An Autist's Guide to the Rats of NIMH

An Autist's Guide to the Rats of NIMH is a fan fiction of the children's book "Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH" written by Robert C. O'Brien. This fan fiction is NOT cannon with the original book, and the book is NOT cannon in this fan fiction. This fan fiction has changed so much over the years that it hardly even resembles the original book.

No, "Racso and the Rats of NIMH" are NOT considered cannon with "Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH" in this fan fiction. For one, I haven't read it. And two, the plot from the original book has long since been tossed out, making whatever Jane has to say on the matter completely irrelevant.

This fan fiction is organized in a series of articles. This is for a number of reasons:

1.) I'm quite a bit lazy and don't enjoy the idea of writing a novel. My main hobbies are in the realm of working on electronics and coding, not writing.

2.) I like to come up with specific topics in this fictional universe whilst daydreaming. By organizing this fan fiction into articles it means I can focus on "side things" without having to somehow shoe horn it into the main plot.

3.) Its quite flexible. If I want to retroactively change something, it'll be a bit easier.

4.) It allows the reader to select what THEY want to read.

Whats that? I want to explore the idea of bootleg Leapster cartridges? No problem! Really stupid armchair military nerd ideas for weapons that most certainly won't work in the real world? No problem! V.93 Dial up modems with a "species select" AT command for higher bandwidth on phone lines designed for the rodent voice? No problem! Moonlight Savings Time? No problem!

Viewer Discretion is Advised

Seriously, this fan fiction involves some pretty serious shit. First of all being sentence enhancers, but second being that stuff like war crimes WILL be discussed. Like, hell, there's going to be a section on fucking AMERICAN DEATH SQUADS.

While those do already exist (black mystery vans kidnapping prominent protest leaders during the BLM protests [slightly before/during COVID-19], all El Salvador death squads). I'm pretty sure young children very much DON'T want to learn about how the US government hunted all the sentient rats and mice where they would be killed en-mass on the spot.
