SIRIUS BLACK AND GIDEON PREWETT: MESSY BREAK UP?
Sirius Black, former actor turned musician, and Gideon Prewett, model, got into a messy fight this weekend after the release of Black's new album ‘SOUR' and we don't blame them! Read more...
“God, will they ever get out of my business?” groaned Sirius from the couch where he lay with his head buried into a pillow. “I should've known this would happen.”
“It happens to the best of us, it'll pass. In an hour they’ll find a new story to talk about.” James Potter was saying as he played with Regulus’ hair who was lying in his lap.
Sirius rolled over and squawked as he fell off the couch and landed flat on his back. “Maybe the press will stop, but not Gid, he says I embarrassed him and ‘tarnished his reputation’” he mocked with his hands in a high-pitched voice. “Like he didn't do that enough by himself already,” he whispered as he rolled his eyes.
Sirius and Gideon had never had the best relationship. They only dated because they were both tired of being played for their fame by people who pretended to like them to climb the ranks, so they thought it might work but now... Sirius knew it was a mistake. The more he learned about Gideon as they dated, the more he started to hate him. First it was the way he would act so entitled in public, then it was how he flaunted their relationship, then it was how he took his coffee, then it was the way he said ketchup like ‘katch-up’, and so on.
Gideon wasn't a bad person, per se, but he wasn't a good person for Sirius. So, like any musician would do, he wrote about it. First, it was one song, then two, and suddenly half his new album was about him and yes, he knows it was a douchey move to release it before they broke up, but could you blame him? Gideon was too concerned with his public image that he never listened to Sirius when he tried to talk to him so he said, ‘fuck it’ and decided this would be the way to do it.
Now, Sirius knew Gideon would get mad, but he assumed it would be an angry text, even a phone call. What he didn't expect was him coming to find Sirius immediately after the press started talking about ‘trouble in paradise’ which just happened to be when he was leaving a meeting and giving it to him right out in the open.
According to Gideon, he hadn't even listened to the album, ‘it wasn't worth it’ he had said, but as soon as he heard what the news was saying, he looked and was ‘horrified’. Apparently, Sirius ruined ‘everything they had’, which was a lot in his mind, he also said that Sirius didn't deserve his fame, there was a sprinkle of name-calling, and then to seal it all off, stated that he understands now why Sirius was disowned by his parents and stormed off.
Since that, his fans and the news had been going ballistic over it. His fans were more concerned with the album though, and telling him how amazing it was, whereas the news could only talk about how he and Gideon were having this so-called ‘trouble in paradise’ which brings them here. It had been a week since the album's release and three days since the fight. All his interviews and meetings were finished so James, Regulus, and Peter came over. They were crammed into his small living room and looking through the numerous news articles being posted about him. If they weren't about the fight, they were about his switch to music from acting, if it wasn't about that, it was about how he was a nepo baby and given his fame, and if it wasn't that, maybe there was a few compliments on his album.
He had been advised by his team to not mention the fight or Gideon to anyone. No interviewers, no social media posts about it, nothing. Because of this, everyone seemed to have their own ideas of what happened, which honestly didn't bother Sirius as much as he thought it would.
Regulus looked over to Sirius from where he was lying and rolled his eyes. “Come on Sirius, you didn't even like the guy. This should be a blessing, now you can go after that guy you've been obsessing over for forever, hmm?” he said with an eyebrow raised.
Sirius raised his head to look at him, “How do you know about that?”
“I'm dating your best friend... also I'm your brother, idiot, of course I know.”
“Ugh, whatever. Also, absolutely not. How would I even meet Remus Lupin if I wanted to? He lives in fucking England. Also, he's completely out of my league. And I just went through a breakup, I need to let my heart heal.” he said as he dramatically held a hand over his heart and pouted.
“We both know your heart's probably much better broken up with Gideon than with him,” Peter said matter of factly.
“What is with this attack on me today? I'm Sirius Black, I am import-” he was cut off by his phone ringing and looked over to see his manager's name flashing across the screen. “Hold on boys, I've got to take this,” he said before he picked up the phone. “Good afternoon, Minnie. How may I help you on this fine evening?” he said with a smile across his face as James and Peter leaned in to hear what she had to say.
“Mr. Black I- you know what, never mind. I have some important news for you.”
“Do tell!”
“I have just had a meeting with Mr. Dumbledore, and he was wondering if you would be interested in going on a tour. It would be at least a couple of months long and...” She kept speaking but her voice faded out as Sirius’ eyes lit up and his mouth opened in shock.
“Are you serious? Like you actually want...” he trailed off.
“And you would have- what? Yes, I'm serious Mr. Black. Were you even listening?”
“I'll do it, Minnie! Thank you!”
“Wait-”
Sirius hung up the phone and threw it to the side as he flung his arms to the sky and let out a loud ‘whoop’. “IM GOING ON TOUR BITCHES!”
James and Peter sprung up to their feet and pulled Sirius up by the arms as they all hugged and danced around. Regulus sat on the floor watching with a hidden smile for his brother's success. Ever since they were able to get out of that house five years ago and quit acting, he had been hoping that their careers would blossom, and they could prove their parents wrong. As the boys spun around, he sent a silent thank you to whoever made this happen and sat back against the couch.
“So, when is it? And where are you going? What's the vibe gonna be? Give us the details!” James squealed as he bounced on the tips of his toes.
“Erm...” Sirius looked sheepish as he rubbed the back of his neck. “I may have not listened to any of that...”
“WHAT? Pads, you gotta call back, we need to know!” Peter shouted to him and reached for the phone that was flung to the side.
“Okay, okay, I will,” Sirius said as he pulled up Minerva's number and let it ring a couple of times before she answered.
“I assume your freak out is over now, Mr. Black, and you are ready to listen?” she said with a strictly professional voice.
“Yes, I'm sorry. I’m ready now. Spare me no details.”
So, she went on for the next fifteen minutes about their plans and ideas for the tour. He would go across America and travel to Canada to come back and finish off the tour in his home state, California. They were hoping to have the tour be around three months long and wanted to go all out for the shows. Since his music mostly leaned towards the pop side of music which attracted lots of teens and young adults and was mostly upbeat and dancey, they wanted to have backup dancers to round out the feeling of a full production.
Sirius felt lightheaded as this was explained to all of them through the speaker of his phone. He reached blindly beside him to grab hands with James and Peter who sent smiles towards him and reassuring nods. He took a deep breath and couldn't help but imagine himself on stage, singing the music that he worked so hard to write and maybe even having people sing the words back to him.
“And lastly, I was hoping that since you made the songs with them that Mr. Potter and Mr. Pettigrew would accompany you as your band. How does that sound?” she finished.
The resounding cheers from the other end of the phone must have given her the answer she was looking for because she made an affirmative noise and bid them goodbye telling them she would email any updates she got.
The rest of the night was spent in a haze of celebration and happiness. Suddenly, all thoughts of Gideon flew from his head and all the worries of people liking his music disappeared. All that was left was the giddiness of being able to show the world who he was through his words. They partied while his album played on loop in the background, and nothing could bring them down at that moment. As the hours ticked past, the party wound down and they all ended up back on the couch in a mess of arms and legs. Their smiles were genuine and their hearts were full.
"I just want to say before we all inevitably fall asleep, I'm so thankful for you guys and all You’ve done for me, and us in these past years.” Sirius started to say.
“Oh, come on Pads, stop getting sentimental,” Peter whined, slightly tipsy on the drinks he had.
“No, I'm serious... well I'm always Sirius but especially right now. I'm really grateful for everything. I mean, I wouldn't be here without you and I wouldn't be living this dream if you hadn't helped me not only write these songs but get out of that house. I know me and Reg are both forever in your dept but...” he leaned over and rested his cheek on James’ shoulder, “I'm just so happy to be here.” he looked up into James’ eyes and then over to Peter and they sat in silence for a moment wrapped in the comfort of their love.
James glanced at Sirius who had a tear forming in his eye and burst out laughing. “No more, no more, we're supposed to be happy and excited, no more reminiscing. We're done. C'mon, it's bedtime now.” he stood up from the couch which made Regulus roll halfway off and be dragged up by James who took his hand. “We're off to the guest room, don't stay up too late!”
Sirius rolled his eyes as they left and looked over to Peter who had passed out during his talk and tucked him under a blanket before going to his room and passing out as soon as his head hit the pillow.

He could feel the light hit his eyes before he registered being awake and groaned at the stinging he felt in his eyes. Sirius rolled over and buried his face into the pillow to shield the sun from his eyes but soon realized why he had woken up. His phone had buzzed on the side of his table, and he looked over to see what was up.
An email from Minerva signified that there must have been some sort of update on the tour or something to do with the album. He didn't expect there to be news this soon after he accepted but he guessed they had already had quite a few ideas, so they were prepared for him to say yes.
He tapped on the email and rubbed his eyes to clear away the blurriness from the early hour. As soon as the page loaded his eyes went wide and he smacked his phone down to the bed.
“I'm so fucked.”
