Chapter Text
This story takes place in a universe without SGRUB. As such, the social dynamics of troll adults has been shifted slightly. Pupation into “adulthood” happens at 9 sweeps (the human equivalent of 18ish years old) but the official force off planet doesn’t happen until full maturation at 11 sweeps (the human equivalent of 23ish) in order to rid out any mutants and conquer the universe with purity. Those within this transitionary age are moved into colonies to prepare for military life OR deserted to fend for themselves in the dense forests where the drones are unable to reach them easily, if at all.
The story is primarily told from Eridan’s perspective (in first person), but a few chapters will deviate. Those will have a note at the beginning of the chapter as to who’s POV it is for that chapter only.
There will also be some minor deviation to canon in terms of the pasts for some characters, but those details will be revealed as the story develops. But all 12 trolls are alive and relevant to the story. The story of the Ancestors though is unchanged.
Also, at some point the story will go into lewd territory, so a few anatomy disclaimers. Since the trolls are not mammals, their bodies are more androgynous with both male and female reproductive parts. Further details will come out closer to when the story becomes lewd, but this will be a slow burn so it won’t matter for a bit.
Finally, the setting of Alternia and all trolls are property of Andrew Hussie but the plot is of my own creation. If there is any likeness to other fanfics, this is not my intention so I offer any necessary apologies upfront. Otherwise, I hope you enjoy it.
