The Importance Of Yourself

Summary:

Only when we are fully aware of ourselves can we truly understand who we are.

Work Text:

Obi-Wan Kenobi had always known that he was different from the other Jedi. He had a keen sense of intuition, an almost preternatural ability to sense danger and deception, and an unyielding devotion to the Jedi Code. But it wasn't until he stumbled upon a holocron buried deep within the Jedi archives that he learned the truth about his origins.

The holocron was unlike anything Obi-Wan had ever seen before. It was covered in strange symbols and glyphs, and seemed to emanate a strange energy that he couldn't quite put his finger on. With trembling hands, he activated the device and watched as a hologram of an alien being appeared before him.

"Welcome, young Jedi," the hologram said in a strange, guttural language. "I am Othor, last of the Djinn. You have stumbled upon knowledge that was meant to be lost to time. But if you are worthy, I will reveal to you the secrets of my people."

Obi-Wan was entranced. He had never heard of the Djinn before, but he felt a deep connection to them, as if he had known them all his life.

As the hologram continued to speak, Obi-Wan learned that the Djinn were an ancient species, long extinct. They had been known throughout the galaxy for their incredible abilities, which included illusions, metamorphosis, and even the ability to pass judgment with a single electric touch.

Obi-Wan listened with rapt attention as Othor explained that the Djinn had been hunted to extinction by those who feared their power. But even as he mourned the loss of his people, Othor was determined to ensure that their legacy lived on.

With the help of the holocron, Obi-Wan began to delve deeper into the history of the Djinn. He studied ancient texts written in a language he had never seen before, and learned of their customs, their beliefs, and their way of life. As he delved deeper, he began to realize that he shared many of the Djinn's abilities and traits, including their heightened intuition and sensitivity to the Force.

As he continued to study the holocron, Obi-Wan's connection to the Djinn grew stronger, and he began to have vivid dreams and visions of their civilization. He saw sprawling cities of crystal and light, soaring through the cosmos on ships that could traverse the vast reaches of space in the blink of an eye. He saw great libraries filled with knowledge and wisdom, and watched as the Djinn conducted intricate ceremonies and rituals that honored the forces of the universe.

But as his knowledge grew, so too did his fear. He knew that the Jedi Code forbade him from delving too deeply into the mysteries of the Force, and he worried that his obsession with the Djinn would lead him down a dangerous path. But even as he struggled with these doubts, he could not ignore the pull of the holocron and the powerful energy that emanated from it.

In the end, it was Obi-Wan's love for the Jedi Order that kept him grounded. He knew that his duty lay with his fellow Jedi, and that he could not abandon them to pursue his own interests. With a heavy heart, he deactivated the holocron and returned it to its resting place in the archives, vowing to keep his knowledge of the Djinn a secret.

But even as he turned his back on the secrets of the holocron, Obi-Wan could not shake the feeling that he was meant for something more. He knew that the Force had a plan for him, and that his destiny lay beyond the walls of the Jedi Temple. And so he waited, biding his time and watching for signs of the path he was meant to follow.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months, but Obi-Wan's desire to learn more about the Djinn never faded. His dreams were filled with visions of their long-extinct civilization, and he found himself yearning to uncover more of their secrets.

During his spare time, Obi-Wan would sneak into the archives and spend hours studying the holocron. He deciphered the ancient language and unlocked even more knowledge about the Djinn. He learned about their battles with the Sith, their alliances with other species, and their reverence for the Force.

Despite his growing obsession, Obi-Wan remained a devoted Jedi. He continued to fulfill his duties, train younglings, and serve the Republic. But as he went about his daily life, he couldn't help but feel that there was something missing.

One day, as he was meditating in the Jedi Temple gardens, Obi-Wan felt a sudden jolt of energy course through his body. He opened his eyes to see a shimmering figure standing before him. It was Othor, the last of the Djinn, appearing to him in a vision.

"Obi-Wan Kenobi," the hologram said in its guttural language. "Your destiny is tied to ours. You carry the blood of the Djinn within you, and you must help us complete our mission."

Obi-Wan was stunned. He had never spoken to Othor directly before, let alone through a vision. He could feel the weight of the Djinn's mission pressing down on him, urging him to take action.

"What is your mission?" Obi-Wan asked, his heart racing.

"Our mission is to protect the galaxy from a great darkness," Othor replied. "We have waited for millennia for someone like you to come along, someone with the strength and wisdom to help us complete our mission."

Obi-Wan listened intently as Othor explained that the darkness he spoke of was a powerful Sith Lord who had risen to power in the outer rim. This Sith Lord was unlike any the galaxy had ever seen before. He was cunning, ruthless, and had already amassed a vast army of loyal followers.

The Djinn had been watching the Sith Lord's rise to power with growing concern, knowing that he posed a grave threat to the galaxy. They had been searching for a champion, someone with the power and skill to stand against the Sith Lord and protect the galaxy from his dark machinations.

"We believe that you are that champion, Obi-Wan Kenobi," Othor said. "You possess the same abilities and traits as our people, and we believe that with our guidance, you can defeat the Sith Lord and bring balance to the Force."

Obi-Wan was overwhelmed by the gravity of Othor's words. He had always known that he was meant for something more, but he had never imagined that his destiny was so intertwined with that of the Djinn.

"Tell me what I must do," he said, his voice steady despite the tremors of excitement and fear that coursed through his body.

And so, with the help of the holocron and the guidance of Othor, Obi-Wan began to prepare himself for the battle to come. He trained relentlessly, honing his skills in the lightsaber and the Force. He studied the Sith Lord's tactics and learned everything he could about his enemy.

As the days turned into weeks, Obi-Wan's resolve grew stronger. He knew that the fate of the galaxy rested on his shoulders, and he was determined to see his mission through to the end.

And then, one fateful day, the Sith Lord revealed himself. He launched a surprise attack on the Republic, striking at the heart of its defenses and unleashing destruction on a scale that the galaxy had never seen before.

Obi-Wan knew that this was it. This was the moment he had been preparing for. With a calm determination, he rallied the Jedi and led them into battle against the Sith Lord and his forces.

The battle was long and grueling, but in the end, Obi-Wan emerged victorious. He stood on the battlefield, surrounded by the wreckage of the Sith Lord's army, and felt a sense of triumph and relief wash over him.

But even as he basked in the glow of his victory, Obi-Wan knew that his work was not yet done. He knew that there would always be more battles to fight, more enemies to face, and more mysteries to uncover.

And so he continued on his journey, guided by the knowledge and wisdom of the Djinn, and driven by a deep sense of purpose and duty. For Obi-Wan Kenobi, the journey never truly ends.
