The hotel room is looked over once more by the two men, making sure everything was clean and that they had all their belongings. Madara holds the door open, letting HiMERU step out into the hallway first, following him to the elevator. They begin their descent to the lobby, Madara stealing a glance at HiMERU. “I’ll pay for the room, since you took the bill last time, it’s only fair.” Madara says. HiMERU opens his mouth to argue, deciding it isn’t worth it. Madara is a stubborn man, always trying to cover the cost of things and not accepting a barter. He sighs, letting Madara win once again. The elevator dings, the door opening on the ground level floor. They step out, Madara walking to the front desk to pay and return the key. HiMERU sits in a chair in the lobby, trying to ignore his steadily growing heartbeat. Madara truly was kind, a shining knight in a world where chivalry is hard to come by these days. Perhaps it was all HiMERU needed, to be swept up by a knight on his mighty steed, rescuing him from the turmoils of everyday life and the struggles that come with it.

Madara returns with a smile, offering his hand to HiMERU almost as if he knew what he was thinking. HiMERU accepts it with a small smile, a light dusting of pink across his cheeks. “ HiMERU thanks you, you truly didn’t have to pay for him …” He says quietly, noticing Madara hasn’t let go of his hand as they walk out of the hotel into the night of the city. They walk to the bus stop, Madara finally letting go of the other man’s hand. “I know, but I like making sure you don’t have to worry about money, I’ve got plenty and I don’t mind spending it on a hotel room for us, the experience is well worth it to me.” He smiles, attempting to quell any worries HiMERU might have. HiMERU simply averts his gaze, Madara’s grin blinding. “...How about you come over to HiMERU’s place next time? That way we can both save money.” HiMERU offers, looking back to be met with not Madara’s usual bright grin, but a softer, more genuine one. “I… I’d like that.” He mumbles, his cheeks becoming warm. Now it’s HiMERU’s turn to wear a smile, taking Madara’s hands in his own. “ Sounds like a plan, then .” They sit in comfortable silence, waiting for the bus to arrive. It eventually does, HiMERU letting go as he gets up to leave. He’s stopped by a warm hand on his shoulder, turning around. “ Promise to text me when you get back ?” Madara asks, HiMERU nodding. “‘ I’ promise .”

The next time they met had in fact, been at HiMERU’s apartment. Madara immediately began looking around, observing the lack of decorations he put up. There were a few pieces of art HiMERU had hung up on the wall, assorted mass produced canvas prints he bought from some store. The apartment was lacking any indication anyone had lived here as it was kept so clean, except for maybe the shoes on the rack by the door and the plates in the dishwasher. “HiMERU hopes his apartment is clean enough, he took some time before you came to make sure it was tidy.” He states, breaking the silence. “Are you kidding? I’ve never seen such a clean place! Though I will say, it could use some more decorations.” Madara states, HiMERU rolling his eyes in response. He walks closer to Madara, awkwardly initiating contact by wrapping his arms around his waist. The taller man smiles, mirroring the action. “ Show me to your bed ?” Madara whispers, and HiMERU obliges.

The evening flew by, both men indulging in pleasure. Madara got up from HiMERU’s bed, but not without complaints from him. “I’m only going to get some towels to clean up, I won’t be long.” HiMERU sighs, pointing him to the direction of the bathroom. “They should be folded on the rack on the wall, use the grey ones.” He instructs. Madara comes back with a few washcloths in hand, one damp to clean their bodies. He gently rubs it over HiMERU’s torso and thighs, any evidence of their activities being washed away. HiMERU’s face turns pink, not used to being taken care of like this. “ You… really don’t have to do this, HiMERU can clean himself …” He says quietly, secretly enjoying being cared for. “I know, but since I’m your guest tonight, I thought I’d at least try to help clean up, express my gratitude.” He replies.

The now dirty washcloths get tossed into the laundry basket in the corner, Madara pulling on his boxers and heading to the kitchen. HiMERU follows, confused. “What are you doing?” He asks, Madara opening the fridge to look for any ingredients. He’s in luck, HiMERU having just enough to make soup, turning on the stove and filling a pot with water. “Making dinner, I’m sure you could use something to eat. I know I could.” HiMERU stands there in awe, he’d never had anyone cook for him, much less after what they had done together. He stands behind Madara, watching him stir the soup. It smells delicious, Madara pressing a spoonful against his lips, giving him a taste test. HiMERU blushes, accepting it. “It’s… quite good…” He admits, Madara humming as he finishes cooking it. “Grab some bowls? It’s about ready now.” HiMERU does as he’s told, searching the cabinets for a pair of bowls to serve the soup in.

HiMERU wanders in his thoughts, thinking about how he didn’t deserve such kind gestures, how Madara didn’t have to do all this for him, yet he did anyway. Is it bad that he wishes he would stay? He thinks about how Madara would hold him as he slept, would he cook breakfast as well? He’s shaken from his thoughts by Madara taking his bowl, washing them in the sink before setting them to dry. “You alright? You kinda zoned out there for a minute.” Madara expresses his concern as he sits beside HiMERU again. “HiMERU is alright, he was just enjoying your cooking.” He feels warm as Madara smiles, sending an arrow through his heart. “I’m glad you liked it! It’s fortunate you had just the right amount of ingredients.”

The rest of the evening carries on, and eventually Madara has to leave. HiMERU walks him out, saying their goodbyes at the door. Madara begins to walk off, HiMERU telling him to wait before he has the time to think about his actions. He turns back around, gentle hands pulling him down for a kiss. “ Thank you for tonight…” Madara freezes, pink flooding his cheeks as HiMERU closes the door.

CrazyB practice was almost over, HiMERU taking a drink of water when he sees a familiar mop of brown hair standing at the door, smiling. He walks over, greeting him with a small smile. “Are you here for Oukawa, Mikejima?” He concludes from his practice uniform. “Yep, I know you guys are about done, so I decided to drop in a little early.” Madara states. A loud cackle pierces HiMERU’s ears, a certain annoying redhead coming up behind him and resting his elbow on his shoulder. “What’s this, your boyfriend here to pick ya up for your hot date?” He laughs, HiMERU feeling rage flow through his body. He shoves him off, ignoring his comment. “He’s here to pick up Oukawa for Double Face practice, obviously.” A slight tinge of red stains his cheeks, Madara noticing and smirking to himself. Rinne walks off, going to bother Niki some more. HiMERU sighs, letting his anger subside. “I was thinking…” Madara begins filling the silence. “We should get lunch together one day when we aren’t busy, my treat.” HiMERU is caught off guard by his proposition, simply nodding his head. “ HiMERU would like that. ” He wants to spend more time with Madara, truly get to know the man who’s plagued his thoughts as of late.

Kohaku clears his throat as the two stare into each other’s eyes, mumbling something homophobic. “Are ya just gonna stand there all day, I got somewhere ta be, ya know.” He says, annoyed. HiMERU coughs, giving one last look to Madara, nodding his head. “I’ll text you after practice, we can sort things out then?” HiMERU only smiles, anxiously awaiting his text.

HiMERU waits at a table outside the cafe they had decided to meet at, sipping a cup of water. It was a rather nice day outside, a few clouds in the sunny sky, a slight breeze, perfect weather for meeting up with his… friend? HiMERU hadn’t quite figured out what to label their strange relationship as, they’re too close to be considered acquaintances, they know each other’s bodies like their own. They weren’t quite friends, HiMERU feels there’s more between them than that. The more time they spend together, he feels as if the line between friendship and intimacy blurs, their interactions far too tender to be regarded ‘friendly’. In the midst of HiMERU’s thoughts, a boisterous laugh rings out from behind, just the man he was waiting for.

“Sorry I’m late, Wataru-San dragged me around for a bit back at the dorms, haha~” He sits down across from HiMERU, looking over the menu. “Have you ordered yet?” HiMERU shakes his head, resting his chin on his palm. “HiMERU was just going to get a salad, he isn’t very hungry.” Madara looks at him with a look in his eyes HiMERU can’t quite decipher, something between worry and skepticism. “Well, I think I’m going to get a turkey sandwich, I’ve been wanting something filling since breakfast.” Madara states. The waiter comes to take their orders, Madara asking for a basket of fries as well. “I don’t think you’ll make it to dinner on just a salad, let Mama take care of you, alright?” HiMERU looks to the side, his face slightly flushed. He hadn’t thought of it before, but this is the first time the two had met up together outside of intimacy, a warm pink painting his cheeks.

The two converse about various subjects as they wait for their food, Madara eating a few fries as they chat. “Has Oukawa been doing alright at practice lately? He hurt his arm during a mis- Double Face practice,” Madara almost slips up, nearly revealing the true purpose of his and Kohaku’s unit. “I hope he’s been healing just fine.” HiMERU nods, sipping his water. “HiMERU hasn’t noticed, he assumes Oukawa is doing alright.” Madara sighs in relief, grabbing another fry. He leans over and presses it to HiMERU’s lips, silently asking him to eat while they wait. He reluctantly takes a bite, looking away from Madara. “ HiMERU doesn’t need your help eating …” He sighs, taking another bite. “ HiMERU supposes he is a little hungry …” Madara smiles, watching as HiMERU eats a few more fries. “Glad to know you won’t starve, at least.” He comments, the food arriving at the table. “Ooh, smells good, want a bite?” Madara offers his sandwich to HiMERU, who shakes his head. “HiMERU has his own food, but he thanks you for your offer.”

They eat their lunch together, discussing their schedules for the week and plans for their spare time. “You know, I don’t think we’ve ever just gotten together to chat, it’s refreshing. I like learning more about you.” Madara blurts out, HiMERU’s face turning pink. “ HiMERU feels the same .” He finishes his salad, resting his cheek against his hand as he listens to Madara ramble about whatever is on his mind, his voice comforting. He smiles to himself, finding how expressive Madara is when he talks about subjects he’s passionate about rather… cute? He brushes the thought away, focusing on what he’s saying. “And I got some motor oil for Baby-Chan and cleaned her up, she’s looking good as new!” HiMERU smiles softly as Madara takes a bite of his sandwich. “You’ll have to show HiMERU one day, he’s sure your bike looks very nice.” He notices how Madara’s cheeks become rosy, smiling. “I’d be happy to, maybe next time we meet I’ll bring her.” The waiter comes by with the check, Madara taking it before HiMERU is able to. “You should let HiM-” “Let me pay this time, I said it would be my treat, after all.” HiMERU is cut off, sighing. He had said he would pay, but HiMERU had let Madara pay for things more often lately, and he doesn’t want to become a burden to him. “ Please let HiMERU pay next time, then… ” He whispers, hoping Madara can hear him.

+1

Sunlight filters in through the blinds, causing HiMERU to wake up. A strong pair of arms are wrapped around him, the man holding him close still asleep. HiMERU smiles, the peaceful expression Madara wears as he sleeps makes him happy, knowing he’s getting some good rest. He takes a look around the room, unable to distinguish what belongs to him and what belongs to Madara. Their belongings had blended together in his apartment, it started with a change of clothes and a toothbrush, but now it seems Madara’s decorations hang on the walls and line the shelves, bringing a lively air to the place. How long has it been now? He doesn’t remember ever telling him he could move in, everything just kind of… fell in place that way. It doesn’t bother him, he actually rather enjoys Madara’s company, knowing he’ll always come home to the apartment filled with the smell of his cooking, always delicious. He doesn’t say it, but Madara’s cooking is his absolute favourite, there’s just something about it that fills his chest with warmth, receiving a homemade meal from someone he cares about. HiMERU lays his head against Madara’s chest, falling back asleep to the gentle sound of his heartbeat.
