I am Serenity, the son of Selene, the reigning queen of the Moon Kingdom. We are located on the near side of the Moon, which faces the Earth perpetually due to tidal locking.
For years, I have wanted visit Earth. The trees and the complete nature they have there... it is indeed a stark contrast to what this place is. The Moon is beautiful and we have many outstanding works of architecture, but I have never been to a real forest before.
My fourteenth birthday was just a few days ago. Today, I embarked on a secret trip to Earth, hoping to finally feel the embrace of the forest and its nature!
"We are halfway to the Earth."
On the spaceship, I kept reading my books. The most recent one that I am reading is the Lunarian Robotics Journal, where I have just begun reading the essay from Professor Angela Aristark about the use of probabilistic models in robot control.
The Moon is full today. In other words, the warming sunlight shines directly on the near side of the Moon, which is visible from parts of the Earth where it is mostly night. I can see from the spaceship the illuminated Lunar surface, and the dim surface of Earth at night, where faint lights from human activity could be spotted.
The spaceship then targeted a forest on Earth to land on. It would soon be sunrise in that forest, and all the living things would awake by then.
Hours later, the spaceship landed in the forest, near the shore of a lake. I promenaded slowly in the woods and aspired, enjoying the fresh air of the forest while listening to the morning songs of the birds.
So this is Earth, I thought.
I laid down under the sunlight, and savored the breathtaking scenery in the forest. Squirrels running up a tree, ducks swimming in the lake, and rabbits hopping to a distant destination... It all seemed like an idyllic place. There might not be Lunarian technology on Earth, but this forest felt like a break from my daily life, and a chance to truly relax.
I continued to enjoy the warming sunlight of spring, not being aware of how fast time has passed. The sun is now at a higher altitude, and that is when I heard a voice from afar.
"Who are you?"
Could it be... someone from Earth?
I could hear the sound of footsteps, getting closer to me. I got up and looked around, and...
I found someone.
Her hair is golden, like mine, albeit of a more faded shade and much longer than mine, and she wears a black hairband. She is rather tall, perhaps even taller than Jupiter, and she wears a rather plain black dress. She smiles at me, and I could feel that she looks about a year or two older than me. She is simply very beautiful.
I blushed. "I... I'm Prince Serenity. I come from the Moon."
As a prince, I have always been taught to confidently introduce myself to others, but when I do not expect someone else to appear all of a sudden, I could be rather shy!
Upon hearing my words, she seemed fascinated. She asked elatedly, "A Prince? From the Moon?!"
