Hailey slowly woke up to her phone making a noise.. an annoying one from what she could tell.
As she woke up more, she realized it was her ringtone, not her alarm. She reached over for her phone. Panicking when she saw the contact.
“Yes, Mr.Lansing?”
“No, I can not cover a morning shift today..”
“Why? Because it's a school day.”
“Sorry Mr.Lansing... Understood.”
“Bye.”
Of course, the thing she woke up to was her boss at her job.
Well, she was way too awake to head back to sleep, so she went to get some water knowing she'd get breakfast soon enough because it wasn't that early.
It is around 6 am currently. She knew everyone else usually gets up around 7. She'd have an hour to herself and can do-
“Hail, why are you up too?”
That was the sleepy voice of her little brother Milo
“Mm boss called asking me to cover. Why you up?”
“Couldn't sleep that well.”
Milo has had a history of sleep problems, so Hailey didn't doubt it.
“C'mere, we'll keep each other entertained until they get up.”
“Ok.. Can you get me some water too?”
“Of course.”
Milo was standing next to Hailey now waiting for her to finish.

They mainly watched YouTube until their foster parents got up and made them both breakfast. After they were done, they got their clothes on and went to their school.
Milo was a freshman and Hailey was a senior, so they said their byes until school ended.
“Heyyy Hail!" Said a bright voice.
“Hey Cass. What's got you so excited?”
Cassidy was always more preppy than Hailey but they usually weren't this excited..
“Didn't you hear? There's a new girl on the girls' soccer team!”
“Like new to the schoo-”
“No, she's been here forever, but she is just a heartbreaker.. Doesn't get you friends you know?”
“Then why are you so excited?”
“The team's really picky about who's on the team, so it suggests she's changed!”
“Hm..”
“I'm going to the game after school because of that!”
“Huh... Could I com-”
Gasp “YOU!? INTERESTED IN AN AFTER-SCHOOL EVENT!?”
“Shut it! And don't make a big deal of it or I might ju-”
“NO! Sorry Hail!!”
“It's fineee.”
That was the last thing Hailey expected when coming to school today, especially when she really didn't like after-school activities..

May was so excited about her first game today she almost forgot to eat breakfast, but soon after eating she ran out.
When on her way to school she spotted someone...
She spotted her.
Brown hair with teal highlights and up in a ponytail..
She was the one person she'd ever obsessed over and who could blame her? She was freaking beautiful.. Although she's never talked to her given her reputation, she's basically given up all hope of getting together with Hailey, let alone be friends with her.
If she could say one thing to her, she could die happy.
Maybe she s-
Oh. There's her friend.
Nevermind...

“Come on Haileyyyyy please wear itttt!!”
“Cass, that'll look horrible on me.”
Being held in front of Hailey was a (ugly in her opinion) lime shirt with Cassidy begging her to wear it.
“It's the team's colorrrr!!!”
“But it's also ugly.”
“Ughhh fineee only because we will be late if I continue to argue with you!”
“Great.”
Her excitement for the event had died down at this and she was confused about how Cassidy could always be so excited about things like that. They'll never not confuse her.

Hailey had no idea what was happening..
She admittedly knew nothing about soccer and was so confused, so she was just paying attention to how the players looked because she couldn't do much else..
Her eyes moved from player to player until she saw her...
Black hair, green tips, beautiful body....
“What's their name?”
“Huh? Oh! That's May! The girl I was talking about earlier!”
“She's...”
Cute! She's cute!
“She seems good..”
“Yeah.. Hey, don't go falling for her! I just told you she's a heartbreaker!”
Hailey couldn't care to listen in to Cassidy's rant about not falling for her because she definitely already did... And hard.
