Izuku hummed to himself as he eyed the menu over the counter. His mother had told him this boba stand had an excellent matcha flavored tea and, being the good son he was, decided to give it a try.
He hummed again, glancing subtly over his shoulder. Serosh had his eyes fixed on the menu as well. Out of the corner of his eye, Izuku could see passersby not so subtly moving as far from him and Serosh as the thoroughfare would allow, short of darting between one of the stalls lining the path.
He looked away from Serosh and gave the barista a weak grin. The green-haired youth had made his decision before he’d even walked up to the stall. All that was preventing him from ordering was Serosh. He knew the spectral lion had been staring at the screen long enough to read it completely several times over. Just what was taking him so long?
Serosh inhaled, opening his mouth. Then his jaw clicked shut as he shook his head.
I am fine, Little One.
Izuku blinked. “Are you sure? If you want something, I can order it.”
Serosh sagged over his shoulder. I am not even certain I could even consume such a beverage…
Izuku squinted at the mullish tone.
“Not certain because you’re not completely physical or because of the drink itself?”
Serosh looked away, silent.
Izuku inhaled deeply and huffed out a breath. “Mhm. Right. IF you could make a choice, what would you like?”
Serosh flicked an ear and blinked at the menu again.
…long…
“The what?”
… Uwulong…
Izuku blinked. Looked at the menu again. And snorted.
S’not funny!
Izuku chortled. “It’s AMAZING is what it is! One matcha and an…” He bit his fist. Across from him, the barista was trying their hardest to keep a straight face. “ Uwulong , please!”
LITTLE ONE.
“wHaT/?”
I DID NOT SAY I WANTED ONE.
“Soooo? I wanna try both! You can have a sip if you like!”
…very well.
“Here you go,” the barista said, sliding two tall cups and two straws across the counter. “One matcha and one uwulong .” Izuku grinned, still chuckling and pulled out the requisite coinage, handed it to the barista, and stabbed the straws into each drink. He promptly took a sip of the uwulong .
“Hmm. Not bad. I like it.” He held it out to Serosh and started drinking the one he came for. “Damn, this is REALLY GOOD!”
Hmm…
Izuku looked over his shoulder and saw Serosh licking his chops. He blinked at the empty cup in the lion’s paws.
“Oi! I wanted more of that!”
Hmmmmmm. Too late.
Izuku pouted, pulling the empty cup from Serosh’s paws and tossing it into a garbage receptacle as he drank his own boba.
Izuku… Do you have more money?
Izuku quirked a brow at the lion as he walked away from the boba stand. “Its a food strip. Of course I have more money.” After a moment, his eyes widened. “Wait, n-”
Passersby stared at the green haired boy and his spectral lion quirk argued over the quirk’s newfound uwulong addiction.
