The Last Light Inn was alive with energy and celebration. The sound of music, laughter, and clinking glasses filled the air.
Tav was enjoying a frosty mug of beer as she noticed Rolan, sitting alone at the bar, brooding and nursing his drink.
She excused herself from Astarion, making her way across the room, playfully slapping his back, trying to lighten the mood. “Cheer up, Rolan!” She said with a grin. “Cal and Lia are safe now! That’s all that matters!”
Rolan grumbled in response, taking a long swig from his bottle. "If it weren't for you insisting, we stay at the grove, we would already be in Baldur's Gate by now," he grumbled. "We wouldn't have had to deal with any of this mess."
With an eye roll, Tav plopped down next to him. "Yeah, because getting slaughtered by goblins sounds like such a fun alternative," she retorted.
"You always think you're so wonderful, don't you Tav?" Rolan snapped. "Always saving those who need rescuing. Did you come over here just to rub it in my face? How useless I was in saving Cal and Lia?"
"Of course not!" Tav protested, wide-eyed. "I came to celebrate with you!”
But Rolan wasn't having it. He downed the rest of his drink before slamming the bottle on the bar.
"Alright, Rolan. I think you've had enough," Lia warned, coming over and taking the empty bottle from him.
"Can't you just be happy that we're all safe instead of acting like Tav only saved us to make you look bad?"
Tav could see the anger and hurt twisting his features as he turned to face her. "Thank you for your heroic actions, oh mighty Tav," he spat, rising to his feet and storming away without another word. His heavy footsteps echoed on the stairs as he made his way up to his room.
"Don't mind Rolan, he doesn't mean it," Lia reassured Tav, patting her shoulder. "He just has a poor way of showing his appreciation."
Tav bit her lip, watching the stairs where Rolan had disappeared. "Maybe I should go apologize," she said to Lia before downing the rest of her drink and hurrying up the stairs.
She knocked on Rolan's door, calling out an apology through the wood. When there was no response, she knocked again. The door swung open suddenly, revealing a furious Rolan with his yellow eyes blazing.
"Come to gloat some more?" he sneered, glaring at her. "You're so self-righteous, you know that?"
Tav met his gaze evenly, taking in his appearance for the first time without his wizard robes. He wore only a pair of light brown trousers, and though she hadn't given much thought to what was under his robes before, she couldn't help but notice how slim and strong he looked. His brown hair was down now, falling past his shoulders in loose waves.
Rolling her eyes at his accusation, Tav pushed past him into the room. "You make it too easy!" she retorted. "I saved you; I saved Cal and Lia...I thought you were this great wizard!"
Rolan's anger flared, and he slammed the door shut behind them, closing the distance between them until their noses nearly touched. "I am a great wizard!" he growled. "Sorry I don't care enough to get myself and my family killed to save everyone else."
"Do you think I'm doing all this for fun?" Tav retorted, frustration bubbling over. "I have a bloody mind flayer tadpole swimming around my skull and I'm just trying to get rid of it! I probably would have figured out a way if you didn't always need me coming to your rescue."
"I never asked for your help!" Rolan seethed. "Maybe you should just keep your nose out of my business."
Tav's whole body shook with anger, as she squared her shoulders and met his glare head on. The tension between them was palpable, crackling in the air like electricity.
"Fine!" she snarled through gritted teeth, her voice dripping with venom. "Next time I'll leave you for the shadows to consume!"
She turned on her heel and stormed away from him, but he grabbed her arm tightly with his clawed fingers, yanking her back and crushing his lips onto hers.
Despite her anger, Tav couldn't resist kissing him back, their lips colliding with fierce intensity as he pushed her body up against the wall with a loud thud and she responded eagerly, tangling her hands in his hair and pulling him closer.
Without breaking the kiss, Rolan fumbled with Tav's pants, hastily untying them and sliding his hand inside.
He teased her clit with one finger, sending shivers of pleasure down her spine as she moaned into his mouth.
"You're already wet," he growled breathlessly against her lips. "I hate you." But Tav only grinned in response as she reached down and felt how hard he was against his pants.
Without hesitation, she untied them and freed his thick cock, running her fingers down its length.
Rolan pulled his hand from between Tav's legs and forcefully pushed her to kneel in front of him. Without hesitation, she took him between her lips, swirling her tongue around the tip as he groaned and gripped his fingers into her hair.
One hand rested on Rolan's thigh as she worked the other up and down his length, feeling herself becoming wetter by the second. Rolan tightened his grip in her hair and thrust himself deeper into her throat. She gagged a bit but relaxed her throat, taking him in as he moved roughly.
His moans grew louder, and his hips bucked wildly, signaling that he was close to finishing. He pulled out of her mouth, gripped her wrist tightly, and pulled her back up to her feet before pushing her onto the bed.
Tav kicked off her pants, yanking her shirt quickly over her head as Rolan climbed overtop of her.
He spread her legs and positioned himself at her entrance. Tav bit her lip as she felt his cock against her, aching for him to be inside of her.
With a grunt, Rolan thrust forward, burying himself deep within Tav. She cried out and dug her fingernails into his shoulder as he began to move, his hips slamming into hers with increasing ferocity.
He pounded into her relentlessly, each stroke powerful and sending shockwaves of pleasure coursing through her body.
Tav wrapped her legs around his waist and dug the heels of her feet into his back, urging him deeper.
Her moans grew louder, and she reached up to tangle her fingers in Rolan's hair again as she pulled him down for a bruising kiss. Their tongues battled with the same forcefulness as their bodies, both consumed by desire.
Rolan's thrusts grew faster and harder, their bodies slamming together with a steady rhythm. The room was filled with the sound of their ragged breaths and muffled moans.
Tav felt the familiar fire building in the pit of her stomach, and she cried out Rolan's name as she tumbled over the edge into blissful release.
Rolan's jaw clenched as he felt her walls tighten around him, driving him closer to his own release.
With one final, powerful thrust, he emptied himself inside Tav, collapsing onto her trembling form, their chests rising and falling in unison as they struggled to catch their breath.
Tav looked up at him, her face glistening with sweat, she saw that his bright yellow eyes were no longer filled with anger but rather a mix of desire and gratitude.
With trembling hands, he cupped her face and stroked her cheeks with his thumbs. "Thank you, for everything." he whispered, pressing his lips softly against hers before rolling off her and sinking into the mattress.
She turned to face him, teasingly puckering her lips and making kissing noises. “If that’s how you act when you hate me, I can only imagine how you'd act if you actually liked me,” she joked.
He rolled his eyes, reaching out to push her away playfully. “I already thanked you once, don't be greedy,” he teased back, a hint of a smile playing on his lips as they both lay there.
