Chapter Text
As she is unable to reciprocate your gift at this present time, the Prinzessin der Verurteilung gives upon you this letter as scant recompense.
Though you gave me forewarning in your previous letter, I was still quite shocked to see the arrival of your gift. I must commend you on your excellent grasp of my tastes. Though I’ve never had sausages from Liyue, my trepidations upon seeing the contents of your present were clearly unfounded! Now I must figure out how best to incorporate its taste into my cooking, if I don’t eat them all as a snack first!
I must say it’s hard to imagine not seeing Sir Kaeya and Master Diluc’s amorous connection, if you saw them in the tavern. Practically all of Mondstadt could tell things weren’t so simple between them, and when news broke of their official commitment to each other, it was the talk of the city—behind their backs, of course. I’m sure they know that everyone knows, but it’s best treated as an open secret. It has certainly crushed the hearts of all their admirers, but now it’s largely passed as a topic of gossip, not the least because there hasn’t been much change to their public behavior. Does this perhaps mean they were already romantically content prior to cementing the status of their relationship? I’m not particularly knowledgeable on their pasts, but from what’s passed to my ears they had a significant falling-out in the past, and were on hostile terms for a while. Would becoming lovers resolve their problems better, or would it really change anything?
Please forgive my rambling, I’ve merely thought too many idle thoughts reflecting on them. They’re quite the curious pair.
Loyally yours,
Fischl von Luftschloss Narfidort and Ozvaldo von Hrafnavines
