Chapter Text
Gerard Way hates being an omega. His entire life he has envied betas. Betas get to live completely unbothered by expectations of breeding and submissiveness. Gerard, on the other hand, has been bothered by it ruthlessly. Every month or so his body goes into heat, in which it begs him to be bred. Every time he sees an attractive alpha, his body begs him to run up and submit. His body had this horrible habit of begging. Gerard had been on heat blockers for a while, though he was always afraid of the side effects. Apparently, If his body decided on a suitable mate, it would immediately try and submit to the mate in any way it could even if the sexual aspect of submitting was blocked. Gerard continued to use the blockers regardless; despite his body’s habits, Gerard has managed to stay far away from Alphas. Growing up he was always the odd one out, alphas his age never bothered with him and he was happy staying under the radar for the most part. However, as he grew older, his short brown hair, big doe eyes, and plump pale figure ended up gaining him more attention that he would have liked. You’d think that at this point atleast one alpha would have caught Gerard’s fancy, but nope. Every single one managed to make him feel like a piece of meat that they slobbered over. Any chance was shot down as soon as the word “breedable” was used to describe him. It was terrible. As a kid in highschool he didn’t have much luck with dating since no one ever noticed him, now, as an adult, he found that people had a habit of “noticing” too much about him. And so, here Gerard was, single, very much NOT pregnant, and happy with both. Gerard didn’t have time for a relationship considering his job anyways. Speaking of his job, that’s where he was currently headed.
Ray Toro was the only alpha Gerard kept as close company. He and Ray had met in art club at their highschool and had continued to talk ever since. Ray was charming, comforting, and he knew how to use both of those traits well. He managed to snag an amazing job at a publishing company fresh out of school, and, using his charm yet again, had managed to find Gerard a cozy position in the art department as well. It was perfect. Gerard got to do what he loved, get paid for it, and work in the same building as one of his closest friends. Though it was stressful at times working on a tight schedule for all his projects, he found his job was one of the most relaxing aspects of his routine. And, though he hates to say it, a relaxing environment was really important for his omega needs.
Gerard makes his way up the stairs to the 3rd floor of the office building. He could use the elevator, but he liked finding little ways to exercise throughout the day. Lord knows he would do anything to get rid of the chub around his thighs. No matter what he did it seemed he could never get rid of the omega fat. Gerard was looking forward to getting into his office, he didn’t get to have coffee this morning since he slept in so he wanted to set up and then run to the coffee machines nearby as well as start on a new project he was excited about. He already felt better soon as he turned the corner and saw the door to his office. Or…he HAD felt better. Soon as he got closer he was shocked to smell a new scent coming from behind the closed door. Getting a little closer he felt his shoulders drop in relief as he recognized the smell to be Ray. Now even more excited to greet his friend, he got even closer, only pausing again once he reached the door handle. With his hand at the door, ready to open it, he stood quietly. There was someone else too. Another alpha. The scent was rich and musky, almost velvety. Gerard…didn’t mind it as much as most alpha scents. Alphas who often approached him often had scents that were overwhelming and fake-y. Gerard, though a little afraid, figured that if this alpha was with Ray there shouldn’t be any harm, right? He opened the door shyly, looking up to see a mass of curly hair turn towards him with a smile.
“Ah! There you are! Morning, Gee!”
Gerard couldn’t help but smile at the nickname, his smile faltered a little as he turned his attention towards the second figure standing next to Ray. The alpha was stocky with short dark hair, roughed up and gently combed back, nothing like Ray’s. His facial hair was less of a cover-up and more of an accessory for his round but defined chin and soft pink lips. He seemed professional in the way he carried himself despite dressing fairly casual. Though any aspects of professionalism were dimmed by his piercings: a ring around his lip and small black gauges in his ears. His eyes were an attractive brownish-green, hazel, maybe? They creased slightly as the alpha smiles politely, hinting to Gerard that he may have been staring a little too long. Gerard quickly turned back towards Ray, awaiting an explanation for the visit.
”Sorry for not warning you, I know you like to keep your office pretty personal”
Ray motions for the guest to come closer.
”This is Frank! He just got a job in my department, he’s technically my boss, but seeing as he’s new I was asked to show him around a bit.”
Gerard nods and let’s the door fall behind him.
”Oh! Um, hi Frank. Why are you showing him my office, though?” He asks, saying it as polite as he can. He isn’t asking to be rude, he’s genuinely curious.
“Ah, well, Frank’s actually kind of an artist himself and so I figured I’d show him some of our best artist’s work!” Ray’s smile widens.
Gerard feels himself blush a bit at the compliment. He’s about to come up with a response before Frank speaks first.
”I’m really not much of an artist, trust me, I failed painting class in my Junior year. Was supposed to be an easy A too,” Frank chuckles out the last part before continuing “I’m a fan of art though, and you really are talented, I hope you don’t mind us snooping a bit?”
Gerard’s blush creeps up through his nose and onto his temples, he can feel it. He’s always partial to compliments about his passion. He can feel his blush diminish as he suddenly remembers it’s an alpha he doesn’t know giving the compliment.
”Oh, um, no, I trust Ray.”
Frank smiles and nods, looking at Ray for what to do next.
”Aw, well, we’ll leave you alone, Gee. See you around!” Ray opens the door, motioning for Frank to walk ahead of him.
”Oh! Uh, you go ahead, Ray, I wanna ask…Gee..?”
”Gerard.” He’s quick to correct. Gee was for family and Ray only.
“Right, sorry, Gerard, some questions about his work”
Ray turns towards Gerard, worried, he knows how much Gerard dislikes alphas and, though Frank doesn’t seem the type so far, he can’t help but worry that Frank might try something with Gerard once he leaves.
“Alright, I’ll just wait outside the door then”
Frank nods and thanks Ray. As soon as the door closes Frank gets much closer to Gerard, forcing Gerard to press against the wall. Gerard instinctively flinches at the sudden close proximity and tucks his head into his chest, afraid to make eye contact. Gerard wants to punch him, kick him, ANYTHING, but his stupid omega instincts refuse to let him be aggressive towards an alpha. Especially one who smells so much better than other alphas. His heart beats fast, should he call for Ray? Is Frank really going to try something on his first day??
”You smell so good.”
Frank purrs gently, leaning down to look Gerard in the eye. Gerard gives in and takes a peak, studying Frank’s expression. He doesn’t seem menacing. In fact, his eyes are soft and kind. Gerard swallows and looks back down, unsure of what to say. He whimpers softly subconsciously.
”Oh, poor baby, I’m sorry, am I scaring you?”
Gerard looks up again to find Frank reaching out and petting him soothingly. Gerard’s first thought is to swat Frank’s hand away, how dare this alpha touch him when he didn’t even know Gerard’s name till a few seconds ago?? He’s about to tell Frank to get off him till he hears his body beg him not to. Gerard is usually so good about ignoring his omega instincts, maybe it’s because he hasn’t gotten his coffee yet, but for some reason he finds it harder than usual this morning.
”Shhh, I’m sorry, I just had to tell you. My alpha wouldn’t let me go unless I said something. You smell so nice, omegas always smell too sweet, but not you. I can’t help but be drawn to you.”
Gerard suddenly realizes he’d still been whimpering. He makes eye contact with the alpha, his “I hate alphas” mindset long forgotten. He still can’t come up with a response. But, of course, his body has already come up with one for him. Frank coos softly at Gerard’s mewing. Gerard has let himself nuzzle into Frank’s hand, his body doing what it does best and begging for Frank to continue. Gerard always thought that the privacy of his office space was what always made it so relaxing, but as he melts into Frank’s touch, he finds that privacy isn’t the only way. Frank opens his mouth to say something again before he’s interrupted by a timid knock on the door.
”Everything ok in there? Hope I’m not interrupting any super cool art discussions!” Ray asks nervously, he had heard distinctly Gerard sounds, but hadn’t sensed any distressed pheromones like he was usually able to detect when Gee was uncomfortable.
”Everything’s fine! We’re just about done, sorry for the wait!” Frank responds without hesitation. He turns back to face Gerard who is looking up at him shyly, “I’ll come visit you again soon, okay, pup?”
Gerard nods, allowing Frank to remove his hand and walk out the door towards Ray as if nothing happened.
Gerard pushes himself off his wall and into his desk chair. He shakes off the effects of what just happened.
Or, wait, no, actually…What the fuck just happened??
