"Hey, Chika. If I were a judge, you'd be my gavel."
"What."
"'Cause I'd bang you for hours."
Chika stares at him for a moment longer, looking at him like he's grown another head. Or maybe like he's lost his head. "We don't fuck!"
"It's just a pun! It's funny! Augh, I'll find a nonsexual one…" he grumbles, scrolling through his phone again with a pout to try and find a pun good enough to make Chika do something other than pull a face or stare at him like he's crazy. Or both. Usually both.
It's his current life's mission to make Chika like puns, and he is failing splendidly.
"You are an idiot," Chika pronounces, still using 'baka' like a proper Tōkyōite. He's slipped back into Fukui little by little in the years that they've been together, but that's one thing he apparently just can't seem to shake.
Placing a hand over his chest, Yuni looks up from his phone and turns the puppy-dog eyes on him. "That hurts. You're hurting me, Chika. Right here."
Chika returns his exaggerated pout with a flat stare, although one that's melting around the edges into something fonder. After a moment he caves with a snort and a wry shake of his head, letting a smile make its way across his lips. "Aho."
His attempts to endear Chika to the charm of puns may have ended in resounding defeat, but it still feels like a win.
