Chapter Text

Prologue
October 31 1989
Haddonfield, Illinois
Inside the old Myers house, a little girl let out terrified screams while her masked killer uncle pursued her, slowly down the old creaky stairs with his knife raised.

A maddened and desperate bloodied old man, Samuel Loomis held the little girl, enticing the Shape further. “Catch the little girl Michael! Then you're home safe!” he shouted. Jamie, tired and in pain all over continued to cry in fear. “Please no! No!” She cried, being dragged further and going limp in Loomis's arms.

How could he betray her? She didn't want to die. Why did her uncle hate her so much? ‘Please don't let it hurt!’ Jamie's terrified and confused mind begged. Loomis suddenly pulled a lever, which dropped a large chain net onto the notorious boogeyman.

Jamie was let go and her eyes went wide, watching as Loomis began to shoot at Michael. Her heart raced with anxiety as she backed away, taking shaky breaths. Michael resisted, grabbing and pulling the shotgun from Loomis. Jamie sobbed, getting onto the window sill to hide her face.

Loomis growled with unbridled rage and grabbed a loose board. “Die Michael! Die die die!” He yelled while violently beating the monster who had plagued Haddonfield for so long. He didn't stop beating him, not even as unbearable pain started building up within the old doctor's chest.

All he thought about at that moment was putting Haddonfield's boogeyman down for good.

Soon, Michael fell down with a thud as did Loomis who could no longer resist the pain of his wounds or chest. All that was left were the sounds of heavy breathing and loud sirens that approached the old house. Jamie sobbed, staring out the cracked window and unsure of how to feel.

20 years later, October 27th 2009
Chicago, Illinois

It was a dreary afternoon in the suburbs, with fall leaves coating the ground and Halloween decorations starting to dot every home. It was a cold day so many people wore fleece and sweaters appropriate for the fall weather.

Vivian Rodriguez had just arrived home after a long shift with the bureau, exhausted. She worked for the FBI as a secretary, keeping hold of documents from a wide range of cases and making sure that the higher ups could get those files when needed to review a case. She had dark brown hair that went down her shoulders and wore a dark blue suit jacket, light blue blouse and slacks that matched the jacket.

As she walked up the steps to her home, she would hear the crunch of glass under her heels and her heart would sink when she realized the door was already half open.

Vivian tensed, nervous and entered her home slowly. “Hello?” She called. The house was completely dark with only the afternoon light seeping in through the windows.

It was deathly quiet. “This better not be some stupid prank!” She called, taking a look around. It was a mess inside, with furniture knocked over in the living room and drawers open. Like whoever had gotten in was searching for something. This couldn't have been the work of some kid attempting an early Halloween prank.

Vivian quietly walked up the stairs and down the hallway to her office that was wide open. She walked inside to find dozens of documents all over the floor, drawers were open and several items had been knocked over, as if in frustration.

What really startled her, was her laptop had been turned on and a newspaper headline was shown on the screen dated November 1st 1989. The headline of the newspaper read, Myers House destroyed in raging fire. Child feared dead. A picture of the destroyed home was shown as well as the photograph of the little girl.

Vivian was in shock and hastily searched for the documents on the 1989 murders that she had kept stored away, only to realize they were gone.

Someone had stolen them but for what reason? Who would want those files unless..oh god, wasn't he locked up!? Slow footsteps could be heard then, Vivian's eyes widening as she made to turn around but it would be too late.

She let out a scream in horror, the last thing she would see would be the black eyes of the remorseless Michael Myers and the glint of his signature butcher knife as he brought it down to stab her. 2 hours later, her home was surrounded by police and FBI SUVs. An older man in his 40s stepped out, light rain beginning to drizzle onto the ground.

He had a cynical, determined gaze as he walked inside. He knew this day would come. That the Evil would escape once again. No prison could've ever held that monster no matter how strong the security was.

He was a seasoned homicide detective named Donald Loomis. As he approached the crime scene, he sighed heavily. “How did it happen?” He asked one of the CSI's on scene. The other man shook his head, taking photos of the deceased. “From behind most likely. She turned, saw her killer. She had no time to react. Whoever did this..he's done it before.” He whispered with a shudder.

Donald nodded quietly, staring at the computer screen. “Whatever did this..is not a man. It's searching for someone.” He said quietly. The CSI worker frowned, confused. “Who?” He asked. Loomis didn't answer the question, even though he already knew. Not again.

He took out his phone, calling a number. “Put me with the head of the BAU. Now.” He said coldly, heading outside and to his car. He was determined that Michael Myers would meet his end once and for all this time.

He had dreamed of putting an end to the boogeyman once and for all. And he knew just the team of FBI agents that could do it. Donald had been studying Michael Myers since the death of Samuel Loomis to the point he had almost become an encyclopedia on the notorious serial killer.
