Chapter Text
Agatha and Sophie stand in the town square as Agatha tries to persuade Sophie that the play about their time at the school for Good and Evil had begun to get out of hand.
Soon there was a blinding flash of light that caused both girls to shield their eyes. When the light began to dim the girls began to look around and realised that they had somehow appeared just where Agatha had when she was first dropped at the school for good 9 months ago.
They girls became more aware of their surroundings and realised that the flash had also brought the villiagras of Gavaldon to the fairytale school as well.
The villagers of Gavaldon looked up at the school for Good in shock and some in disbelief still unsure if what they were seeing was the truth.
“Agatha?” The people turned at the call as Sophie and Agatha look closer and realise it is professor Dovey who was standing atop the hill that led to the school for Good.
“Professor Dovey?” Agatha called back
Professor Dovey started to quickly make her way to the girls after hearing Agatha respond to her call. Once she made it she ignored the villagers as they wondered confused as to why this woman who was obviously a part of the school for Good was talking to Agatha and not Sophie who was her student. Once professor Dovey reached them she pulled Agatha into a hug that caused the usually aloof girl to melt into her fairy godmother's arms.
“Oh Agatha! It’s so good to see you my dear! But… How are you here?” She asked pulling away to look Agatha in the eye, placing both hands on Agatha’s cheeks to get a good look at her student.
“We don’t know professor. Sophie and I were just in the town square then there was this big flash and we ended up here” Agatha replied
“It was obviously you! You witch! You brought us here!” Yelled out one of the villagers. Agatha shrank back at the yell as professor Dovey turned around confused at the villagers words and her students reaction to it.
She had always seen Agatha as a strong young princess and seeing her shrink into herself reminded Dovey of what she was like when she first came to the school, scared and with no confidence in herself.
“What? Why are you calling Agatha a witch!” Dovey asked
“Who are you?” Asked one of the council members
“I am professor Dovey, the Dean for the school for Good. Now I will ask again, why are you calling Agatha a witch” Dovey levelled the villagers with a glare that didn’t seem to work with her overall good appearance.
“Because she is a witch! She obviously wanted to come back to the school for Evil to learn how to kill Sophie since she is a princess and accidentally brought us all with her!” Replied the villagers who Agatha and Sophie now recognise as Samuel, one of the men that worked in the mill with Sophie’s father Stefan.
“What on earth are you talking about? Agatha isn’t a student at the school for Evil why would-“ professor Dovey was cut off by another villagers yelling “Look at her! She is a witch she has always been an ugly evil witch so of course she is in the evil school”
Professor Dovey fumed at the disrespect these people were showing her beloved student. She took a breath. “Okay let’s get some things straight before I bring you inside and you get your head chopped off by the king of Camelot for insulting Agatha.” The people looked at each other confused as to why Sophie’s prince would defend Agatha
“The king of Camelot? Sophie’s prince? Why would he care?” Asked Sophie’s father
Sophie looked around in panic that her lie about her time at the school was about to be uncovered. She looked at Agatha for a way to keep their lie hidden but could only see her best friend looking up at the school of Good with a look of longing. Sophie sighed and her eyes dropped to her feet, preparing herself for what was to come.
“Yes, that king of Camelot. Tedros Pendragon son of King Arthur, Agatha’s prince as Agatha is a student of the school for Good and one of the first true princesses this school has seen in a very long time. Sophie is a student of the school for Evil. She is a witch. I don’t know what the girls have told you when they returned home but from what I have heard of your treatment of the girls and how their friendship works I’m assuming that once they arrived home Sophie didn’t want anyone to know the truth about their time here. So she decided to spin the tale and make herself the princess that got her happy ending with a king whilst Agatha was made to be what you all assumed she was, an evil witch. Am I right girls?” Dovey turned to the girls as the people of Gavaldon stared in shock at them. The girls both nodded, Sophie still avoiding the gaze of the people and the professor and Agatha still staring up at the school.
“Now that that is sorted out. Before her head in to figure out why you are all here I think you girls need a little cleaning up before you see all your classmates again hmm?” She asked the girls. They both looked at her.
“Sophie, am I right in believing you would rather stay as you are instead of going in your black school clothes?”
Sophie mumbled a “ yes thank you professor” once again avoiding everyone's eyes, so professor Dovey turned to Agatha.
“ Agatha my dear? Any preferences?” Dovey asked
“The blue dress. The one I wore to the ball before we were sent home” she answered almost immediately as her gaze turned once more back to the school thinking of one particular prince that was inside.
Dovey nodded as her finger began to light up causing the villagers to gasp and take a step back at the display of magic as Agatha’s regular tunic, trousers and trench coat melted away to reveal a beautiful blue ball gown and her hair transformed from its usual rats nest of tangled wild curls to a more sleek curly look with some of the hair pinned back from her face. The villagers gaped as they for the first time saw Agatha looking like the princess she actually is. Many couldn’t believe that this was the same Agatha that they had seen for years trailing after Sophie.
“Beautiful sweetheart. Now everyone head into the school. The school for Evil is already here.” Dovey stated as she began to make her way back up the hill as Agatha and Sophie began to follow her.
The villagers took a moment before they realised that they too were meant to follow her. They all walked in silence up the short distance to the front door of the school. The school for Good looked even more magnificent up close and many villagers tried to look around as much as possible before entering in order to commit as much as they could to memory.
Once they all reached the door professor Dovey turned to them.
“Okay everyone before you come in there is something I must tell you. Whilst none of us knew that you would be coming today, we did receive a letter a short while ago stating that both schools needed to be gathered together as well as all the teachers because we needed to watch something important to both good and evil. In the letter we were told that we should be expecting people but as nobody thought it would be our two readers and their village I think it would be wise to warn them in advance as both Sophie and Agatha know there may be some sort of reaction to Sophie coming back to the school after everything that happened the last time.” Dovey turned to Sophie as she looked down in shame as everyone followed Dovey's eyes to the young witch.
“So everyone follow me inside but no talking. I will make a speech to everyone and I will call out to you when you need to come in. Okay?” She explained
“Yes professor” the girls replied as the people of gavaldon nodded and they all began to follow professor Dovey into the castle.
They walked in silence and soo reached the main hall where Dovey left them and walked through the grand doors.
The villiagars stood anxiously as Sophie looked at Agatha for some reassurance but she was given nothing as Agatha just looked at the doors longingly, no doubt thinking of her prince that sat just on the other side of the door.
