Chapter Text
While readying his gun and knife, a member of his guards yelled from outside the chamber, “Sir! You may want to make haste, your brother and the delegate await your arrival.”
Just finished, Luca leaves his room, “No need to be so urgent, Alfred. They could wait patiently.”
Alfred was on Luca’s personal security team. He had raised him after the death of Luca’s father and cared for and trained him. The mafia boss was grateful, reminding the senior man of his appreciation daily.
They were walking down a grand hallway of the Kaneshiro Estate. The building is dark but littered with gold and jewels as the residents love flaunting their wealth - Luca's brothers. Despite Cain being older, Luca inherited his father's power and status. In the business, Cain was unfavored for being unreasonable and too flamboyant making him an unlikely choice for inheritance. Najah was the youngest of the family, having a similar personality to Luca himself but much more impetuous. The family of course didn't care for order so when Cain and Najah weren't choices for the estate, Luca was chosen to take over as head of the family.
Leaders often had many advisors to carefully craft each decision. Luca has many. Too much, it was probably overboard, but his mother was wary as he took over when he was still young. The advisors were chosen by the family, all intelligent and capable. They were trained to be the best of the best to be by Luca's side. Mother wanted him to make the correct choices while also being safe and secure. The family relations were rocky but they all love each other dearly, unafraid to do anything to protect their own.
"Mr. Kaneshiro sir, if I may, fellow relations with other groups ar-"
"Are significant and one should do their best to incubate such relations. Yes, Alfred. I've heard the whole spiel so many times, you know how we roll. The Kaneshiro group is strong. We shouldn't rely on other families." The pair pass guards and servants, they also pass a painting of Luca's family. They reach the stairway and walk down to the ground floor. "We'll crush anyone that gets in our way."
The senior man sighs, "As important power is, relations are just as important. During times of need, we will require a helping hand."
"That'll never come to be." As he reaches the corridor, Luca pushes the double doors open.
The high room is painted a beautiful forest green with white trim to contrast. It has been dubbed as one of the conference rooms with comfortable seating and flat surfaces for items. The dim lighting of the chandelier along with the diamonds controls the atmosphere. The dark curtains match well with the night sky, visible through the tall top-rounded windows. Two sets of sleek gray couches lie on opposite sides of the enclosure, Cain and the delegate sit pleasantly. Luca smiles, walking inside to sit next to his brother. Alfred stays outside, closing the doors.
"You are late," the stranger states.
Luca's smile doesn't falter. "I am."
The individual stares at him incredulously, disturbed by his nonchalance.
“Well, why don’t we get started?”
