Chapter Text
“Come on guys, this looks like a really sick place to investigate. Let's go inside.”
Kirishima said to his group of friends that always followed him, no matter where he went.
They were on one of their lost places tours, a trip where they drove to old and forgotten places that they found on the internet, in specific books about those topics or heard about from other people out of their community.
Lost places had become quite famous around the last years, many documentaries or posts had been made about it. That's how Kirishima and his friends had found out this place existed as well.
They had always loved horror and the mysteries of the unknown, so visiting abandoned buildings like old hospitals, psychiatric hospitals or hotels was thrilling and exciting for them.
Them, it was Kirishima and his friends Hanta Sero, Todoroki Shoto and Kaminari Denki. They have been friends since childhood and always played outside to have adventures in their nearby forest, building tree houses and fishing in the little creek that made its way through the forest.
And now the forest wasn't enough anymore.
Now they wanted to take their adventures further.
Hanta had driven them to a building in the middle of nowhere, a big house with three floors on the border to a forest where only one highway was leading them. No other buildings were here, no people that lived close by, no shops or even a gas station. Nothing.
Which made it for Kirishima and his friends all the more exciting.
“Wow, this really looks lost. Look at all the thrown in windows and the weeds that are overtaking the walls of this house. How many years has this been abandoned?”
Denki breathed out, looking at the big house right in front of him with at least three floors.
“I heard it's been only four years, but the owners changed many times and didn't take care of the house.”
Hanta explained, being the one to have found this location.
Shoto opened the door of the rundown house with the white walls where the color came off from, the door wooden and creaking heavily as Shoto pulled it open.
“Only four years? And what business has taken place here? It doesn't look like a typical business location.”
Kirishima walked inside right behind Shoto, looking around the almost completely intact entrance hall.
There were still coats hanging from the coat check, a dusty red carpet was still on the floor and a dark leather sofa was standing in the corner of the room.
“It was always something else, nothing was able to survive here for long. I just know for sure that the latest business that has taken place here seems to be a brothel.”
Hanta smirked and elbowed Denki in the side, wriggling his eyebrows at him.
“Oh, exciting! Do you think we will find some sex toys in here?”
Denki laughed and ran into another room, pulling Hanta with him.
Kirishima and Shoto rolled their eyes at their horny friends, huffing at the revelation where they were right now.
An old brothel.
“Never trust Hanta.”
Shoto grunted, driving a hand through his split coloured hair.
“Yeah, seems so. Only he gets the idea to go on a lost place tour only to drive three hours to an abandoned brothel.”
Kirishima chuckled, patting his friend's shoulder with his big hand.
But he didn't mind it much. It still looked cool, and not at all abandoned. Yeah, there was no one here, and that for a long time, but the whole house seemed to be completely furnished. Like the owners just walked out of the house but left everything here, not caring what happened to all the things they left.
Kirishima and Shoto parted, the redhead wanted to go upstairs and look what was there and the split haired boy made his way to the basement.
Everyone of them had a flashlight with them and their phone to film things that looked interesting to them. And sometimes they posted those videos to their social media as well.
Kirishima walked up the thick wooden stairs that loudly ached beneath his weight up to the first floor.
There was red carpet as well laid all over the stairs and on the ground of the first floor, every inch was plastered in this carpet. But it was dirty, dust and chips of the white and yellow paint that was plastered on the walls were covering the carpet, and even pieces of stone that came off the ceiling above him were laying everywhere.
Kirishima looked down the floor, many doors, some open and some closed, lead to rooms on the left and right to him that wanted to be discovered.
The redhead decided to go left first.
He pushed open a door that showed him something that looked like a bedroom.
A bed that was the size for two persons was standing in the center of the room, pillows and duvet still on the bed. Even an old TV opposite of the bed was standing on a wooden wardrobe. The furnishings looked cheap, not the most expensive stuff, but it was still all in here. Mainly intact.
The windows were covered in grime and dust and you couldn't really look outside, the electricity wasn't working either as Kirishima tried to turn on the lights, but otherwise he was surprised by the state of this house.
He hadn't seen any other lost place that was still in such good shape as this. Like the owner just left to buy some stuff and was coming back every second, that's what it looked like. Of course everything was dirty, but nobody left that much stuff in the house when he knew he wasn't coming back.
Kirishima decided to look in the other rooms, closing the door behind him of the first room he had discovered. Leaving everything as it was was very important to him. He was only here to look, to feel the atmosphere of a place lost and abandoned and think about what could have happened here. What has been in here, in the time where it wasn't lost ?
Who lived here or who worked here, what was it like and why was it empty now?
Or, better fitting for this place, why wasn't it empty?
Kirishima didn't want to take things that didn't belong to him and he didn't want to touch anything that wasn't his to lay his hands on. Visiting lost places had something to do with respect for him.
The second room was very similar to the first.
A bed and a TV standing on a wardrobe. The colors of the duvet and pillows were different, here it was a light blue and in the first room it had been yellow with a flower pattern.
They looked old, like the duvet covers his grandma used.
The rooms were quite small, there wouldn't fit much more in here like the things that already were inside, but they had everything a person needed to spend the night.
Maybe Hanta was right, maybe this really had been a brothel once. Kirishima took a few careful steps inside the room to explore it more, find any hint if it was true.
And he didn't need to look that long. Under the bed he saw a condom laying, and an empty bottle of lube on the corner of the room behind the opened door.
Kirishima huffed and chuckled, closing the door behind him again to see if the other rooms where the same as the first two.
But they probably were.
“Wow, Denki! Look at that! Is that…. Is that a breeding bench?!”
Kirishima heard Hanta yelling from the ground floor.
A breeding bench? Was what that supposed to mean? Kirishima thought.
A brothel, yeah he knew what that was.
But a ‘breeding bench’?
They had a good amount of rooms with beds here, why would they need benches for whatever they did in here?
Kirishima shook his head. Maybe Denki and Hanta had found a BDSM dungeon down there or something. Kirishima didn't have a clue about kinky stuff like that. He wasn't interested in doing something intimate with a stranger, he still waited for his first boyfriend to explore the world of sex with. Until then he would focus on university and his hobbies, and not being such a horny brained freak like Hanta and Denki.
Kirishima opened another door and found a somewhat bigger room than the other two.
This room had a big black leather couch beneath the dirty windows. The bed that was in all rooms was here as well, but a king sized bed this time. With burgundy red sheets and duvets. This bed was different than the others.
Kirishima took a better look at the bed, on the wooden headboard of it were weird dark things attached to it.
And on the foot of the bed as well.
Where that … a d ring carabiner?
It was a ring attached to the wood so that you could secure something to it.
Kirishima turned around to search for something that could be something that he could attach to that, something that the guests that visited here used for it.
He looked under the bed and behind the couch, on the floor and he even opened the wardrobe where the TV was standing on. And yes, in the wardrobe where things he had never seen before. He found ropes and shackles, blindfolds and silken ropes that were tied together. Another bottle of lube, and a long metal bar with shackles attached to it on the sides.
Kirishima closed the drawer quickly again and made an uneasy face.
So, now he knew what the rings in the headboard were used for, to tie someone to the bed so they couldn't get away anymore.
Suddenly, Kirishima heard a rustling noise from behind him. A noise he sure as hell wasn't responsible for.
His heart began to race in his chest.
What was that?
Were rats or mice here? Hopefully it was just something like that.
The tall redhead turned around slowly to the bed and saw a big bump beneath the burgundy red covers, a bump he hadn't noticed before.
Was there someone hiding under the covers?
“H-Hello….?”
Kirishima asked with a slightly shaky, nervous voice.
But he wasn't getting an answer. The rustling had stopped and the bump wasn't moving anymore.
“Shit.”
Kirishima grunted. He really didn't want to do this, he wasn't as brave as everyone thought he was, only because he was tall and broad. His body had nothing to do with his character.
He was scared of spiders and insects, okay?!
His broad shoulders didn't help with that.
Kirishima drove a hand through his red, long hair that stood up in two little devil horns in the front and took a deep breath. He could do this.
If this thing wanted to kill him, it would have done that already. Hopefully.
“Okay, okay you can do this, Eijirou. You can do this. The others will help you if you scream. Just relax. You aren't alone.”
Kirishima talked to himself to reassure him that nothing would happen. With one more deep breath and a pinch on the bridge of his nose, he was ready. At least as much as he could be.
He took another step towards the bed and then pulled the duvet off with one fluid motion.
He heard a whimper and an unhappy cry as he pulled on the duvet and what he saw on the bed made his heart skip a beat.
The duvet fell to the ground, and what was remaining on the bed was …
Both of them stared each other in the eyes, heart racing and breath coming in quick, panicked heaves.
The .. thing.. person… whatever it was was crawling backwards on the bed until their back and head hit the headboard and there was no more space to go.
“Who… what….”
Kirishima mumbled, too stunned to speak.
But it was clear that this creature was more scared of him than he of the creature right in front of him, so he didn't need to fear for his life.
It was quite the opposite actually.
The poor thing on the bed seemed to fear for its life.
It looked like a boy a bit younger than him, around sixteen or seventeen years old, but it also had animalistic features as well.
His feet weren't feet. He had the hinds of a rabbit, covered in blond fur.
And instead of ears, he had long and slender, soft looking bunny ears that laid flat on top of his head because he was so scared.
But it couldn't be denied that this boy wasn't just a boy. He was a hybrid.
Kirishima had heard of them, but never seen one before. They were quite rare nowadays, for many different and cruel reasons.
So the redhead couldn't believe what he saw there on the bed, right in front of his eyes.
In this abandoned building in the middle of nowhere.
“Hey, little guy. What are you doing here, are you okay?”
Kirishima asked, trying for a small smile so that the hybrid knew he wasn't here to harm him and took a step towards him.
But the hybrid only tried to press himself more against the pillows and the headboard and tried to make himself as small as possible. He shook his head and Kirishima thought to see tears prickling in his bright red eyes. His eyes were wide open and watching Kirishima's every move.
The hybrid's chest rose and fell so quickly, Kirishima was scared that he would have a heart attack within the next few seconds.
Kirishima had no idea what to do.
He didn't know how to convince the poor thing that he wasn't a threat to him, because the hybrid seemed to think that.
Also his body was very thin and covered in dirt and grime, his fur looked knotted and matted, the blond color dull and almost gray from all the dirt inside of it. The more Kirishima looked at him, the more he noticed what a bad shape the hybrid was in. He didn't look healthy or good taken care of, if he had an owner.
What was the poor little thing doing here, in this former brothel?
“I don't want to hurt you, okay? I don't know why you are here or what you have been through that you are so scared of me, but I won't harm you. I can help you, if you want. You look like you need a bath and a good meal, I could give you what you need, if you would let me.”
Kirishima explained, not knowing if his words would convince the hybrid or offend him.
He never talked to someone like this little bunny hybrid before, and he hoped that he would understand him.
Additionally, Kirishima decided to get down on his knees to lower himself, so that he wouldn't be so much taller than the hybrids and look like a predator to him. Someone his shape and size towering over someone smaller could quickly become scary and terrifying for the smaller person.
So now he was kneeling next to the bed, maybe five steps away from where the hybrid was cowering against the headboard. The red, big eyes followed Kirishima down to the floor, watching him kneeling there.
It seemed like he was waiting for something more to happen, that Kirishima was up to something.
But after nothing happened for several moments, the bunny hybrid seemed to relax a little bit.
His quick and heavy breathing calmed down a little and he didn't look so extremely tense anymore. He was still watching Kirishima, his eyes never leaving the strong redhead.
“Yes, that's right. You can trust me that I am not here to hurt you. I am Eijirou Kirishima. My friend call me Ei or Kiri. Do you have a name?”
Kirishima wasn't even sure if the hybrid could speak. Or speak his language, if he was able to talk. But he wanted to try. It was the only way he could think of to earn the hybrid's trust. To make himself approachable and trust worthy.
The hybrid listened to him and was still focused on him, watched him as he reached out a hand to him and flinched hard as Kirishima's big hand was stretched towards him.
Kirishima pulled back again, regretting his movement.
“K-Katsuki...”
The hybrid's voice trembled and shook as he spoke, and it was quiet, so quiet that Kirishima wasn't sure if he was really speaking to him. But he listened carefully and watched his chapped, pale lips speaking out what was probably his name.
“Is that your name? Katsuki? What a beautiful name, it has such a nice sound to it. Nice to meet you, Katsuki.”
Kirishima smiled brightly at the bunny hybrid, wanting to reward Katsuki's decision to speak to him with kind words. And he really liked his name, he wasn't lying.
It sounded cute and really fitted the small, skittish thing.
Katsuki only nodded, not saying anything to that. He looked like he was ready to flee or fight every second if it wasn't necessary, not allowing himself to relax entirely in Kirishima's presence.
He was still very wary of the big red head, pressing his knees together to cover up his exposed private parts since he wasn't wearing anything.
Not like Kirishima wanted to look down there, but the hybrid just seemed very vulnerable, so thin and naked like he was.
He felt incredibly sorry for him, and he felt the big urge to nurse him and take care of him.
“Hey, Ei! Are you done here ? We wanna leave again, it's getting dark outside!”
He heard Hanta yelling to him from downstairs.
The sudden, loud voice scared the bunny hybrid so immensely that he jumped off the bed and hid underneath it, cowering himself into a little ball, covering his head with his fuzzy hands.
Fuck, Kirishima thought.
That was the worst possible moment for something like this. He turned his head around towards the open door and answered.
“Yes, give me five more minutes.”
Kirishima said back, but not raising his voice that loud. Only as loud as it needed to be so that the others would hear him. He didn't want to scare the poor bunny more than he already was.
“I'm so sorry, Katsuki. Those were my friends. We came here to explore this house that you seem to live in. But we have to leave now. Though I would love to take you with me. This isn't a place for such a beautiful being like you are. I would worry for you if I had to leave you here, so alone and without electricity or food. Would you come with me? I promise to take care of you and treat you well, you don't have to be scared.”
Kirishima lowered his body onto the dirty floor to be able to speak with the hybrid that hid under the bed. Katsuki didn't look at him anymore, he stayed hidden beneath the bed, curled into a shaking ball and with his hands covering his head and face.
Kirishima bit onto his lower lip, thinking about what he could do to help this lost soul.
This wasn't a place for him. Kirishima had no idea how he had survived this long here, in this abandoned building that surely no one visited other than people on a lost place tour. There wasn't a chance that there was any edible food that had survived this long, Kirishima hadn't seen any at least. And he was cold, naked and alone.
He didn't want to leave him like this.
But he didn't want to force him to come with him either.
If he would force him, he would be even more scared of him and never come to trust him.
“Please, Katsuki. Please come with me. I won't hurt you, I only want to help you.”
Kirishima pleaded with the small, terrified hybrid, his voice urgent and almost begging.
“Kiri, come on! Hurry your fat ass down here, or I will come up and drag you into the car!”
This time, it was Denki who was calling for him, and Kirishima could already hear his steps on the staircase.
Fuck. Kirishima shot one last look at the trembling figure of the hybrid, making sure there was really not one single sign that he wanted to come with him. But there wasn't. His fear got only worse the longer Kirishima was here, and now with Denki on the way…
No, he didn't want Denki to see the hybrid. Denki was too loud and had too much energy, it would get Katsuki a real heart attack this time. The energetic blonde was too much for him.
“Alright, goodbye then, Katsuki. I hope we will meet each other again some time. It was nice getting to know you a little.”
Kirishima whispered to the small creature, gave him one last longing and regretful look before he got up on his feet to be out of the room before Denki came here.
He didn't want to leave him here. But he didn't see any other possibility right now.
Force wasn't the right way. He didn't want to fight with the hybrid or terrify him further. There was a reason as to why he didn't trust him and was so scared of him.
Kirishima would do his research at home, he wouldn't forget Katsuki. He couldn't forget him.
******
Kirishima was silent on the ride home. He wasn't able to talk much with his friends. Katsuki was on his mind the whole time.
Why was a hybrid there? Such a rare sight in normal life. There were some hybrids on TV, and books were written about them. About their Anatomy and how they lived and when and how it came to their almost extinction. There were movies made about the different reasons why today's society almost had no ‘free living’ hybrids anymore. Or what they were used for…
Humans were just cruel and disgusting.
“Ei! Why are you so quiet? Didn't you like today's tour ?”
Denki gave him a slap to the back of his head from the seat behind him. His voice was easy going as always, but everyone looked at him when the blond asked the questions.
“No, it's not that… It was fun and very interesting. I'm just having a headache, that's all. Did you find any more interesting things ?”
Kirishima answered, trying to get his friends to talk again and the attention away from him.
“Well, there was a lot of weird stuff in the basement. I found cages in all sizes and bowls with names written on them. Like dog bowls. A brothel doesn't have house pets, do they? And there were at least eight or ten bowls, that would have made very many dogs for a house this size. It was very strange. And many brushes and utensils to take care of fur, nail clippers and even leashes. Very strange.”
Shoto told about his findings that he made in the basement of the brothel. When Kirishima heard that, his eyes widened and he thought immediately of Katsuki again.
Cages? Bowls? Fur brushes?
That sounded like something people would have that owned a hybrid, didn't it ?
“Oi, don't say anything against leashes! They can be fun.”
Denki chimed in, scolding Shoto for his virgin behavior.
Damnit, what was that brothel ?
How strange could it get ?
But Kirishima hadn't seen more hybrids than Katsuki, and Hanta, Denki and Shoto didn't seem to have found one either, so was Katsuki really the only one left there? And what happened to the others ? And why was Katsuki still there ?
The redhead wished he could go back and ask Katsuki all of those questions.
But the bunny didn't want to talk to him, he only told him his name with a lot of convincing. And he was very scared. It wouldn't be easy to get all those informations from him.
Yet it hurt so much to know that he was there, afraid and alone cowering under the bed. He had been so scared, shaking like a leaf with his matted fur and dirty skin. He had looked so lost.
Kirishima desperately wanted to give him a bath, wrap him in a soft, thick blanket and cuddle him.
No one deserved to live like that. Especially someone so innocent like a hybrid that was entirely dependent on humans.
Kirishima zoned out after Shotos words and was lost in his head until Hanta let him off at his apartment. He was the only one with a flat on his own, the others lived all together in a shared apartment.
“Alright then, goodnight guys. And thanks for the adventure. Let's do it again in a few weeks.”
Kirishima said his goodbyes as he opened his safety belt and opened the door of Hantas car.
“Yeah, take care big guy and get well soon. Drink enough and get some rest.”
Hanta smiled at him and the others waved until the door of the car closed again and Kirishima went up the stairs to his flat.
He was glad to be alone again and had time to research. Since he had nothing to do for the next few days, no lecture in his university or other stuff related to his study, he luckily had much time on his hands.
The redhead booted his computer up while he made himself a quick meal. A ‘meal’ here being just a bowl of cereal with milk. But he had no nerve to cook himself a real meal right now, he had too much on his mind for that and it was already pretty late.
The lost place had been a three hour drive from their hometown, so it was around midnight as Kirishima looked at his phone.
He wandered back with his full cereal bowl to his computer and typed the location of the house they had just visited in the search engine.
He wanted to find out more about this building and maybe what exactly it had been in the past, it was really ‘just a brothel’, or maybe something related to hybrids. With all this stuff in the basement and Katsuki in one of the beds, maybe it was more than a regular brothel.
But there were very few hits to his search, only a few pictures of the house, an advertisement that it was up for sale on an estate agents website and an article about it that it had been a hostel once.
So nothing really interesting for him.
Kirishima typed the word hybrid behind it in the searching machine in hopes by being more specific, that maybe he would find what he was looking for.
But he shouldn't have done that. He was flooded with advertisements and websites that sold pictures, videos and “special services” of hybrids like cats, dogs, cows, rare tigers and even bunny's doing things he didn't want to see. And they surely didn't do these things of their own free will as well. How disgusting.
He even landed on a black market page that tried to sell him a hybrid. It was horrible. Those poor, poor creatures. Kirishima didn't want to see more of that. He felt so sorry for all of them, and for Katsuki. What he must have been through…
And why must all of this content be sexual? Why were hybrids being forced into this exact business?
Rented out to offer their ‘services’ to customers that booked them on a website or forced to film those disgusting videos where they were ‘bred’ by humans to sell those videos on the internet.
Wait… he had heard this word before.
Hadn't Hanta or Denki said that they had found a ‘breeding’ bench in the basement?
Was breeding a word related to hybrids?
Could that mean….
Kirishima almost didn't want to do it. He almost didn't want to see the results that came up on his screen when he typed in the words hybrid and brothel and breeding next to each other.
And he shouldn't have done that. He shouldn't have gone down that dark path.
He only lasted a few seconds when his screen was blown up with porn links and websites leading to exactly that.
Hybrid brothels.
And when he saw the same building he had been to only a few hours back in one of those links, he knew he was right and closed the search engine.
Fuck.
That was so fucked up.
Kirishima had no idea about this.. Industry being such a big thing apparently.
God, how terrible.
And how.. how cruel for this little bunny. For Katsuki.
He must have been through a lot.
And no wonder he acted so terrified of Kirishima.
He was probably scared that he had been there to bring him to another one of those establishments or make him work for him otherwise.
Kirishima had to make it clear that that wasn't his intention when he would go there the next time. Katsuki shouldn't get the wrong impression of him.
The redhead took a deep breath.
He couldn't drive back there now, it was dark and in the middle of the night.
Tomorrow morning he would buy a few things, snacks and water and a warm blanket that he would take with him, and then he would rent a car and go back to take Katsuki with him. Of course only if the boy wanted to.
Kirishima had to find a way to convince him though, he couldn't leave him there, alone and almost starved to death. He needed to gain his trust somehow.
