Notes:

Hi, it's my fifth fic in this fandom! Thank you so much for the support on the other on my last TSITP fics. The support on these fics genuinely makes me so happy. I can’t believe y’all like my sleep-deprived ideas.

But before that, I'm Ace. I write mostly for Julie and The Phantoms on this account, but I'm branching out, posting, and writing gay content for other fandoms.

I release a fic every time an episode drops so I’m not breaking that tradition so here’s my new Cam and Jeremiah fic this was intended for Polaroid Love but ended up being a cute standalone fic.

The title is from the song ‘Dance With You Tonight” by Laufey. A cute jazz pop song to live your life too.n As always here is the Spotify playlist if anyone asks with all the songs that inspired this fic.

Enjoy the fic & Remember to give feedback!!! It is always appreciated.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

The annual beach party was in full swing, with the joyful sounds of laughter and music echoing across the sandy shore. Cam Cameron stood at the edge of the dance floor, his hands tucked into his pockets as he observed the revelry around him. He wasn't a fan of big parties, especially when alcohol was involved. The idea of getting tipsy and losing control wasn't his idea of a good time. It wasn't even his idea to be here in the first place.

Jeremiah Fisher, on the other hand, was in his element. With a charismatic smile and carefree demeanor, he danced freely amidst the crowd, his movements embodying the rhythm of the music. Cam watched him from a distance, admiring his ease and grace. Well, as much ease and grace as a drunk teenager could have while dancing.

But Cam wasn't there on his own accord. It was Jeremiah who had convinced him to come to this party, insisting that they needed a break from their everyday lives and a chance to unwind. Cam had reluctantly agreed, hoping that spending time with Jeremiah would make the experience more enjoyable.

As the night wore on, Cam noticed Jeremiah take a break near the refreshment table, and he decided to seize the opportunity. He approached Jeremiah, his heart racing slightly, and offered him a friendly smile.

"Hey, Jeremiah," Cam greeted softly as he gently placed his hand on Jeremiah's shoulder, trying to make his presence known amidst the party chaos. "Mind if I join you for a moment?"

Jeremiah turned to him, his eyes dilated and a surprised expression on his face. "Oh, hey, Cam. Sure, go ahead." His friendly tone and demeanor eased Cam's nervousness a little.

Cam glanced at the drink in Jeremiah's hand and then back at him. He hesitated, unsure if he should voice his discomfort, but he knew he needed to be honest. "You know, I've never been a big fan of drinking. Parties like these just aren't my scene."

Jeremiah took another sip from his drink, seemingly oblivious to Cam's inner turmoil. "Yeah, I get it. Not everyone's into that."

Cam felt a twinge of guilt. Jeremiah had extended the invitation with good intentions, believing that they could enjoy the night together. He decided it was time to open up about his feelings.

"You know, I'm sorry if I'm not as into the party as you are," Cam admitted in a very apologetic tone, his voice tinged with genuine remorse. "I appreciate you inviting me, but I'm not really comfortable with alcohol and all."

Jeremiah's smile faded slightly as he looked at Cam with concern. His brows furrowed, and he took a moment to process Cam's words. "Hey man, it's all good," he said, his tone softening. "You don't have to apologize for not being into this. I invited you because I wanted you to have some fun, not because I expected you to drink or anything."

A surge of relief washed over Cam as he heard Jeremiah's understanding response. "Thanks, man. I just didn't want to let you down."

Jeremiah shook his head, a reassuring smile playing on his lips. "You're not letting me down, Cam. We're friends, and I just want to hang out with you. We can do something else if this isn't your thing."

Cam felt a warmth spread through him at Jeremiah's words. He realized that their friendship meant more to Jeremiah than the party itself. Maybe, just maybe, he could find a way to enjoy the night with his friend by his side.

"I do want to have a good time tonight. And watching you dance certainly helped with that."

“Is this your way of asking me to dance Cam Cameron?” Jeremiah teasinly aksed.

Cam's smile brightened, a genuine warmth lighting up his eyes. "Absolutely, Jeremiah. Is this your way of asking me to dance, Cam Cameron?" he echoed playfully.

Jeremiah's eyes sparkled with amusement, his lips curling into a mischievous grin. "Well, I don't know, Cam. I might have a few dance moves up my sleeve. But can you keep up?"

Cam raised an eyebrow, his expression a mix of mock offense and lighthearted challenge. "Oh, you're on, Fisher. I may not have your natural rhythm, but I've been known to surprise a time or two."

Jeremiah leaned in slightly, his voice a conspiratorial whisper. "Well, let's just hope those surprise moves don't end up causing a beachside spectacle."

Cam chuckled, the sound carrying the camaraderie that had grown between them. "Hey, no guarantees. But at least we'll be the life of the party, right?"

With a shared laugh, they made their way back to the dance floor, the sand beneath their feet cool and slightly damp. The moon hung low in the sky, casting a gentle silver glow over the ocean waves. As they stepped onto the dance floor, the music seemed to wrap around them like a warm embrace, inviting them to surrender to its rhythm.

The air was filled with an electric buzz, a palpable sense of liberation and celebration. Cam and Jeremiah moved in sync with the melody, their bodies swaying and spinning with a newfound confidence. Their laughter blended seamlessly with the music, creating a symphony of joy that echoed across the beach.

Jeremiah's dance moves were nothing short of captivating. His body flowed with a natural grace that drew the eyes of fellow partygoers. He twirled and swayed, his movements an effortless extension of the music's pulse. His charisma was contagious, inviting others to join in the revelry.

Cam, despite his initial hesitation, found himself embracing the moment. He matched Jeremiah's steps with a blend of determination and enthusiasm. His dance might not have been as polished, but his genuine enjoyment radiated from his every movement. He moved with a growing confidence, the music guiding him past his self-consciousness.

Between twirls and spins, Jeremiah managed to catch his breath enough to tease Cam. "You know, Cam," he said, his voice buoyant with laughter as they twirled in time to the music, "I never thought I'd see the day you'd be out here, dancing like no one's watching."

Cam's grin widened, his inhibitions melting away with each beat. "Well, blame it on the infectious energy of the dance floor or the fact that you're a very persuasive dance partner."

Jeremiah winked, a playful challenge lighting up his eyes. "I'll take that as a compliment, Cam Cameron."

As the night wore on, their dance became a spirited conversation expressed through movement. They spun, they dipped, they mimicked each other's steps, and they even engaged in some comical dance-offs that had them and the surrounding partygoers laughing wholeheartedly. Their camaraderie and playful banter drew the attention of those around them, creating an atmosphere of carefree enjoyment.

With every twirl, every sway, their connection deepened. Their laughter was a testament to the newfound friendship that was blossoming on the dance floor. They became lost in the music, in the company of each other, and in the simple joy of letting go.

As the night's energy waned and the final notes of the music hung in the air, Cam and Jeremiah stood together, breathless but elated. Their chests rose and fell in harmony with the waves crashing nearby, and the night breeze brushed against their flushed faces. The dance they had shared had been more than just a series of steps; it had been an adventure that brought them closer in unexpected ways.

Hand in hand, they gracefully stepped away from the dance floor, their smiles illuminating the beach around them. Their hearts felt light, and their connection had deepened, solidified through the shared experience. What had started as a night of uncertainty had blossomed into a memory they would forever hold dear. The stars twinkling above and the gentle waves below seemed to bear witness to the laughter and newfound bond that had been forged as they danced like no one was watching.

As the final echoes of the party gradually faded away, Cam and Jeremiah found themselves seated side by side on the sand. They turned their attention to the vast expanse of the ocean before them, the waves creating a soothing melody that serenaded their thoughts. The laughter and music that once filled the air had now given way to a tranquil symphony of nature—the ebb and flow of the tides, the rustling of palm leaves in the breeze, and the distant calls of night creatures.

"You know," Cam said, breaking the comfortable silence that had settled between them, "I never thought I'd enjoy dancing like this."

Jeremiah leaned back, his gaze still fixed on the distant horizon, but his lips curved into a fond smile. "Sometimes all it takes is a little push to try something new."

Cam's laughter was soft, a mixture of amusement and reflection. "And sometimes that push comes in the form of a charismatic dancer."

Their laughter intertwined, a harmonious blend of camaraderie that seemed to resonate with the gentle rustle of the palm leaves and the distant lullaby of the waves.

"You know, Cam," Jeremiah's voice held a note of contemplation, "I'm really glad you decided to come tonight. Even if it wasn't exactly your scene, I appreciate you being here."

Cam's smile held a warmth that mirrored the rising sun. "I'm glad I came too, Jeremiah. Thanks for inviting me and for being such an awesome dance partner."

Jeremiah's chuckle was like a melody, a sound that carried the carefree spirit of the night's festivities. He playfully nudged Cam with his shoulder. "Hey, it was a team effort. We rocked that dance floor together."

Cam's chuckle echoed in response, a reminder of their shared triumph on the dance floor. "Yeah, I guess we did."

Their conversation flowed seamlessly, a testament to the comfort they had found in each other's company amidst the backdrop of the tranquil beach.

"Who would've thought," Cam mused, his gaze drawn to the vastness of the ocean before them, "that a beach party would lead to all this?"

Jeremiah's laughter was soft, a gentle accompaniment to the lapping waves. "Life's full of surprises, Cam. And sometimes, the best moments happen when you least expect them."

Cam nodded in agreement, a sense of contentment settling over him like the gentle caress of the morning breeze. "You're right, Jeremiah. Tonight was definitely unexpected, but I'm glad I took that chance."

As the first light of dawn painted the sky with hues of delicate pink and warm orange, Cam and Jeremiah remained seated on the sand. The horizon seemed to shimmer with a promise of new beginnings, and the quiet beauty of the moment felt like a fitting conclusion to their night of unexpected adventure. Their friendship had deepened, and a bond had formed that would forever tie them to this beach, this night, and the memory of dancing like no one was watching.

In the company of the rising sun and the fading stars, Cam and Jeremiah sat side by side, the soft serenade of the waves carrying their thoughts and emotions far beyond the shoreline. The echoes of their laughter lingered in the air, a reminder of the magic that can be found when friends come together to share a dance, an experience, and a connection that defies the ordinary and embraces the extraordinary.
