They were running, running and running, they lost track of time of how much they were running, it all seem blurry and the path seem to have no end, maybe this was truly the end, huh, kinda funny, she did not expect to have to spend her last moments with raph of all people, kinda was hoping to be a able to cuddle with Leo for one last time, and see the face that he does when his body starts to cramp, but he is such a softy that he would let her sleep, even if he was suffering and aching to move, it was hilarious, so silly and so sweet, so Leo, gosh, she really misses him, and wishes she could see him one last time, but I guess that not gonna happen at this rhythm…
“Hey raph…” she said in almost a whisper, her throat was killing her
“Shut up, you have to reserve your energy” raph said, without looking at her, he was giving her a piggyback ride, cause she was too tired to walk, and it was considerably faster.
“Rude, anyways…could you do me a favor? Could you give a message to Leo for me?” She said in the quiet of the path, it almost felt wrong to speak louder in there
“Tell him yourself when you see him” said raph, she did notice how he start to fasten his pace, he had an idea of what she was about to tell him, and he wanted none of it, cause if he receive the message, it meant that he also accept what it comes with it, accept that they’re not gonna make it, that she is not gonna deliver that message, and Leo would never forgive him if he accepts that.
He will never forgive himself if he accepts that. He can’t, he is not ready, she was an annoyance, a burden in battles, not the brightest of the bunch, rude, loud and way too full of herself, but she introduce them to crognard the barbarian, she brought them those insanely good noodles, she try so hard, even if her attempt were so mediocre, to get better at fighting, to not be a burden for them, she was a reckless dumbass, she made awkward and so cringy jokes to break the tension or to lift the spirits when everyone was in a horrible mood, she humor Donnie’s tech ramblings, she play and paid attention to Mikey when he was starving for some, she made Leo happy, man this crazy chick even took a bullet for his brother without hesitation, if that’s not dedication to their disgusting relationship, then he doesn’t know what it is, she share his love for pet turtles, she help him take spike to a real vet when he thought the worse was gonna happen, she hang out with April and went to those dumb “girls nights”, she was her first real girl-friend for fuck sake, April couldn’t stop smiling and showing off their “bestie bond” or whatever, she humor Casey’s vandalism, she was their friend, and like hell he would let this shitty situation try to take her away from their lifes, over his death body.
He would not see his family cry today, he will not see that look of despair in Leo’s eyes again, he will not cry today, he refuse.
“Raph…I’m sorry” hearing her apologizing just brought more frustrations in Raph, for her need to apologize, for being the one delivering the message, for this shit situation, for being just the two of them alone, for not being able to comfort her in these scary moments, this sucks, he hated this.
“Hey, but can you do me a favor at least?” Raph didn’t answer, he didn’t want this conversation, but both of them knew he would listen and what was gonna happen, but no one dare to say it, so she continue.
“Could you make sure Leo finds someone?” Raph did not expect that to be what would come out of her mouth
“What?!” He said it louder than he intended, but the shock was able to cover the frustration slightly.
“Don’t get me wrong, I know Leo it so FINE, he will do well” Raph cringe, now he had more reasons to NOT want to hear this.
“It’s just that, I want him to be happy…and I just know, that…he is gonna blame himself for this” how even in moments like these, those two are able to be so sickeningly into each other?! but that’s the reason why he know it’s true, What’s gonna happen to Leo?…

WHAT’S GONNA HAPPEN TO LEO?! SHE IS LITERALLY ABOUT TO-!!! And she is still worrying about Leo?!
Gosh he hated how disgustingly in love they were, and to be honest, he was not ready for these disgusting moments between the two of them to end…
Mikey and April were so excited to plan a wedding, they even somehow convinced Leo to search for wedding rings, saying some shit that it’s never too soon, but now…
“Please Raph, promised me that” there was a long painful silence, but even when he felt his throat closing, he nodded.
“Thanks Raphael” that’s the first time this dumbass has call him for his full name, and he hate it, so he just fasten the pace and ignore the lack of movement and coldness in his back and kept running, maybe if he doesn’t look, it’s not real, cause, this cannot be happening, because she was gonna live happily ever after or some shit, with his dumbass brother.
Donnie, Mikey and him were gonna fight for the favorite uncle title, so he kept running.
She was gonna have a sleepover with April this Sunday, so he kept running.
They were gonna marathon the horrible VHS replacement that she found of Leo’s stupid space series, that she was gonna gift him for his upcoming birthday, so he kept running.
He ran until he couldn’t feel his legs, the thoughts were so loud, the screams were so loud, that he didn’t knew where his voice and his thoughts started and ended, so he kept running.
