Code Geass: The Foreigners

Summary:

There has never been a more screwed up time on Earth than the time Russia and China got together to conquer more land. And then they don't. At least, not immediately. Instead, they went through their own portals to one world to test run weapons and machines.

The New California Republic caught word of it and sent in their Marines, supplemented by the NCR Army and Red Hats to handle the job of kicking the Russians and the Chinese out...

The typhoon was approaching rapidly and unnaturally. They were sure that this was one of the machinations of the Chinese and the Russians. The New California government had heard in the dark net grapevine of the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China teaming up in secret under a similar goal; to take land. That part was an open secret to everyone who ever heard of the relationship between the two nations. But then, rumors began springing up in social media about “experimental weapons” as well as hazardous materials that were being weaponized. By the time the New Californian government caught wind and sent spies over to Russia and China, it was too late. The two nations had found their own portals, two of which were heading to yet another alternate dimension. The government had found a portal off the coastline of Washington, and soon sent the NCR Army, the Marines, and the Special Forces groups through it.

This world was a little…odd. The United States of America didn’t exist here. In its place was a British empire, called the Holy Britannian Empire, which ruled the Americas. Ruling Europe and Africa was a version of the European Union. Ruling most of Asia is the Chinese Federation. If that government was as corrupt as the one in Communist China, Gerome would laugh, be worried, laugh, and be worried again. The point was that the superpowers in this world, Britannia, the EU and China, were the big nations in Dimension 1084, loosely named after George Orwell’s dystopian novel. Oh, and they had some kind of rare Earth element called Sakuradite and have giant military robots/mechs.

The tropical storm made a crashing boom as the Imperial British Navy approached Tokyo Bay. The ships moved steadily…until they weren’t. The Russians had developed an EMP-type weapon that renders all electronics, and various things that use electronics, useless. Despite this world being in the 1960s, their technology was advanced to the point they could catch up to, or even surpass, the mid-21st century. It was very impressive, for this world’s 1960s era.

“Gerry?” Gerome came to and saw a hand holding up a rain poncho. He took it and puts it on as he turned his head to see his old pen-pal, Revy, smirking at him, her eyes hidden behind a pair of ballistic goggles. He checked the ACOG on his M16A4 as he muttered, “Thank you.”

The rain began to pour as the wind picked up, forcing the Marines to go inside. This meeting with the new Viceroy of Japan was going to be delayed, majorly.

Ashford Academy

2:10 PM

Verosika Mayday leaned against the wall of the nurse’s office as she watched over two students who were exhibiting symptoms of being…Abnormal. She took a peek outside the window, seeing a few hundred Marines with their weapons and equipment, ready for any fight that may come, typhoon be damned. Among them were some of the students and staff of the academy. All the high school-aged juniors and seniors, white and otherwise, wore vests and helmets over their school uniforms and holding M16s and Kalashnikov assault rifles.

The Succubus looked at the students in the room again, one of whom was a nervous wreck with green hair and glasses and muttering in Yiddish. The other was a crippled and blind girl. Well formerly crippled and blind. Apparently, she could get on her feet and open her eyes to stare at her. She was being a bit creepy about it as her stare had no emotion behind it.

“Miss Lamperouge? That is your name, right?”

“…” A wary nod was made.

“Okay. Could you not do that please? You’re being a little creepy, no offense,” was what Verosika said to the young schoolgirl before some thunder rumbled from the distance. It was coming from the direction of Tokyo, which meant the storm was coming in fast. “You might wanna lie down and get some rest. It’s gonna be a long day. Damn Russians and their weather-controlling machines…”

There was commotion coming from the halls and the Marines outside by the entrance had their rifles raised. The Californians have the entire campus under high alert, with every entryway, every wall, and every fence patrolled by the NCR Marines. Verosika focused on the shadows and echoes outside Ashford Academy, listening for the enemy.

About three minutes after the typhoon reached the mainland, she got something. Arm patches of the Chinese Special Operation Forces and Russian Spetsnaz appeared in her mind. She heard radio chatter in Mandarin and Russian and…growling. She saw some soldiers in uniform and full gear like the rest, but no weapons on them. They were all twitchy, had pale gray skin and their veins were swollen.

“Shit. Zombies. OF course they got their hands on the Muzan Contagion,” Verosika groaned, pressing her hand against her head. “Of course they would…”

“Are we going to die here?” Verosika turned to the British brunette holding her pistol—wait what. She aimed her Type 56 at the girl. She was standing by the window facing the campus entrance. “If we’re not dying here, I need to know what we’re dealing with.”

“Miss Lamperouge…”

“Nunnally.”

“Nunnally,” the succubus points at her sidearm in the girl’s hand. “Give it back. That’s not a toy.”

“And I intend to use it…demon,” Nunnally Lamperouge turned her head face Verosika with cold determination. “Now (Cl-Clack!), what are we dealing with?”

“…The Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China,” Verosika lowered her rifle with a tired sigh.

“Hm…” Nunnally looked around the nurse’s office for something. “Do you have spare boots?”
