Alma was gone, faded into nothing. So was Paxton. They had been monsters but they were also the only family he had known, victims turned into weapons by Armacham.
Well, almost only family. The infant in his arms being the only living exception.
They still remained in the abandoned house, floor and walls covered in ash and filth. There was more of the same on him, probably quite a bit of blood as well. Only his little sister remained untouched.
She wouldn't be like them. She would never be experimented on by Armacham, twisted into a monster.
His radio crackled, Jin's voice just barely coming in through the static. "...you there?"
It was time to get up. His sister would need a safe place, somewhere where all three of them could rest.
He would keep them safe.
