Merry Me

Summary:

Rich boy in a big city has to room with a poor singer who is everything Hyunjin despises, clumsy, awkward and most of all, a walking gay stereotype. But as he learns more about the boy he finds there’s a secret he’s been desperately trying and failing to keep hidden.

Notes:

Marry Christmas everybody!! Instead of working on my many other unfinished works I’ve decided to do this!…. Maybe not my best idea.

I got this idea because I was reading a book and they were fighting Hyunjin as this oblivious angel and Jisung as some kind of imperfect unemotional baby. As a writer, personally, I can’t stand making my characters perfect. It’s boring if everyone’s flawless :)

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

Hyunjin’s room was a reck when he arrived home. His clothes were everywhere and his books were in piles on the floor. Even worse, his pack of cigarettes on the nightstand was gone.

It didn’t take long for him to put two and two together. He stormed out of his room until he reached the foyer where his mother sat leisurely, painting her nails with his nail polish.

”What the hell?!” He exclaimed loud enough to startle his mother’s assistant who was typing something up on one of their lavish sofas.

His mother though, merely raised her head lazily at him.

“What is it my dear?” She asked.

Hyunjin neared his teeth at her.

“I think you know what’s up!” He responded angrily, adding emphasis on the know just because he could.

“All my stuff is a mess! This is my apartment why are you here!”

His mother rolled her eyes at him. “And who pays for this apartment?” She snapped back.

Hyunjin practically growled at her. “You said it was a favor since I got into college!” He argued by it went in one of his mother’s ears and out the other.

“I spoil you kids to much. You’re twenty two and still single…” she grumbled disappointedly.

Hyunijn blinked fast at the insult. It was true after all, the youngest of five siblings and the only one not married. He hadn’t even been in a stable relationship before, his mother made sure to remind him of that fact.

“Fine! You can have your stupid apartment and my stupid nail polish! I’m not getting married I’m to young!” He screamed before walking into his room and stuffing his suitcase.

It wasn't long before he heard his mother’s heels clanking onto the floor behind him.

“So what!? Are you just going to live on the streets?” She asked in her whiny pitched tone.

“If I have too!” He shouted back without turning to face her.

“Lord knows you wouldn’t survive a day on your own out there!” She squawked at him. She said it like it was funny and Hyunjin was scared she might be right. Still, he zipped up his suitcase and put on a brave face.

“Watch me.” He stated, before grabbing his suitcase and making it out of his two story town house and onto the streets of Seoul.

He belatedly wondered what the hell he’d gotten himself into as he stared at the cars passing the ornaments hanging from lampposts around him.

He’d been kicked out just in time for Christmas.

His phone chimed.

Evil witch I call mom : Don’t bother coming to the family Christmas party without a date.

Hyunjin groaned.
