Work Text:

Whatever happened to the young, young lovers?

All he could do was stare down. He was soaked in raindrops already, with how long it's been.
''My dearest, the only one I love is you.'' The words rang through his head, as the last few flowers he was holding dropped down onto the tombstone.

One got shot.

The man slowly fell to his knees, blood dripping onto the cold pavement. No, this couldn't be the end!
''Alhaitham!'' Familiar voices echoed across the city.
Those bastards. They killed him in front of everyone to see. Haitham... Haitham.

And the other got lost in drugs, punks, and blood on the street.

''Master Tighnari... I don't think Mr.Kaveh is doing okay.'' Collei whispered to the peculiar-eared forest watcher.

''Kaveh? I'd suggest you don't bother him. That execution took a toll on him.''

''But I think...''
''Collei.''
''Okay, master.'' If only he'd known, he would slap past him in the face right now.

Blood on his knees, bloody history.

Damn them all. Damn them all...! Kaveh cried out, but nobody was left to comfort him this time. People would pass by sometimes, all familiar faces.
Cyno, Collei, Nilou... But they aren't who he wished to see. He'd kill that damn Akademiya. He would swear on it.

Whatever happened to the hayloft? Burnt to the ground.

He watched the flames slowly grow each second.
Eventually, the Akademiya will have to deal with the fire. Considering they wouldn't want their precious building to burn down.

And what about pop? He took his ass to the crack shack, with his long johns on, singing that old song...

The ''Grand'' Sage. He was far from anything grand. To kill Alhaitham off would be their biggest mistake.
Kaveh's eye twitches at the thought of that man still sitting around, all comfy.

My baby's got a gun. I better run.

Those cowards. He walked around the Akademiya halls mindlessly. Would they have expected Kaveh's arrival by now?
He just wants to have a friendly chat.

An eye for an eye.

''Mr.Kaveh...? Why are you here?''

A leg for a leg.

The girl dropped down, knocked out. Her head had started to bleed.
What a pity.

A shot in the heart doesn't make it unbreak.

No therapy, no friends, nothing would ever heal Kaveh. His lover got taken away from his own eyes.
He'll stab them all in the heart where they can feel it too.
He would swear.

He really didn't wanna make it messy.

The Akademiya was already shady for all the shit they've done, but to kill off their scribe for treason?
It looks like the era of war would rise again, huh?
But just between a broken-hearted man and the Sages.

He really, really didn't, but the boy gone cray.

The doors slammed open. Pairs of eyes turned to Kaveh.
''Is that...?''
A few Sages whispered to each other.

He crucify.

There, the mess was cleaned up.
But Kaveh wasn't satisfied, killing just a few Sages in the Akademiya didn't satisfy.
He knew who he wanted.

Hey pop, you die. You die!

''The Grand Sage... I'll make your death the most grand of all.''

He's not a bad kid.

The news spread like wildfire across the city.
For just an architect, Mr.Kaveh managed to kill off a bunch of Sages...!?
Of course, the panic was transpired. But Kaveh wouldn't care about those little insect civilians.
They weren't responsible, anyways. It'd only be more convenient if they all backed away in fear.

He's not a bad kid.

''Kaveh, you're fucking insane.'' Tighnari had been criticizing at him.
The man had forced Kaveh with him, to avoid the damned public.

''Look, I'm not siding with the Akademiya, but you are aware of what you've just done to the whole of Sumeru, right? You're not walking out the same person.''

''I don't care.''

But he had to do it.

It was only fair.
They killed the person he loved the most, so he'll kill them all off too.
A life for a life. Wouldn't his precious Haitham be proud? He had to do it! Life wasn't fair. Kaveh can't live without Alhaitham.
Why are they all blaming him? It's not fair. All their faces. Tighnari's annoyance, Collei's fear, Cyno's deathly silence, Nilou's shock. All of this just proved, the archon they shunned away didn't love them either.
Lesser Lord Kusanali didn't save them. She didn't do anything.

They're not a bad kid.

Sure, maybe he understands, Grand Sages orders, blah blah blah... It's not their fault.
But they still chose to follow through. Spoiled brats, you all got what you deserved.

They couldn't not.

Kaveh laughed, it seems he had no sympathy for the lost lives and the horrifying atmosphere of the city.
Tighnari knew.
He was a lost cause.

They had to face off.

Still, Tighnari offered to take care of Kaveh, considering he can't go back to Haithams place.
He didn't like the Akademiya anyway, hiding a fucking criminal wouldn't be a problem, right?

He had to crack.

Kaveh didn't last long, anyways. He drove himself mad, and it led to his death.

Every corner of Sumeru had heard. To Port Ormos. It was a scarring turn of events.
But the closest ones to the broken lovers would never forget. They just couldn't.
...

''Mr.Kaveh, was it?'' The young white-haired girl sighed, sitting on an empty bed. If only she had known what was happening, maybe she could've helped her people, again.

What a genuinely great show put on tonight.

The two will reunite in the second life, surely.
