Work Text:

Phayu stood in the doorway of the collaboration rooms. His dark gaze fixed on the slope of Sky’s back as he was showing off the design to the rest of the team. A sight that sent a wave of want through him as Sky shared his brilliance. Rain was right that Sky kept it hidden like a sheltered rose at times. But here in the office the confidence was beautiful.

“But we can forgo the arches if we raise and open the ceiling.” Rex commented as Sky was trying to explain the necessity of adjusting the load bearing beams for the arch design.

“Absolutely not. Mrs. Ngam spent three weeks carefully working with me to get the design just as she wanted. We will not present her with an alternative idea that takes away from it.” Sky countered sharply.

“It will four weeks to the project.” Rex gave back.

“And she’ll be paying for the extra time. This is her forever home with her wife and their three children. She knows and understands that materials for the arches takes time from the originally projected end date.” Sky didn’t let down, his gaze narrowing. “If it’s about your Boonmee project clashing with the new deadline; finish your duties and sign off what needs to be done then I will submit to P’Mhok so you can be paid the full time. That’s the only compromise I will make. The customer is paying for our best work not a rushed job.”

“Take the deal Nong.” Phayu commented when Rex looked like he was going to argue some more, “it will be better in the long run.”

“Right, lunch?” Rex nodded, cheeks flushed at being caught arguing.

“Sounds good to me. Be back in an hour?” Sky suggested, “then we can tackle the rest.”

He earned several nods in agreement as Rex all but bolted out of the room.

“I had that.” Sky commented still not looking at him as he cleaned up the table.

“Of course you did.” Phayu commented, stepping up beside the younger man. “I just wanted to steal my boyfriend for lunch before our meetings keep us from having dinner.”

“Ah, is that all?” Sky snorted with a smile knowing full well that Phayu had more than food in mind. Just like their Rain, the older man was easy to read. His desire and playfulness was a dead give away. It also helped that when called out he wouldn’t hide what he wanted.

“With you being the lunch of course. Unless you really only wanted that strawberry pecan salad from Frenchie’s.” Phayu commented as he looked over the design. The house was a lovely two story home that paid homage to Mrs. Ngam’s wife’s Thai ancestry and her own American one out of the Victorian era. “This is a great design, Nong.” He loved seeing what art came from some of the tougher clients that Rex pushed at Sky.

Being the strong willed and very talented man that he is took in stride. Everytime Sky had exceeded Mhok’s expectations. He wasn’t shy to say he was proud. Proud that he could share this with Sky. He felt a warmth blossom in his chest and he reached out to brush his fingers through Sky’s hair.

“Only if you already have the salads.” Sky grinned toothily at the older man. He stood up, turning around to face Phayu with his back to the table.

“Of course I do.” Phayu answered confidently, stepping into the other’s personal space. Their lips almost touching.

“Then let’s have lunch then our salads.” Sky accepted his fate by capturing his lover’s lips in a teasing kiss. He was more than pleased that the office had cleared out for lunch so that they could put Phayu’s office to use without curious ears.

They were relaxing on the couch in Phayu’s office eating their salads when they both got text alerts. Sky leaned down to where his pants were in a pile on the floor to snag his phone. He unlocked his phone to find that it wasn’t Rain like he thought but Mhok telling them to take an extra hour because he wanted a staff meeting at the end of the day.

“What is it?” Phayu asked at Sky’s snort. His hand that’d been rest on Sky’s bare ankle rubbed the soft skin with his thumb.

“I was about to remind us to get dressed but P’Mhok just gave us another for lunch because he wants to have a meeting before we all leave today.” Sky responded.

“Oh?” Phayu grinned all teeth. Sky knew that look. He was intimately aware of it. The moment that Phayu twisted towards him, Sky brought his foot up keeping the man at bay.

“Valerian.” Sky stated with a warning but also a teasing tone. His toes wiggling against the warmth of Phayu’s chest. “Eat your lunch then maybe dessert.”  Phayu nodded then let Sky slide his foot down back into his lap.  His hand immediately went back where it was massaging Sky’s ankle. It was a no for now but they were only at work for a bit longer. Then he would have the man all to himself at their apartment.

Notes:

I didn't mark ot4 in pairing because only Sky and Phayu were mentioned.
