Keisuke knew that Kyoko was falling for him, innocent and wholehearted. He had witnessed the raw honesty in her eyes when she confessed her feelings. Yet, he couldn't help but feel conflicted. He wanted to protect her from the harsh realities of his world, afraid that his own passionate nature would consume them both.
One rainy evening, during Project D's expedition in the Saitama region and after a victorious hillclimb battle against Wataru, Keisuke found Kyoko standing alone in the pouring rain waiting for him. Her soaked figure under the umbrella was a sight to behold, and a wave of conflicting emotions crashed over him.
Though his heart yearned to take her home and hold her close at that moment, Keisuke resisted the temptation. He couldn't bear the thought of tainting her naivety and purity with his own complicated desires. With a heavy heart, he left her standing there, got into his car, and drove away, knowing that he had hurt her without an explanation.
Kyoko, innocent and trusting, believed that Keisuke's rejection was a sign that he did not truly care for her. She returned home that night with a sense of sadness, unable to comprehend the conflicting emotions she felt within her own heart.
