Work Text:
Garma hadn’t counted on meeting someone like Icelina on Earth. He had tried to harden his heart, thinking of this as the home of the enemies of Zeon. Sure, not all of Earth is the problem, but it doesn’t help to start drawing lines and trying to decide who you can trust and who you can’t. He knows Char wouldn’t bother with that, he’d think that any Earthnoid was the enemy, plain and simple. And Garma wasn’t about to let Char be better than him, in any regard. But the very first time he spoke to the mayor’s daughter, the first time he even laid eyes on Icelina, he knew he wouldn’t be able to do that so easily.
Perhaps he truly wasn’t cut out for this kind of life, when he can feel his heart melting in the presence of such a pretty girl. But the more time he spent around her, the more he realized that this is far deeper than just beauty. He feels such a connection to Icelina, the kind that he can’t simply turn away from. If Char has learned anything in his life, it’s to not question these sorts of feelings. Maybe things are more complicated than he thought, when he was launching for Earth.
Maybe Garma can’t separate friend from foe so easily. But he knows, in the very depths of his heart, that nothing about Icelina makes her his foe. He knows that he can trust her, completely, that he can be with her. All he needs is to give her that chance. No matter what, the Prince of Zeon will make sure that Icelina is his princess. Garma isn’t really used to not getting what he wants, after all, and Icelina has already become someone that he wants pretty damn badly.
