Work Text:

“Don’t worry about it.”

Sayaka left the abandoned building and walked home along the rails. She kept her eyes straight ahead, stumbling as her vision washed out with the dusk. This was the perfect place for a labyrinth - how many people died in train wrecks? How many people came here to -

Trains were brushing past her in the dark. She wasn’t a person anymore, but her heart still jumped at the force of them.

She thought of Kyoko, leant against the wall. “Don’t do anything stupid, ok?”

They were heavy and beautiful. They ran very fast and had no hearts.

Notes:

Title is from The Very Day I'm Gone by Addie Graham. I learned this from the singing of Anna & Elizabeth. This would be more relevant if I was singing it for you, but fanfiction is basically folk music with extra geometry, so here ya go! Have fun! I'm creating new folk music traditions in the notes of archive of our own
