Inibri prided himself on his composure, on his polite unfazed mask he wore in face of the most dangerous Sith Lords in the galaxy.Still as a new Dark Council member a meeting with the Emperor’s “Wrath” was an inevitable if undesirable con to becoming Darth Nox, minister to the Sphere of Ancient Knowledge.
Which is why he should not have been so taken aback as giant of a Sith pureblood specimen entered silently into his office headquarters on Korriban late one evening.Thankfully years of harsh and diligent training had installed in the twi’lek a mask that rarely came off and his face and posture remained cool and at polite ease.
Even in the face of the void that was the Wrath’s presence.
“My Lord, you honor me with your presence- “Inibri began rising gracefully from his seat prepared to offered the expected curtsies of refreshments and delicious.
Only for Lord Scourge to snort contemptuously cutting him off to wave the door shut and locked behind him with a flicker of the force, before reaching out above them, and with the nonchalance and bluntness of a hammer the Sith pureblood punched the only inlaid light in the room, casting the room into darkness save for the dim corner lights.
A crimson light suddenly ignited as the Wrath’s lightsaber turned on, luminating Inibri office in a harsh blood red glow. This put the twi’lek lord on edge yet he did not reach for his own lightsaber, still he was thankful it was on his hip and on hand. Yet the pureblood merely ignored him for a moment as he reached up and tore a wired object from the now broken fixture. As the Wrath approached his desk, he placed his still lit lightsaber on the desk between them illuminating both their faces, as a massive palm showed the small device-a bug, Inibri realized cursing himself mentally. It appeared he need to do some “sharp” questioning of the cleaning droids and cleaning staff.
“Daily bug checks are a necessity young Nox, or your time in that chair shall be short indeed.” Lord Scourge stated crushing device he held in a burst of sparks, before using the force to hold them above his lightsaber causing the last metallic bits to catch on fire, till nothing but dust remined.
Inibri decided to play the polite host. “I thank you for such useful advice my Lord Wrath and if I can be of assistance- “
“What is your knowledge of young chiss Jedi that goes by that silly moniker of “Sass?” Scourge cut him off abruptly.
That…. threw the Twi’lek off slightly, while Inibri held high expectations on the Jedi’s future usefulness, the fact was that Sass was still a newly knighted Jedi and had not grown into his true potential, an eager and pleasing partner in bed for sure, but Inibri had a dozen more deadly and pertinent schemes already in the works that would bear fruit far sooner.
“…I have crossed paths with him a few times, and I hope to persuade him to join the Empire.”
“As your apprentice?” Lord Scourge stated matter of factly.
“…I would not be opposed to a strong disciple, even a former Jedi.” The twi'lek confessed easily, he would not be the first sith to steal away a Jedi from the order for a apprentice nor the last. It happened often enough as not to be considered particulary noteworthy.
“He has shown interest in the dark side?” The wrath asked pointedly, Inibri detected a hint of interest in that deep rumbling voice.
“If coaxed correctly and put under enough stress then yes, I have seen him tap into the darkness.” Inibri stated memory drifting to when the Jedi had truly strayed from the Jedi path, if only for a moment or so.
“Such as when you prodded that weakling Sadic into turning the Jedi’s human lover into a mindless cyborg?” Lord Scourge remarked with a drawl.
Inibri thought back fondly to seeing the young Jedi mercy slay the corrupted SIS spy, for a moment grief and rage had overtaken Sass, that was until his little human padawan had coaxed him back to sanity and reason.A pity it only lasted a moment, but then Inibri still had the holo-recording to remember it by.
“Sadic needed little encouragement in his desperation to impress Angral, it was a foolish SIS agent who crossed the cyborgs path without covering his tracks adequately, was the human one of your spies my lord? If so my apologies for causing you to lose an asset- “He bowed his head slightly till Lord Scourge cut him off with a wave of his hand.
“I care little about some dead spy, what I am more interested is the spy you have aboard the Jedi’s ship? Clever ruse, I almost did not question his newest stalwart ally. However, my spies are far more competent, and whispers have reached me how the Jedi will occasionally disappear for days at a time near Hutt and wild space. Coincidently when you yourself also disappear. Strange how such tidings occur simultaneously.” Blood red eyes glared down pointedly at the smaller Twi’lek
A lesser man would have twitched or broken under such a gaze, and the force prodding into his mind from the Wrath.
Inibri was no lesser man, he was a lord of the Sith, and as such he stared unblinking back at the Wrath.
“Strange indeed the force is.” Blue lips stated calmly.
“Strange indeed, how the force provides…unique opportunities.”
Blue lekku’s slightly twitched at Scourge emphasized the last bit, Inibri’s interest growing, whilst the pureblood continued after the slight pause.
“I have one such for you, keep the Jedi under watch, keep your efforts to persuade him to the darkness, keep your spies, see him reach his full potential. And I will ensure the emperor hears no ill word of you, and that your enemies receive no chance to dispose of you, the protection of the Emperor’s Wrath is no small thing, Nox.” The giant of a Sith vowed.
And indeed, he was not incorrect Inibri knew, the Twi’lek own newly earned position on the council as a alien, much less a former slave was not ideal.Particularly after Lord Scourge had revealed oh so callously the cracks in his spy network with that little hidden bug. And, he admitted to himself he was indeed curious on why such a high ranking feared Sith pureblood firmly in the emperor’s lap would take such interest in an alien Jedi hybrid? For an apprentice? Lover? Was Sass his long-lost spawn? A pawn in a bigger game?
Inibri was quite curious to find out.
“I would be grateful for any assistance you may provide Lord Wrath, and I will endeavor to aid you in return.”
“Then start by finding out what his true name is, where he hails from, who trained him. I expect answers soon Nox. And Nox? It would be a grave mistake if anyone should find out about our arrangement, or if the jedi were to disappear.” Scourge glared at the twi’lek, a gloved hands on his lightsaber hilt to emphasize the point.
“Because I would not like you for an enemy?” Inibri stated matter of factly.
Lord Scourge stared at him flatly as he rose from his chair turning off the light saber and hilting it once more, before replying coolly.
“Because you would not live long enough to regret crossing me.”
And with that the feared Emperor’s Wrath left his chamber’s, and Darth Nox became one of the few Darth’s to survive a prolonged meeting with a known Sith-killer and the Emperor’s personal feared dog while coming out not only alive but with a powerful ally.Still gloved hands reached in a drawer for a flash of strong liquor Inibri always keep hidden along with a glass. Pouring himself a generous amount, he set about summoning his spies and all cleaning droids.
The Jedi could wait till tomorrow, but first he needed to weed out the moles who had been spying on him. Besides, after surviving an encounter many had not what better way to put himself back at ease then a strong drink and the screams of a traitor as they writhed beneath his feet?
