Summary:

This is going in circles. Tomura decides to try a different tactic. “You know, your eyes are as clear as the ocean.”

The sudden switch clearly dumbfounds Dabi, because he blinks a couple times. “Well, because they’re blue.”

Tomura has to bite back a laugh. “It’s a compliment, you idiot. Means your eyes are pretty.”

Dabi grimaces and turns his head to the side, hand going up to hide his cheek. After a few seconds, smoke starts curling up from behind it. “Shut up,” he snaps, “stop making fun of me.”

“Why would I make fun of you?” Tomura asks, unsure of what’s going on. He’s never seen Dabi react like this. “I’m completely serious, Dabi. You have nice eyes.” He leans to the side a little bit, tries to get a good look at Dabi’s face to figure out what’s going on.

With a sound that Tomura completely fails to decipher, Dabi shoves him aside and quickly leaves the kitchen.

But that little glimpse before he reacted was enough to tell him, to his surprise and absolute delight, that Dabi had been blushing.

-

Dabi's too dense to understand flirting, and Tomura decides that is the best way to express his interest. Surely this will go well.

Notes:

flirty dabi is fun but i also like when he has the dumb todoroki genes.

i also like how tomura just does not give a shit and will say and do what he wants. this fic’s second title can basically be “Tomura discovers how to be an absolute menace to everyone around him”

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

It starts, as most things do, with a stupid, drunken dare.

“I dare you to flirt with Dabi for the next week,” Spinner announces, spilling some of his drink on himself but being too far gone to care. Magne lets out an “Ooh” in excitement, giggling as she peeks over at Tomura.

“There’s no way Dabi’ll like that,” Twice slurs, and Tomura looks at him coolly.

“Wanna bet?” he says, and that’s that.

Now, Tomura is not known for being romantic.

With the life set out for him, he’s never once thought about romance. It has no place in his life, and even with Sensei gone and no longer breathing down his neck, he just doesn’t see a reason to pursue anyone. He’s homeless, on the run, and has bigger things to worry about, like ensuring the destruction of this worthless society.

But unfortunately, he’s a man of his word. And that includes agreeing to a dare that he doubts the rest of the League even remembers, drunk as they were (Tomura wasn’t, because he’s not about to get drunk around them considering his quirk).

He swore to flirt with Dabi for a week, and make Dabi like it. And that’s what he’ll do.

The next day, half the League are down with hangovers. The only ones who aren’t are him, Compress, who’s far too classy to get blackout drunk on shitty alcohol, Toga, and Dabi, because he rarely spends downtime with them. That’s fine. No one’s going to force him into anything.

Speaking of which, Dabi comes by later, sees everyone lying in a mess on the ground, and scoffs. “It’s three in the afternoon. What are you all doing wasting time like this?”

Twice moans in response, and Toga pats him on the back in sympathy.

Tomura sighs. The dare hangs heavily over him, but he’s not going to do anything about it right now. “Hangovers. They were all drinking last night.”

Dabi’s face darkens. “Pathetic. You are all an embarrassment.”

Tomura rolls his eyes after sharing a look with Toga. “Do you have anything to report, Dabi?” He stands, leading him to a side room with a gentle hand on his elbow so they can talk without disturbing the others (and also so Dabi stops needlessly insulting them).

“Nothing. All the potential recruits are an insult to our mission.” Dabi frowns deeply. “All they stand for is senseless violence. No conviction, ambition.”

“You ever think maybe you’re too harsh on them?” Although, Tomura doesn’t care, not really. All of them know Dabi’s never actually going to get a recruit, but he seems so determined to do the job they just go along with it.

He blinks. Tilts his head. “No. We need people who want to make a change.”

Tomura leans against the cracked, crumbling wall. “And you want to?”

Dabi nods. Tomura doubts he’s aware, but a faint light sparks to life in his eyes. They’re so dead otherwise, this topic must really mean something to him. “Yes, I came here to fulfill Stain’s will and destroy the corruption plaguing hero society.”

How dramatic , is his first thought. His second is the dare. Tomura had been hesitant to do anything in front of the others, despite them being aware of it, just because Dabi is an intensely private person and trying to flirt with him when there’s an audience will doubtlessly cause problems. But when it’s just the two of them…

He thinks of the body language lessons Sensei had given him. Straightens up, keeps his arms open. A slight curve at the corner of his lips. “Well, I have no doubt you’ll manage.” Even succeeds in keeping any distaste out of his voice at the thought of Stain. “You’re my right-hand man for a reason.”

Maybe it’s not overt, but Tomura works in subtleties when he’s not on the battlefield. And he has a feeling it will go over better with Dabi, too.

“Okay,” Dabi says after a pause. Looks mildly confused, but not at all annoyed the way Tomura expected. Maybe… that was a bit too subtle.

“I’m serious,” Tomura insists, thinking he’s just going to freak Dabi out with how much he’s layering it on but still wanting to gauge his reactions for what is the right amount of flirting, “you’re super capable, especially with…” He searches for something quickly, lands on, “Those hands of yours.”

He’s going to kill himself.

Meant to say how much control he has over his quirk, the graceful movements he makes as he traps his victims in a blue inferno, but of course it came out like that.

Dabi stares. “My hands? What do they have to do with—you and your fucking hand fetish.”

Tomura is never recovering from this. He’s going to decay himself right this fucking moment. And then he opens his mouth again, despite his brain screaming at him not to. “That’s my family, don’t be gross.”

“What.” And Tomura can tell Dabi is starting to get actually creeped out, so he just turns and flees calmly walks away before he makes this conversation worse, if that’s even possible.

Tomura spends hours poring over Internet articles on different methods of flirting. He is not letting that disaster ever happen again.

He tries again with a new plan in mind and approaches Dabi the next day.

“Where’s your family?” Dabi asks blandly, looking up at him from where he’s picking at a can of plain, unsalted vegetables.

“Dead,” Tomura says, confused, and then realizes he must mean the hands. Thought it would show more sincerity if he has them off and his face is visible.

“You got rid of those gross hands?”

“Oh, no, those are the hands of my dead family members,” Tomura says. “Sensei makes me wear them so I can remember the hatred I feel for them and destroy everything.”

Dabi suddenly looks intrigued. “Maybe I should try that with my family too.”

Tomura doesn’t even want to know. “Never mind that. I, uh, wanted to apologize. Didn’t mean to creep you out with the hand thing yesterday. Meant you’re good at using your quirk,” he explains.

“I literally don’t care,” Dabi says. Tomura didn’t expect anything else, but at least Dabi knows now. “Hey, you want this?” He gestures at the nearly full can.

Tomura frowns at him. Pointedly looks at the way his clothes are hanging off his frame. “You should eat more.” Gets an idea, hates it instantly, but says it anyway because he has six days and it’s Dabi . “I have something you could try putting in your mouth.”

“Is it better than these soggy vegetables?” Dabi asks, picking up a limp green bean and glaring at it. Doesn’t even sound like he registered the innuendo, unless he’s choosing to ignore it. Tomura didn’t prepare for this possibility. He opens his mouth. Closes it.

“...Probably not,” he says eventually.

“Then either shut up or leave me alone,” Dabi says.

And Tomura does, at a loss for what to say or do.

“How do you flirt,” he asks Magne, desperate for some sort of advice, and she seemed like the best person to ask besides Compress. But Compress is… a bit old-fashioned, so Magne is his first choice.

Magne stares at him.

Tomura quickly explains the situation, figuring she must have forgotten about the dare since she was drunk at the time.

“Oh, that? You’re actually doing it?” Guess not. Magne bursts into laughter. “S—sorry, Shigaraki, I guess I was too drunk to say it at the time, but—Dabi’s too dense to recognize flirting.”

That was what Tomura was hoping was not the case. Makes everything much, much more harder. “How do you know?”

Her cheeks dust a light pink, and she looks away shyly. “I… tried flirting with him a little bit before the training camp raid. At first, I just thought he wasn’t interested but then I eventually realized he didn’t know it was flirting. And I was too scared to admit anything because he’s, you know, so I just never told him directly.”

Tomura nods slowly, digesting her words. “Does… this flirting thing bother you, if you’re still interested in him? I can stop.”

Magne quickly shakes her head. “No, no, it’s fine. It wasn’t anything serious, I just found him kind of hot.” She bites her lip. “But, uh, Shigaraki, what’s the goal of this?”

Tomura shrugs. Truth be told, he hadn’t really thought that far ahead. Sure, he’s good at analyzing and coming up with plans, but he finds his best ideas are in the heat of the moment. “Something about making him like the flirting.”

Magne frowns. “That seems kind of mean. I mean, if he ends up liking you because of this, and it turns out to be a dare, isn’t that just playing with his emotions? It would be like you were all laughing at him behind his back.”

Tomura’s instinctive response is that Dabi has no feelings, but he bites it back, because Magne has a point, and regardless of how Dabi would feel about it, that is needlessly cruel. And he would never do that to another one of his allies, so Dabi shouldn’t be any different. Tomura hadn’t even considered that, competitive as he is. “You’re right. I… yeah, I’ll give it up, it’s not fair to him.”

“Good.” Smiles at him brightly. “You’re a good leader, Shigaraki.”

He rubs his neck, looking away. “...Thanks.”

He explains everything to Spinner, who didn’t even remember daring him to do that, but he ends up agreeing with Tomura that it would be a shitty thing to do, and that’s that.

No more flirting with Dabi, who doesn’t even understand it.

But then, he finds himself watching Dabi more often now that the idea has been put in his mind.

Stares at his face, especially. He has longer lashes than Tomura would expect, covered in a thick layer of mascara. He wears smudgy eyeliner that only serves to add a smokiness to his eyes. His lips are full, pouty. His face is round, which somehow makes him appear softer, younger, despite how dangerous and deadly he is. And Tomura can just imagine that if he weren’t scarred all over, society would consider him absurdly attractive.

That’s not to say Tomura thinks the scars are gross or unappealing. In his personal opinion, the scars only enhance his beauty, considering they show what he’s gone through, and—

And fuck. He finds Dabi pretty.

He tries to bury that realization, focus instead on leading the League and figuring out a plan on what to do next now that they’re resourceless.

And it’s almost easy to do. With how much he has to get done, there’s not a lot of time left in the day for him to sit there and fixate on meaningless things like how cute Dabi’s triple nose studs are.

Key word being day, because at night, he finds himself dreaming of ocean blue eyes with blazing flames drowning him in them.

Becomes impossible to ignore when they raid a rival gang’s base and it ends with Dabi’s face beaten and bloody from getting surprised in hand to hand. He and Tomura handled it quickly, so Dabi is fine, just bruised, but his heart had nearly stopped when he heard a loud thud and found Dabi on the ground under several gang members.

He keeps telling himself he’d react the same if it were anyone else, and it’s not even a lie, but—if something had happened to Dabi, Tomura would have realized his… uh, fascination with him too late.

Tomura is not going to admit anything. There’s no point. Dabi definitely doesn’t reciprocate, and it’s not like he’s deeply in love with him. Just finds him attractive. Maybe thinks he’s a little annoyingly cute with his bitchy behavior.

But. Perhaps he can—fuck around a little, since this little thing is not going anywhere. Tease Dabi just a bit. See what happens—if he doesn’t like it he’ll stop immediately (and he isn’t even sure what he’s aiming for with this, just thinks it’ll be fun to try out flirting with someone since he’s never had the chance before, and he’s found it’s easier than he thought).

With a semi-functional base acquired, the League is in higher spirits. Toga insists on doing something fun together to celebrate, and Tomura figures it’ll be a good idea. It’ll help in building morale and all that.

“I’m out,” Dabi says immediately, getting up from the couch and heading for his room.

“That’s okay, I love to watch you leave,” Tomura says, despite Dabi having a literal concave ass that is currently covered by his long coat, and Spinner chokes.

Dabi turns, frowns at him. His face is still bruised, cuts in the process of healing. “Well, then I’m staying.” Sounds the slightest bit put-off, and Tomura wonders why until he realizes Dabi probably interpreted the words as “I hate you and want you gone.”

Well. Shit.

“I didn’t mean it like that, I don’t hate you,” he says, feeling everyone’s intense gazes on him. Toga is giggling behind her hands, and he’s pretty sure Spinner is dying with the way he’s coughing, but he has to make sure Dabi doesn’t think his boss hates him for absolutely no reason. “I meant—” Cuts himself off before he decides he doesn’t give a shit because he’s never been one to be self-conscious. “Nice ass.” There. No way Dabi can misinterpret that. The League is losing it around them, but he ignores them for now.

Dabi stares at him. “What does that have to do with me leaving?”

Tomura stares back. “Because you—when you leave you’re—actually, never mind.” He moves to Spinner’s side, throws out a, “Just do what you want” as he does so.

Dabi, clearly still confused, turns and walks out the room without another word. Tomura doesn’t watch him, preoccupied with making sure Spinner is okay and not about to pass out.

There has to be something Dabi will understand. He can’t actually be that dense, can he?

(Later on, when everything’s changed and Dabi’s revealed his identity and Tomura gets to know his family better, he realizes that yes, he absolutely is that dense and it’s genetic.)

“What the hell?” Spinner says once he’s not at risk of choking to death. “‘Nice ass ?’ ‘I love to watch you leave?’ What drove you to say that to Dabi of all people?”

“Yeah!” Twice agrees. “I didn’t know you were such a player, Shigaraki.”

Tomura rolls his eyes. “I wanted to see how he would react.” Better than admitting he maybe has a crush on quite possibly the worst choice imaginable for a partner.

“That’s not true,” Toga pipes up. “I can smell your blood when you’re around him.” She grins widely, clasping her hands together in front of her chin. Tomura stands there, resigned to the fact that Toga will just spill his secret because no one in this group has any sense of boundaries (that’s what makes them them, though). “He likes Dabi!”

And that brings a whole new round of questions, to Tomura’s exasperation.

So the League knows now. And they tease him incessantly about it. But they’re also, for some odd reason, supportive despite Tomura having awful taste in men.

“You just need to get to know Dabi more,” Magne tells him cheerfully. “I know you said it’s mostly physical, but I’m sure he’s not bad. He’s just… you know, obviously traumatized.”

“I’m not looking for a relationship with him, though,” Tomura says for what must be the hundredth time. “We’re villains. We don’t have a lot of room for stuff like that.”

Twice butts in from where he and Toga are painting each other’s nails. “You should still try to be his friend! He needs friends, and you do, too.” Magne nods in agreement.

“Friends?” Tomura says quietly. The word is foreign to him. Only ever had subordinates. Allies, at the most.

“Yeah!” Toga exclaims. “We’re your friends, aren’t we?” There’s a hint of hesitation, almost unnoticeable to anyone who doesn’t know Toga as well as they do. A tone that speaks of years of neglect, abuse, and isolation. Years of trauma and being trained to believe she’s unlovable.

Tomura wants to insist they’re simply his allies, the way Sensei ingrained into his mind. But he’s never been able to bring himself to hurt any of them, and so he nods. “Yeah. We’re friends.”

The blinding smile Toga gives him is absolutely worth it, although he doesn’t know why.

As much as Tomura hates to admit it, they have a point. Dabi is his subordinate—his right-hand man, at that—and he should make an effort to get to know him better. Never really pushed Dabi since he’s been insistent on keeping a distance from them all, but it can’t hurt to try.

Seeks him out in the morning before Dabi heads out to do some more “recruiting.” Dabi is leaning against one of the kitchen counters looking at his phone. Doesn’t even glance up as Tomura enters, which is normal.

“Hey,” he says, deciding to start simple. Dabi grunts in response. “You sleep well?”

Dabi looks up then. Narrows his eyes at Tomura. “Why does that matter to you?”

Tomura opens a cupboard, grabs one of the packs of nutritional biscuits he’s gotten used to eating. “I’m your leader, aren’t I? I need to make sure you’re all doing well.” He decays the wrapper and takes a bite.

Quiet. Then, “Stop poking your nose into my business.”

“A little grumpy today, I see,” Tomura says in the most playful tone he can manage. Generally speaks in the same flat affect as Dabi, but he’s trying . Thinks he succeeds.

A scoff, and Tomura looks up in time to see Dabi toss his phone on the counter in frustration. “What do you want, boss?”

Huh? What made him jump to the conclusion that Tomura wants something from him? After a pause, Tomura says, “I don’t want anything. I thought I should try to get to know you more. That’s all.”

Dabi straightens from where he was slouching. Stalks over to him and stares directly at his face. “I’m not interested in making nice with any of you. I’m here to do a job, and that’s it.”

Tomura sighs heavily. He knew Dabi would be difficult, but it’s still frustrating. Still, he pushes down the anger and annoyance. Isn’t going to let himself ever lose his temper against any of them. He sets the biscuits aside for now and stands up straight himself. “I understand that, Dabi. But we’re a team. Is it so bad that I get to know you?”

Teasingly, he flicks a lock of Dabi’s hair that determinedly sticks up, separate from the other strands. A bit like Dabi himself, he thinks.

Dabi’s face is like marble. Dead expression doesn’t shift for a moment. “There is no need to get to know me. My life’s goal is to destroy hero society, and there’s no room for anything else.”

“Mine too,” Tomura says. “But the others are all close and get along. It won’t hurt you to spend more time with us.”

“You don’t know that,” Dabi says darkly.

But that little glimpse before he reacted was enough to tell him, to his surprise and absolute delight, that Dabi had been blushing

He had only said that in an attempt to flatter Dabi and make him more amenable to what he was saying. But with his newfound knowledge that Dabi can absolutely get flustered, Tomura is going to exploit this in every way he can.

“I love how you do your makeup,” he tells him as he passes by in the hall.

“Your lips are so kissable, anyone ever tell you that?” When Dabi frowns at something on his phone.

“The way you move your hands is so graceful,” as Dabi is practicing with his quirk.

Even throws out a, “Could stare at your tits all day” while Dabi’s leaned over the counter, the collar of his shirt slipping low.

And each time, Dabi just turns a lovely shade of pink and finds an excuse to leave.

Of course, whenever Dabi sees him now he immediately turns in the opposite direction and exits as fast as he can.

After the fifth or so time he does this in front of someone else, Magne confronts him. “What did you do?”

“Why do you think I did something?” Tomura asks, bewildered.

“Dabi keeps leaving every time you show up. Did you upset him somehow?” And Magne actually looks disappointed, her eyebrows slanted downwards, an expression that makes Tomura’s chest twinge, slightly.

“No, I—” He sighs. “I’ve been complimenting him because I like how he gets all flustered and starts blushing, and I’m pretty sure he’s just avoiding me out of embarrassment.”

“...Oh.” And then she squeals in excitement. “That’s so cute! I need to see him blush like that, it must be adorable.”

“...It was pretty cute,” he admits. Big bad villain Dabi, getting flustered over a little compliment? Tomura would have never believed it if he hadn’t seen it.

Magne smiles, then she bites her lip, looking off to the side. “And sorry, Shigaraki. I shouldn’t have accused you like that. I know you’re not the type of person to hurt us. It was wrong of me.”

“It’s fine.” He really can’t blame Magne, he probably would have thought the same thing if he was in her position. “It was fair considering how obvious it is that he’s avoiding me.”

“Still, I shouldn’t have cornered you. Forgive me?”

Tomura has never experienced anyone apologizing and asking him forgiveness, ever. Even if Sensei upset him, he was told to get over it. Was never allowed to just hurt . And he doesn’t want Magne to feel that same way he did. “Of course,” he tells her, and the way she smiles makes him feel all warm in a way he doesn’t entirely understand. Especially when her strong arms wrap around him tightly.

“We should spend more time together,” she says into his ear. “You’re such a good friend. I want to get to know you more.”

“Nah, you’re the good friend here. But yeah, we can hang out,” he says, and hugs her back after a pause. The first time he’s ever hugged anybody of his own volition.

They do spend more time together after that. He’s used to talking about video games and social justice theory with Spinner, but Magne hasn’t touched a video game in her life besides occasional Mario Kart, so he starts to expand his topics of conversation.

They talk about life, what they like to do for fun, their favorite foods and snacks. She talks to him about her struggles being seen as the woman she is, about how she’s always had trouble getting hormones and surgeries because of the hoops they need to jump through for those in Japan.

He promises her that he’ll try as hard as possible to locate Sensei’s doctor, who’ll be able to provide her anything she wants. Or, failing that, they can use Toga’s quirk to steal estrogen. He has no doubt she’ll jump at the chance to help her Big Sis Magne.

And Magne bursts into tears at that, hugs him tightly. Says no one besides other trans women have bothered to listen to her like that before. Tomura hates that she has to be so appreciative of someone doing the literal bare minimum. He holds her until she stops crying.

Eventually, Dabi slows down with his avoidance, but he still refuses to be left alone with Tomura. He was starting to get worried Dabi felt harassed, was ready to apologize and promise Dabi whatever he wanted to ensure he felt comfortable around him, but then he saw Dabi make eye contact with him when it was just the two of them, turn bright red, and immediately rush out the room. So he’s pretty certain there’s something else going on.

Next time they’re all gathered together for a mission plan, ensuring Dabi won’t avoid him (at first, anyway), he turns to him and says, “Do you mind being paired with me, because I think you’re beautiful when you use your quirk and I want to watch you.”

Dabi sneers at him, but then quickly ducks his head, covers his face with his hands, and starts smoking. “I don’t care what you do, you freak,” he snarls, clearly mortified. The rest of the League is absolutely delighted to see this development.

Tomura, never one to stop himself even when he probably should, leans even closer and says, “Come on, move those hands and let me see that gorgeous face of yours.”

A pause. Then Dabi bursts into flames.

There’s a moment of panic, then Twice and Compress grab their water bottles from the table and empty them onto Dabi. Tomura is pretty certain the shock of suddenly getting doused is what gets Dabi to stop immolating himself more than anything.

He finally removes his hands, soaking wet and dripping hair falling into his face. He’s still totally red as he shouts, “What’s your fucking problem? You tryna mock me or something?”

Tomura stands. “Guys, get out.” And for once they listen. Once they’re all gone, he straightens and says, “No, I meant everything I said, and I like to see you blush. It’s cute.”

Proving his point, Dabi somehow gets even redder. Mercifully, he doesn’t set himself on fire again. “I’ll burn you to death right now!”

“Adorable,” Tomura says, just to fuck with him and because he’s never feared death. And then, before Dabi can actually make good on his promise, “If it actually makes you uncomfortable I’ll stop. All of this. We’ll go back to the way things were before. I swear it.”

Dabi calms down a bit at that. “What was the point…? I’ve told you, I’m here to use you for my goal and I’m not interested in anything else.”

Tomura swallows heavily. “I’m going to do something, and if you don’t like it you can tell me to stop or punch me or whatever.” At Dabi’s hesitant nod, he strides forward until Dabi has no choice but to back up against the wall. Leans in closer and rests his hand by Dabi’s head. Watches the way he flushes at their proximity. Man, he really does like Dabi.

Dabi is staring at him with wide eyes, red cheeks, but he still has some bravado left in him as he says, “Spit it out, Boss.”

And Tomura moves until their lips are pressed together. Dabi’s upper lip is as soft as he imagined, the bottom one rougher and harder but forming an amazing contrast that Tomura is definitely not complaining about. A moment of hesitation where Tomura is certain this is his last experience before death (but like hell he’ll regret doing this), but then Dabi melts into the kiss. Sags into him with a sigh, all his body weight only held up by Tomura’s arms.

Sucks a little bit when he realizes Dabi’s getting his clothes wet, but he ignores it in favor of the pure bliss of finally getting to kiss Dabi and have him reciprocate.

Eventually, though, he forces himself to pull back. Look into Dabi’s eyes, which are heavy lidded and hazy. “I’ve been flirting with you because I like you, you idiot.”

Dabi bristles like a stray cat. “How was I supposed to know?”

“...What part of ‘I think you’re gorgeous and I want to kiss you’ was not clear?” Tomura asks slowly. “I literally told you that once, word for word, and you just ran away.”

Once again, Dabi looks away and blushes. Hot enough that the residual water on him starts steaming off him. “I thought that was a joke.”

Tomura buries his face in his hands and wishes he were in love with literally any other person. He screams instead.

A hesitant hand awkwardly pats his back. It only makes him feel worse.

“Are you at least going to admit you like me back,” Tomura says from the ground, in full despair mode, “or are you just going to act like a moron about that too.” Because there’s no way he mistook that kiss, Dabi was definitely into it and had full permission to do whatever he wanted to Tomura if he wasn’t.

“Well,” Dabi starts. Tomura peeks up at him. “You’re very pretty. Like the—the moon. Because it’s white. Like your hair.”

Warmth on the back of his neck and ears. He should not find that as endearing as he does, but. Somehow, he does. God, he does. And he stands back up, boxes Dabi back in against the wall. Wants to say something just to see that sweet flush on Dabi’s cheeks again, and to see if his suspicions about a praise kink are correct. “You are absolutely precious, you know that? Gorgeous, cute, sexy—”

A minute shudder. Dabi’s pupils dilate. Oh, this is so fucking easy.

“—We should fuck right now.”

And they even have the decency to retreat to one of their rooms instead of having their first time on the couch. Though, he’ll make no promises about the time after that, and after that, and after that, and after tha—

Will ingrain the memory of Dabi’s face, pink-cheeked and blissed out as Tomura showers skin and scars alike in compliments, forever into his brain.

(He decides to make Spinner a card. It’s sloppy, made out of stolen copy paper, and the markers he uses to doodle little swords and skulls bleed through. But it doesn’t matter, because Spinner takes one look at the inside boldly proclaiming, “Thanks for getting me laid,” crumples up the card, and tosses it at Tomura’s face.

“Don’t tell me about your sex life, you perv.”

Tomura, to rile him up, proceeds to describe in explicit detail what he and Dabi did last night, and Spinner, blushing heavily through even the scales, tries to strangle him. If Tomura dies because of this, it was absolutely worth it.)

Dabi is still sleeping as the pale morning light shines on them through the windows. Tomura traces little symbols onto his skin with his index finger, watching as the light hits his piercings just right to make them glimmer.

Fuck Sensei , he thinks. He’s never letting his pretty boy go for anything.
