Chapter Text
The Brown-Haired Girl Looked Forward, Releasing A Pained Whine As Red Droplets Flowed Down Her Forearm, Pooling Into A Poorly-Constructed Bundle Of Now Bloodied-Toilet-Paper, As Gabby Looked Towards Her Arm, Bringing It Closer To Her Face As To Inspect The Results Of Her Recent-Slice, It Wasn’t Too Deep.
Deep Enough To Cause Bleeding, Yet Not A Concern Enough To Bother Ellie About, Would It Be Considered Bothering Her? Ellie Wouldn’t Be Mad With Her, Yet She Still Didn’t Wish To Get Her Girlfriend Tangled-Up Within The Thin-Strings Of Her Own Misfortunes, Ellie Deserved So Much Better Than This, Then Her. She Didn’t Get It One Bit, Why Would A Girl As Amazing As Her Want To Stay With Someone As Unpredictable As Herself? It Was Puzzling To Gabby, How Ellie Could Love Her Through Her Obvious Flaws.
The Girl’s Focus Wavered For A Moment, As She Directed Her Hands Towards The Nearby Medicine-Cabinet, Applying A Puff Of Disinfectant Spray To The Wounds Before Wrapping Them Up In A Tight Bandage, Placing A Hand On The Bathroom-Mirror To Support Herself To Return The Medical-Supplies To Their Appropriate-Location, She Hoped That If Things We’re Tidy Enough, Ellie Wouldn’t Notice Anything Out Of The Ordinary, Like The Small Pocket-Blade Concealed Neatly Behind A Roll Of Medical-Tape.
“Having A Party Are We? Did You Forget To Invite Me? That Is Okay, I Am Here Now.” An Uncomfortably-Familiar Voice Proclaimed, Resting A Hand On Her Hip As They Snickered Silently.
“Please Just Go Away, I Am Not In The Mood To Talk To Anyone Now.” Gabby Responded To The Almost-Identical Figure That Stood Beside Her In The Reflection, Her Brow Furrowing.
“But I Thought You Did Not Do Well On Your Own, Remember? Just A Few Hours Without Someone And Look What You Have Done To Yourself, Left To Your Own Devices And You Chose To Make Yourself Bleed.” The Reflection Smirked Again, Pacing Along The Far-Side Of The Bathroom-Space With A Strong-Stride, Not Allowing The Now-Tense Gabby To Formulate A Response Before Continuing Her Critiques.
“Do You Know How Pathetic This Makes You Look? You Are Just Proving Them All Right, That You Deserve To Be Locked-Away, That You Really Are Just Crazy. What Would Ellie Say To You If She Knew How Helpless You Are Without Her? There Is No Way She Would Want To Stay With Someone As Worthless As-“
“Shut Your Mouth! How Dare You Speak About Ellie That Way! She Cares About Me In Ways So Great You Couldn’t Understand! Now Stop Your Lying And Leave Me The Hell Alone, I Don’t Want You Here! You Are Going To Wake Her Up!” Gabby Shouted, Slamming A Clutched-Fist To The Wooden-Countertop Below, Causing The Nearby Hand-Soap To Spill Onto The Floor Below.
Within An Instant, The Reflection Of The Doppelgänger In A Red-Sweater Disappeared, As The Sound Of The Bathroom-Doorway Being Creaked-Open Filled The Space.
In The Doorway Stood A Pale Red-Head, Groggily Rubbing At Her Eyes As She Peered Through Into The Bathroom, Damn-It! She Must Have Been Woken Up By The Sudden-Commotions.
“Gabby, Is Everything Okay? It Sounded Like We We Were Being Robbed Or Something So I Just Wanted To Check Up With You-, Ah.” Ellie Questioned Her Partner, Her Tone Shifting Into A Mutter At The End Of Her Speech As She Understood The Context Of The Scene.
Outstretching Her Arms, Ellie Approached The Now Teary-Eyed Gabby, Wrapping Her Arms Around Her In A Soft-Embrace, Allowing Her To Rest Her Head Upon The Crook Of Her Neck, To Which Gabby Reciprocated Through Nervous Sniffles.
“I… I Didn’t Want You To See Me Like This, I’m So So Sorry, Please Just Don’t Think About This More Than You Have Too, You Don’t Need To Worry Yourself With My Problems.”
“What Makes You Think That This Bothers Me? We All Have Different Ways Of Dealing With Our Emotions, Everyone Needs An Outlet Somehow. I’m Not Annoyed.” The Red-Head Spoke Calmly, Gently Turning Over The Dark-Skinned Girl’s Arm As She Peered At The Fresh-Bandages.
“The Pain Isn’t Too Bad Is It? If You Need I Can Get You Some Tylenol And A Drink From The Fridge.” Ellie Enquired, Offering Her Girlfriend A Small Comforting Smile As She Extended Her Offer.
“No, No. I’ll Be Just Fine-, I Think, It’s Just A Scratch!” Gabby Replied, Attempting To Return To That Of Her Regular-Cheeriness For Making The Reference, That Of Which Managed To Cause Ellie To Chuckle, Bringing Comfort To The Girl.
“Pfft-, I Guess I’ll Have To Take Your Word For It Then Gabbs.” Ellie Said, Offering Her A Small-Nod, As She Felt Her Partners Breathing Slow, Returning To It’s Regular-Pacing, Those Words Must Have Meant A Lot To Gabby, Even If She Didn’t Let It Seem Like It Now.
“You Look Tired, Would You Be Okay With Coming Back To Bed With Me? It’s Okay If You Need Some More Time Here Though.” The Red-Haired Girl Yawned, Not Wishing To Pressure Her Girlfriend Into Something She Didn’t Feel Ready To Do, But Facing The Facts Of The Situation, There Wasn’t Any-Plausible Way That The Girl Wasn’t Astronomically-Exhausted From Staying Up-Late, After All Gabby Was A Heavy-Sleeper.
The Dark-Skinned Girl Stayed Quiet For A Moment, Pulling Away Gently From Her Partners Arms, As She Wrapped Her Arms Around Her Front, Folding Them Slightly As She Looked Away, Gazing Idly Towards The Large Puddle Of Soap That Now Adjourned The Bathrooms Flooring, Trying To Find Her Words.
“Your Worried About The Soap? Gabbs I’m Not Mad, I Can Clean It Up In The Morning, You Don’t Have To Be Worried, I Could Never Hate You Over Something So Dumb.” Ellie Affirmed, Quelling The Majority Of Gabby’s New-Concerns, As She Placed Her Hands Around Gabby’s In An Affectionate Hold.
“I-, Thank You Bestie.” Gabby Mumbled Out, Releasing A Final Sniffle, As She Allowed Herself To Be Led Outside Of The Bathroom By The Gentle Grip Of Ellie’s Hand, Ellie’s Hands Had Always Been Soft, Gabby Would Savour Any Moment She Could Feel Such A Welcoming Touch From Her Beloved.
Ellie Released Gabby’s Hand For A Moment, As She Unfolded The Corner Of The Large Weighted-Blanket That Adjourned The Twin-Sized Mattress, Tapping A Hand Beside Her, As She Invited Gabby Closer, Once More Presenting Her With That All-Too Perfect-Smile, Making Gabby’s Heart Almost Turn To Mush.
With A Subtle-Blush, Gabby Approached Their Bed, Resting Her Head Against The Pillow As She Slid Under The Covers, Allowing Herself To Stretch Out Her Body Before She Rolled Onto Her Side, Turning To Face Her Ever-Determined Partner Who Seemed Satisfied With Her Choice In Actions.
“Are You Going To Get In Bed Too? I Don’t Want To Take Up Too Much Of The Bed Without Saving Room For You To Be Beside Me First.” Gabby Asked In A Slightly Puzzled Manor, Her Head Tilting To The Side Like A Puppy Chasing After A Ball, Loose Hair Drifting Over Her Eyes From The Motion.
In Response To The Question, Ellie Cupped Her Hand Around The Girls Cheek, Eliciting A Small Squeak From Gabby, As Ellie Began Brushing The Strands Of Dark-Brown Hair Behind The Girl’s Ear, Before She Planted A Kiss To Her Forehead.
“I Will Be Don’t Worry, I Just Wanted To Take My Time Looking Into Your Eyes A Bit Longer-, God, That Sounded Less Corny In My Head.” Ellie Said With A Twinge Of Embarrassment In Her Tone, Rolling Her Eyes Playfully, Before She Gave Gabby A Small Nudge, Requesting Her To Face The Other-Direction, Which After A Small-Amount Of Grinning, Happily Obliged.
Ellie Responded To Her With A Sly Smirk, Placing Her Arms In A Gentle Hold Around Gabby’s Midsection As She Pressed Her Body Against The Back Of Her Partner’s, Enveloping The Pair In A Sharing Of Warmth.
For That Moment, Gabby Could Finally Feel Herself Being Able To Breath Freely, There In Ellie’s Arms She Felt Safe, Right Now All Of Her Worries And Problems Felt So Very Distant, She Was Here, She Was Okay.
She Was Here With The One She Loved, The One Who Loved Her Back Tenfold.
Gabby Had Always Been A Hugger, And Now She Could Understand Why, It Was An Expression Of Gratitude, Or In This Case, Love.
