"Why me?" Nanami asked, looking at the window and not the man that he was talking to. He knows that he cannot run away, no matter how aloof Satoru is, he's the clan head of one of the prominent clans in the Jujutsu world, and he's just an outsider with no political power.

As the outside world has been exposed to the Jujutsu world, Satoru has now gained more power and more titles, the hero who ended the suffering of the world by killing the King of Curses, and because of that, his words are the law.

"Why not?" Gojo questions back.

Nanami scoffs, "We can be here all day if I list every reason that's running on my mind."

Gojo smiles, his mysterious smile that Nanami hates and secretly loves, "Humor me."

Nanami sighs as he adjust the eyepatch, careful not to touch the burnt skin around his face. "Look at me, Gojo-san. People will not like that the hero of the world will marry someone looking like me. And you said this is a political move, Gojo-san. I come from a family with no history in the Jujutsu world-"

"Kento." Gojo stops him from continuing, "The scars that you have are the result of you sacrificing yourself for the greater good. People will not look at you thinking you're ugly. People will see you as a hero, and pleeeeease, you are still handsome despite of your scars, and that's unfair, you know?"

When Nanami remained silent, he continued, "And that's the point; you're an outsider; to them, you're their representative to the Jujutsu world."

"There are others with the same background story as me, so why me?" Nanami insists.

Now, it was Gojo who sighed, "It's getting late; you need to rest so that you can continue your session with Ieiri tomorrow." And with that, he left Nanami.

Nanami tries to stop the tears from falling but fails. He felt so weak, and he didn't want to be in this situation again. He cannot marry the man he loves when he knows that Satoru's heart belongs to someone else.

--

Gojo flops himself to his bed, sighing as he removes his blindfold.

"Because I want you." He says to the empty room. "Because I love you."

--

They meet again in Shoko's office. Gojo accompanied Nanami to his check-up, wanting to know his status. Ieiri told them that they could now proceed to heal the skin. She left them alone to be able to talk.

They stared at each other for minutes, which felt like hours. It was Nanami who folded first, sighing as he clenched his fist to feel the sting of his fingernails on his skin. Using the pain to stop the tears that are threatening to fall. "I want a June wedding."

Gojo was startled at Nanami's outburst, then laughed. "Oh, you're like that! I didn't know you believed in June weddings! Okay, okay. What else?" He asks, adjusting his glasses as he huffs his laugh.

"I suppose the higher-ups want a traditional wedding. But I don't want to wear the uchikake."

"Ah." Gojo starts, scratching his temple at Nanami's request, "I would want to cater to your every whim. I do want to spoil you, but you see, you're the woman in the relationship, Kento, because -"

"Of power, I know; it shows that you and your clan are in charge and have a higher authority. I know. But since it's going to be televised, can you not save some of my dignity and not let me wear a woman's outfit? If white is truly needed, then at least dye a montsuki haori hakama white?" Nanami is angry, and everything is being taken away from him.

Gojo looked at him with pity, and Nanami hated it. "I'll see what I can do."

Gojo left him alone again.

Nanami chose June so that he could pretend that the sky was crying for him, shedding a tear when he could not.

--

Gojo wants to cater to Nanami's needs, spoil him, and give the world to him. But he needed the world to see, to follow the rules that he created.

"I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you, I swear."

--

Nanami wants to burn the dress, but he's scared of flames. He wants to tear it apart, but the wedding will start within an hour, and he doesn't want to walk the aisle nude. And he cannot show the ladies helping him wear the dress how the wedding was arranged, and he has to look at least civil so that Gojo can have a good reputation.

When he was dressed and left alone, again, he weeps. "It is just a political marriage; we can part ways soon as it's not necessary," Nanami mumbles to himself.

--

"He's so beautiful!" One of the ladies told Gojo as she exited his room.

"Finally." He says excitedly to himself.

--

There is a thunder of applause, and yet Nanami feels alone and lonely in the room.

There was a thunder of applause, and yet Gojo can only hear Nanami's heartbeat.

--

They sleep in separate bedrooms, and Satoru understands why. But he's happy with whatever Kento will give him.

Gojo thinks that everything is okay until Nanami gets drunk. It was a lot of arguments, and Gojo remained silent; he knew that it was his fault for being selfish. That's why he let Nanami to let out his anger, that is until Nanami screamed something that didn't sit right with him.

"I was the one walking down the aisle, but he's the love of your life."

"What?" Gojo asks, grabbing Nanami's hands so that he would look at him. "Who's he? Who are you talking about?"

"I'm not a fool, Gojo! You're still in love with him!"

"Who's he? Who?"

Nanami laughs, and Gojo sighs. And they both speak at the same time.

"I'm talking about Geto-san." "Because the one that I love is you."

Nanami blinked, and Gojo blinked.

"What?"

"What?"

Gojo then makes a face, "Suguru?! What?! He's my friend, a brother. Yes, I do love him, but as a brother! Kento, I've been in love with you for years! Decade even."

"What?"

Gojo stomps his feet like a child, "You can ask Shoko if you don't believe me. But the one that I love is you." He then dials his phone "Ieiri! Kento does not believe that I love him! Help me!"

He then gives the phone to Nanami. A tired Shoko sighs through the speaker. "So you two finally talked, huh? Good. Fucking finally! All this unrequited-requited love is getting on my nerves. Now, can you go on your honeymoon?"

"Oh"

Gojo pouts, "Now, do you believe me?"

"Oh," Nanami says, still in shock but quickly recovers. "Satoru, I want a beach wedding!"

Gojo's face lightened up.
