Footsteps echoed throughout the hall as I ran to the stairs.
They were in my room, my hotel room.
'HOW!'
I admit, I might have gone for the cheaper option but it shouldn't have been this easy to find me damnit.
'My target was just an old man, so what is all this!? Is it from previous hits?'
My head was filled with questions but I had no time to think and as I reached the stairs it became unmistakable that there were several people, most likely armed, coming up and coming up fast.
'Up up I go then'
Jumping multiple stairs at once I climbed. I climbed until there was no upstairs- only an old locked door, too easy to break open.
Now upon rooftop I could see the roofs other buildings streaching across the city, streaching to freedom. I only needed to keep running and find Stephan.
I looked at the rooftop in front of me
'Then I'll be safe.'
With all the speed I could muster I ran towards it.
'Then I'll be okay.'
I ran like a maniac ready to jump.
A gunshot rang out the city...
'I'm... falling..?'
'why am I- falling..?'
'My head hurts so much...'
