety, and the unsettling realization that Gojo's offer, while pragmatic, held a glimmer of genuine concern for his well-being.
After a long moment of contemplation, Nanami finally spoke, his voice tinged with reluctant acceptance. "Fine," he conceded quietly, his gaze unwavering as it met Gojo's. "But this isn't just about protection, Gojo. There are terms we need to establish."
Gojo nodded, a flicker of relief crossing his features. "Of course," he agreed readily, a hint of gratitude in his voice. "Whatever you need, Nanami. We'll make this work."
And so, amidst the shadows of political intrigue and the weight of their shared burdens, Gojo Satoru and Nanami Kento forged an alliance born of necessity—a fragile pact that would bind them together in ways even they couldn't have expected.
