To put it as simply as possible, that was the best blowjob Hermann Gottleib had ever received in his entire goddamn life. Not that he had much time to bask in the afterglow of its ecstasy, of course. For the second after he had pulled out and collapsed onto the floor beside Newton, the latter had doubled over and gasped in pain. Needless to say, Hermann had snapped back to reality quite quickly after that. He barely had time to yank his pants back into place before moving to his lov— um, his ex-lab partner’s side.
Hermann held his partner in his arms, just like he had held him in that rusty Shatterdome lab all that time ago. Newton’s gasps had turned into faint whimpers as Hermann began to run his thumb across his cheek in an attempt to comfort him. Hermann sighed.
Suddenly remembering their current state, Hermann took the liberty of putting Newton’s pants and underwear back on. He would probably feel better if he woke up with his clothes on, as opposed to being naked, Hermann guessed. He was still concerned with what had caused Newton’s sudden pain. Had it been Hermann himself? He did grab Newton’s hair quite roughly, was that what caused it? He hadn't meant to hurt Newton, he never would hurt Newton. But before he could continue that thought, Newton’s eyes had opened. He was awake!
“Newton, are you alright?” Hermann asked, still quite panicked and concerned. His partner simply stared up at him with wide eyes for several tense seconds, before his face broke into a smile.
“Gone! They’re gone!” Newton exclaimed suddenly, his voice clearly ecstatic and filled with joy.
Hermann was about to ask him just exactly what was going on, but he was interrupted by Newton grabbing the sides of his face and pulling him into a passionate kiss. All Hermann could feel in that moment was love. Pure, undying, infinite love. When Newton pulled away from their kiss, all Hermann could seem to do was gaze into the eyes of the man whom he loved. Into the eyes of the man who possessed the other half of Hermann’s soul.
Newton began to laugh hysterically, his body overcome with pure joy. But that didn't last very long, as his partner’s laughs quickly turned into sobs. Tears rolled down his cheeks while he curled in on himself in an attempt to gain some sort of small comfort; to no avail, of course. He was obviously in distress, but Hermann hadn't the faintest idea as to why. Unless...
Oh, god. Had he somehow hurt Newton? He didn't mean to, of course, but what else could explain his current state? Hermann supposed that he had grabbed Newton’s hair quite hard when he was receiving the blowjob. He’d also been quite rough with Newton, remembering himself grabbing his partner’s head and thrusting it back and forth. This was his own fault. He had finally been able to reconnect with the man he loved, and he’d screwed it all up immediately.
“Newton, did I...Did I hurt you? Please, talk to me.” Hermann said, tentatively putting his hand on Newton’s shoulder in what he hoped was a comforting gesture.
Newton shook his head in return, before opening and closing his mouth several times, as if he couldn't find the right words to say. But he then snapped his head up, looked directly at Hermann, and said the words that Hermann would think about continuously for years to come.
“Look, Herms, you need to listen to me and not interrupt until I’m finished talking, okay? The precursors are back. They took control of me and now they are in my head. Or were, I’m not sure. I don’t know how, but I’ve managed to break free from their grip, at least for now. I’ve been under their influence for months, that’s why I’ve left to work at Shao’s, and why I’ve been keeping my distance with you. They’re planning on reopening the Breach, by putting kaiju brains into the drones I’m supposed to build. Don’t let them do it, please.”
Hermann was stunned. Literally, his whole body had frozen up in horror after Newton had finished speaking. He had felt like something was off with his partner recently, but he had never thought that it would be something like this. Hermann quickly pulled Newton into a tight embrace, tears in his eyes.
“I… I had a feeling, the moment you left the PPDC, that something wasn’t right, but I… I convinced myself that I was just reluctant to let you go because of the feelings I held for you… I should have known better… I’m so sorry Newton.”
Newton seemed to hug him back, but suddenly tensed up and pulled away from Hermann, now resembling a frightened deer of sorts.
“Don’t stay so close to me, they could regain control and hurt you.” Newton said. “Shit, I think… I think you should restrain me. For your own safety.”
At this point Hermann just didn't know what to say or do anymore. He just silently stared at the man that he loved, at a complete loss for words. It was almost like he was in a trance of some kind, though he was snapped out of it when Newton shoved his belt into Hermann’s hands.
“Look, I know it’s a lot to take,” Newton said. “But you really need to tie my wrists. Please.”
With no other choice, Hermann simply had to pull Newton’s arms behind his back and wrap the leather strap around them. He was trying to be as careful as possible with how tight he made the bonds, so as to not hurt Newton.
“Tighter,” Newton said.
Hermann paused for a moment. “I don't want to cut off your blood flow.” He whispered.
“I know you mean well, but when they come back, they will be pissed. This will be safer for us both.” Newton responded urgently.
Hermann still disliked the idea but tightened the belt around his partner’s wrists anyways. He could hear Newton let out a sigh of relief.
“Great, now you must send a message to someone at the PPDC to warn them of the situation. Don’t tell me who, I don’t want to put a target on anyone’s back. You just need to get the information out there so that someone can stop me if The Precursors somehow manage to... Well, silence us both.” Newton instructed him.
“Very well,” Hermann answered. “That is...manageable.” He fumbled in his back pocket for his phone, texting a message to Acting Marshall Hercules Hansen.
-(URGENT)Dr. Geiszler’s mind was taken over by The Precursors. They planned to hijack the Shao Industries drone program and reopen The Breach by implanting kaiju brains in the drones. Dr. Geiszler is currently in control of his own mind but is restrained in case he is taken over again. No one is injured. Dr. Geiszler and I are currently inside his apartment. Assistance is required ASAP-
Hermann’s phone chimed, confirming that the message had been sent. He informed Newton of this, and he simply fell back onto Hermann’s chest with a ‘Thank you' emerging from his lips. But then at just that moment, the gravity of their situation came crashing down onto Hermann.
If The Precursors had been controlling Newton up until just now, then that meant Newton had been forced to give Hermann a blowjob. He didn't want to do it, he had no choice at all in the matter. And Hermann had enjoyed it, he’d encouraged it, he’d pulled Newton’s hair and roughly thrusted into his mouth, and Newton hadn't wanted it. He didn't want Hermann. Oh god, did this count as rape? Had he raped Newton? Was he an actual rapist? He couldn't stop thinking about that word. Rape. That was what he’d done to Newton, he-
“What?” Newton interrupted his racing thoughts, clearly sensing that Hermann was distractedly thinking about something else.
“You didn't want this,” Hermann whispered out, his voice small and soft.
“Wait, wait, don’t you start guilt-tripping yourself, you’re not getting the whole picture here!” Newton exclaimed.
“Really?” Hermann said, now feeling quite disgusted with himself. “Please, do tell me, what is there to misunderstand? A hivemind possessed you and for some reason made you pretend you had feelings for me, then it forced you to engage in...in intercourse with me against your will!” Hermann shouted this last bit.
“I have feelings for you!” Newton cried out. “I...I’ve been in love with you for years. The precursors only forced me to confess because I...I was convinced you’d push me away if you ever learned how I felt about you. And so, when you came to speak with me at Shao’s, they went ‘Hey, what if we forced Newt to make a fool of himself so his crush never talks to him again?’ Because, well, I never imagined you would love me back, and apparently neither did they. Sucking you off was definitely not part of their original plan. And also, I liked it. Being intimate with you, I mean. Sure, I would have preferred to do it without aliens in my head, but like, I wasn’t disgusted by it or anything, on the contrary. Also, I definitely wouldn’t be opposed to doing it again, you know, once the whole “having precursors in my head” gets solved and... Oh...”
Newton trailed off, his face going completely blank suddenly. Hermann tensed up, worried that The Precursors had taken over his partner’s mind again. But then Newton burst out into a fit of giggles.
“Man, I think I’ve figured it out!” He stated, loudly.
“Figured out what?” Hermann inquired, still quite confused.
“The reason why the precursors left my body.”
Hermann’s confusion only increased. “Then can you enlighten me on what enticed them to leave?”
Newt’s laughs only grew louder at his question, to the point where tears appeared at the corners of his eyes. “I think you literally fucked them out of me, dude!”
“Pardon, I what?”
“Gimme a second to catch my breath and I’ll explain my theory.”
It took Newton a few moments to stop giggling, but then he was able to continue with his explanation. “So, the thing is, the precursors started disappearing from my mind when you, uh, came in my mouth. And they also screamed about how I tricked them right after I swallowed. My hypothesis is that some component of your cum must have been toxic to them or something, so it forced them to leave.”
Hermann was now concerned that there had indeed been serious brain damage left by The Precursors inside Newton’s head. “You do realize that this sounds absolutely ridiculous, right?”
“Look, I’m working with what little data I have here, okay, and the precursors just sounded very angry that I didn’t spit it out. Arguing with you again feels nice, though.” Newt winked at him and Hermann couldn’t repress a blush.
“The feeling is mutual. I must admit that I did miss your nonsense.” Hermann told him. Newton smiled at him and then leaned in to kiss Hermann. Hermann leaned back a little bit, hesitant about the kiss, considering what had just happened only a few minutes ago.
“Newton, are you sure this is a good idea? After what happened...”
“For the last time, I feel perfectly fine about blowing you off earlier,” Newton responded, sounding somewhat exasperated. “Do I wish we had taken things slower and while I was definitely not possessed by aliens? Yes. But did I get really turned on by you fucking my throat and tugging at my hair? Also yes. Look, you had no way of knowing I wasn’t able to fully consent to this. The precursors are to blame, not you. Damn, I don’t want to pressure you into anything, but the hope of seeing you again was one of the only things that helped me to hold on, so please don’t run away from me now...”
Newton’s voice broke on those last few words, and Hermann could then deny him comfort no longer. He wrapped an arm around Newton’s back, holding him close, before beginning to run his fingers through Newton’s hair soothingly.
“I’m not going anywhere,” Hermann assured his partner.
He continued to hold Newton for a little while longer, only stopping when his phone beeped, alerting him of a message from Marshall Hansen.
-Understood. The situation is being taken care of, and I am on my way to your location. A small team of agents will be arriving at the apartment in 12 minutes-
Hermann sighed in relief. “It was the PPDC.” He informed Newton. “They will be sending a team here soon. You are going to get help, Newton. You are not alone anymore.” Newton seemed to relax after hearing that.
Hermann’s leg was getting quite sore from sitting on the floor in their position for so long, and Newton couldn't be that comfortable either with his arms behind his back, he thought.
“Would you be fine with moving somewhere more comfortable?” He asked Newton. “Your arms must already be sore, I don’t want to make it worse by having you sitting on the floor.”
Newt seemed to consider this for a few seconds before answering. “Yeah, sure.”
“Where would you feel more at ease?” Hermann asked. “In your bedroom, maybe?”
Newton immediately winced at Hermann's proposition.
“No, bad idea. There... sort of is a kaiju brain in there?”
Hermann didn't have the energy nor the patience to deal with that at the moment, even if he wanted to. He should probably inform Marshall Hansen of that as well, but it could wait until later.
“Your couch, then?” He asked Newton.
Newton agreed, and let Hermann guide him to his feet and over onto the couch.
------- [10 minutes later] --------
The front door to Newton’s apartment opened, and 15 PPDC agents in full uniform entered with their weapons ready at their sides. Hermann could feel Newton trembling just beside him upon seeing the team enter. Hermann just rubbed soothing circles on his partner’s back, hoping that it would calm him down just a little. Looking back at the door, Hermann sighed in relief upon seeing two familiar faces enter the apartment.
Acting Marshall Hercules Hansen and Junior Marshall Mako Mori walked calmly toward the pair of scientists on the couch. Hansen held a hand up back at the team of agents, signaling for them to remain where they were.
“We got your message, Hermann,” Hansen stated. “We’ve already got a secure room set up back at the Shatterdome for him.” He then turned to Newton. “Hey, Newt? Do you think that you can take a couple of deep breaths for me, buddy?” He asked. “I know that we all look a little intimidating at the moment, but the agents are just here as a precaution. Okay?”
Newt shuddered as he attempted to slow his breathing down, although he was still shaking quite a bit. “Okay.” He muttered.
“Great. Now Mako is going to put some actual restraints on you now, and then we can all head back downstairs to where our vans are waiting. Okay?” He addressed Newton once more as Mako knelt down in front of Newt, a pair of PPDC-designed cuffs in her hands. She gave him a comforting smile.
“O-Okay,” Newton answered. Mako then took that as her cue to gently remove the belt which was currently binding his wrists behind his back, before bringing his wrists around in front of him, and securing the cuffs in place.
“Alright, are you able to walk to the elevator with us, or do you need us to get a stretcher?” Hansen inquired, his gaze fixated on Newton.
“No, I can, um...” Newton said. “I can walk okay.” Hansen gave a firm nod to the agents behind them, who then proceeded to clear a path to the elevator for them. Mako and Hermann helped guide Newton onto his feet, and towards the door.
As they made their way to the elevator, Hermann noticed tears welling up in the corners of Newton’s eyes. “Newton, listen to me.” Hermann addressed his partner. “Everything is going to be alright. I’m assuming we’ll need to do some medical tests when we get back to the Shatterdome, but they won’t be that invasive or painful, and I’ll be with you every step of the way. I’m going to be with you, you won’t be alone in this.” Newton nodded in return and gave Hermann a weak smile.
“Actually,” Hansen chimed in. “The tests can wait until tomorrow. You look like you need to rest for a little while first. We’ll get you a change of clothes and something to eat if you feel up to it, then you can sleep for a while. No offense here, Geiszler, but you look like shit.”
Newt snickered in response as they all entered the elevator. “Thanks, Herc. Plus, I feel like shit already, so your statement’s pretty accurate there.” Hansen, Mako, and Hermann all smiled together with Newt as the elevator began to descend downwards.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next morning, Hermann found himself sitting on the cot set up for him directly next to Newton’s cell/room. He could have slept somewhere else, of course. But he had given Newton a promise that he would stay with him, and by Jove, he was going to keep it! He simply just watched Newton through the reinforced glass wall, as he had been doing for the past hour or so.
Newton’s cell/room was of average size, (not unbearably small) with a small bathroom located behind a wall, allowing him a modicum of privacy. Half of the cell/room was just a wall of reinforced glass, so he could easily be observed by the neurological team. (Not to mention Hermann himself.) It was empty except for a smooth-edged chair bolted to the floor in the middle of the room, and a small bed attached along the side of the wall and the floor. Newton lay on that bed, clad in gray PPDC-issued sweatpants, socks, and a long-sleeved shirt. His wrists and ankles were secured to the sides of the bed with padded restraints, so his limbs wouldn't become red from chafing. A strap was across his chest as well, completely securing him to the bed.
His chest rises and falls somewhat steadily as Hermann watches him. But he could sense that his partner’s breaths were still laced with nervousness. He could still recall watching Newton shake and lightly sob after being restrained to the bed the previous night. Hermann couldn't go in and release him so as to comfort him, even though he wanted to do so badly, so all he could do was talk to Newton in a soothing tone of voice. It seemed to work somewhat, as he was able to ease into a fitful state of unconsciousness.
Suddenly, Newton let out a soft groan from his spot on the bed, his eyes slowly opening up. His eyes quickly landed on Hermann, and he smiled while a few tears rolled down his cheeks.
“Newton?” Hermann inquired. “Is everything alright?”
Newton chuckled. “I’m okay, Herms. These are tears of happiness, don't worry.”
Hermann frowned, confused. “Then why are you crying?”
“I realized that they didn't have control over my body right now and that you actually saved me and brought me back here.”
Hermann smiled back at him. “Of course, I saved you, Newton. I will always save you, no matter what.”
—---------------------------------------------------------------
Newton only had to be kept in the cell for 5 days. These days consisted of brain scans, blood tests, psychological assessments, and visits with a very friendly therapist named Julia. Newton had to be restrained at all times, except when he was alone in his cell/room in between his scheduled exam appointments. During that time he would mainly rock back and forth on the floor, cry, or talk to Hermann. Every night the guards came in to secure him to the bed, and every time Newton would shake uncontrollably with his eyes wide open in fear. The guards didn't hurt him, of course, (Hermann would have beat them mercilessly with his cane if they had) yet he was still afraid.
Hermann later asked him about this, and Newton explained that he was afraid that when the guards entered, The Precursors would see this as a perfect opportunity to take over his body and attack them. And if that happened, then the guards would use force to subdue him. That was part of the reason why he cried at night when he was restrained to the bed, he saw himself as a danger. He said that he knew why the restraints were necessary, but it still made him afraid when they were being used on him. Hermann had then given him a hug after that explanation, he’d looked like he needed it.
But finally, on Newton’s sixth day in the cell/room, the final results from all of the tests and exams came back. Newton’s mind was clear. The Precursors were gone, and there would be no lasting physical side effects left on his brain. (The psychological side effects were a whole other issue, but Newton could discuss that with Julia in their next session.) So Hermann rushed to Newton’s cell/room as fast as possible to give him the final results.
Hermann alerted the guards outside the door about the news, and they disabled the locking system in the cell/room for him. He thanked them and gladly strided over to Newton’s bed, which he was currently restrained to, as per usual. Hermann set the papers containing the final results down onto the bed next to Newton, and then proceeded to undo the restraints which secured him to the bed. Newton looked at him with a surprised expression and widened eyes.
“Wait, Herms, what are you doing? You shouldn't-” Newton began to say, but Hermann interrupted him before he could finish.
“There is no need for these anymore, Newton. Everything indicates that the precursors are gone from your mind for good.” Hermann announced to his partner as he finished undoing the restraints completely. Newton sat up and looked at him, shocked.
“Really? I mean, you’re sure?” Newton asked, his tone of voice still skeptical. Hermann simply nodded.
“See for yourself.” He told Newton, before handing him the various documents that he’d brought with him.
His partner then proceeded to thoroughly examine each one multiple times, as if he really couldn't believe the news. After several minutes of this, he set the documents down onto his lap, and simply uttered “I’m free.”
Hermann sat down on the bed next to him, not touching his partner just yet, he didn't know how Newt might react to having someone else touch him at the moment. “Yes, you are.” He confirmed in a soft tone of voice.
Newton didn't say anything for a few moments, but then picked up the documents and read through them once more. He did this for a few minutes, before grinning and turning his gaze to Hermann.
“Oh, so apparently it was hypothesized that the precursors were forced to leave my body after being put in contact with a substance that was apparently harmful to them, although no one knows exactly what component had that effect on them.” He stated.
Hermann could see where he was going with this.
“Newton, don’t you start again with that ridiculous idea…”
“Come on, just face the truth, dude. The aliens are totally allergic to your cum!”
“Do you absolutely have to be so crass?”
“Hey, I’ve spent months with the precursors in my head, I’m allowed to have a little fun! And to be honest, the prospect of having to blow you to stay precursors free is a rather appealing one. You know, just to be safe. Also, this is too good for me not to tease you about it. I mean, just imagine how that would look on your resume ‘Hi, I’m Doctor Hermann Gottlieb, I saved the world twice, the first time with my brain and the second with my c…’” Hermann cut him off there.
“Don’t you even dare finish that sentence, you insufferable man!”
Newton giggled, and though Hermann would never admit it, he wanted to giggle as well. It was the first real sign of happiness from Newton that Hermann had seen in quite a while.
Newton’s eyes became filled with tears, and he looked back to Hermann. “No, but more seriously, thanks for rescuing me. These last few months… I was just so lost and scared and afraid that I would never be myself again, but you put a stop to all this. You saved me, Herms.”
For a moment, Hermann remained still, uncertain of how he should respond. But he quickly put his hesitations aside to wrap his arms around the man he loved, before pressing a light kiss onto his forehead.
“It’s good to have you back, Newton.” He whispered, his eyes becoming filled with tears as well.
Now that The Precursors were really gone, Hermann and Newton had all the time that they needed to be together. Sure, there would be nightmares, panic attacks, and arguments, but all in all, Hermann Gottleib finally got to be with the man that he loved. And that was worth it for him.
