Chapter Text
Ghostface wheezed as he stumbled through the fog. He just wanted to be somewhere safe and hopefully treat his wounds but it was hard to see where he was going. The ground was shaky and blurry, his side had this annoying, dull ache, and he could barely string together sentences. He felt..drunk in a way, he hated it. He was sure the dull ache in his side was spewing blood but he couldn't be sure, his body was doing the exact opposite of what he wanted to do so looking at the wound was out of the question.
After what seemed like hours, his body collapsed to the forest floor. The impact made him groan and moan from the pain, for a second he was worried about one of the others finding him. The survivors wouldn't hesitate to get rid of him and the killers would just bathe in his suffering. Susie might be an exception, she's way too caring for her own good, he's surprised nobody has said anything about it yet. Maybe Evan will soon enough, he never shuts up when something is odd or bothers him personally as well as that one guy, Joey wasn't it? Danny didn't care anymore, he just wanted to die in peace and get a quick nap out of it too.
The forest floor didn't seem too bad, much better than whatever Huntress offered. He wondered what went on with her and her obsession with being a proper mother. He couldn't judge really her though, her reason for being here is somewhat selfless while his was selfish no matter how you looked at it. He also wondered how well of a mother she was before this realm, assuming she was a mom then. she seemed like one of those weird moms your friend had and you avoided coming over to their house.
Crack!
Ghostface would've snapped his attention to the noise if he wasn't bleeding out but he just lazily looks over, everything was still so blurry and wobbling. He squinted at a figure who seemed to act like a skittish animal, they held a defensive pose with one leg behind, like he was ready to run if there wrre any sudden movements. They stared at him but he couldn't make out a face or any identifying features on them, he doubted he'd know who they were anyways.
"Enjoying...tha' view?" Ghostface took a few seconds to pause and cough, he noticed a pink liquid card mixed with the blood. His throat felt scratchy and unused while he had been yelling and screaming moments ago, the figure seemed to move closer but by only an inch.
Ghostface went to push himself off the ground, his hand itching to wield his knife once more but his right arm just sort of, wiggled uselessly.
The person put a hand to their mouth and he noticed the shoulders move up and down, he was laughing wasn't he!? He would've said something but the dull ache in his side had started to settle and it flared up, pain coursing throughout his body. The dirt had definitely made it worse, he wouldn't be surprised if it was infected by now.
"Come on now.." A voice said, it was deep and definitely had an accent. 'British?' Ghostface thought for a second but the thought was quickly thrown away when two pairs of hands had grabbed him. He reacted when they were about halfway with getting him up and pulled away, unnecessarily violent and smacked his back into a tree and fell to the ground once more. He hadn't known that was there. His hand reached from his knife but it wasn't there, he felt a brief sense of panic before the pain had gotten his attention once more. They never tell you pain hates being ignored in slasher school, they should..
Ghostface decides to take a look now that he feels more in control of his body. He carefully look at his side which wasn't too hard now that he was suddenly in a sitting position. 'When did...?' He began to think before nothing how much blood he was covered in.
Blood covered his shroud, this much blood shouldn't even be able to come from one person. Did he kill someone? He heard a voice call for an item he couldn't quite make out, why was his hearing leaving him? he felt around for his knives, he needed to protect himself now! He felt nothing. They had been removed from their rightful spots, even his backups. Okay, no way to defend himself, fuck! He saw another hand grab his and remove it from his left side, and if the smell of iron wasn't bad before, it got worse. He coughed again and gasped for something, anything other than the air you'd expect to inhale in the trial basements. His right hand reached up and he clawed at the mask which was quickly removed by someone else, his vision had cleared up quite a bit and he could breath better. Why was everything all of a sudden too much for him to handle?
"—remove the shroud" was the last thing he registered before his vison went completely blank. Did he close his eyes? It was much better than the blinding..moon..when had the moon become a problem? When had everything become an issue? Self defense, seeing his injuries, why did he need to bother with that if he comes back? Even he couldn't understand himself now.
Felix went to take a deep sigh before quickly stopping himself, the stench of blood was too much for him already, best not to make it worse. He looked at Ghostface and almost felt sorry for him, he felt terribly bad for removing his cloak through. The killer seemed really keen on keeping it on if him trying to push Adam away was any indicator although, he wondered why, the worst of his injuries were under the cloak so it was smart to remove it. Thankfully though, he had other clothes on underneath. Leon tried to calm him but it seemed he couldn't be heard and after a while, Leon settled for examining his eyes. Okay...that's not weird.
"His eyes.." Leon muttered before looking at Felix, "They look glossy? I can't tell." He stated and Adam sighed.
"Figured, they do that.." he began before mumbling something unintelligible but Felix has a feeling what he was getting at.
"Why are we doing this? Killers come back, don't they?" Leon went back to staring at the killer who had closed his eyes, he let out a panicked noise before quickly slapping him and Ghostface gasped, looking at him once more. He reached his right hand up and Felix quickly stood while Adam continued to work, watching the killer from the corner of his eye.
"H..heeeyyyy" He whispered to Leon, his right hand placed on his shoulder.
"Hiiiii?" Leon replied, dragging the i's out to match Ghostface's greeting. He looked over at Felix who quickly shook his head, speaking to the kuller might make this worse.
Adam leaned back and let out a sigh of relief, he had gotten more blood on his coat than he should have but it would be worth it in the end.
"Did you have to talk to him?" Felix glared at Leon who put his hands up defensively.
"He couldn't even use our conversations against me! He kept talking about an elephant fursuit he found, what IS an elephant fursuit?!?" Leon raised his voice slightly as he spoke to which Adam shushed him, frustrated. Leon lowered his arms as he looked at the now sleeping killer, he looked incredibly annoyed.
"Why you two dragged me into this is something I can't understand. I feel like I'm enabling stupid decisions." He stated.
"Because you are, look at us! We saved Ghostface's life and now we are waiting for him to wake up, that can't go wrong." Felix huffed and crouched beside Ghostface, he seemed so human without that mask. It was hard to think they are anything but monsters but the human looking ones.. they send a shiver up his spine.
The killer was calmly breathing as he slept, as if he hadn't been dying moments ago and if Felix could, he would probably point out how Adam seemed so relieved Ghostface didn't die. He was a weird guy but he was probably even weirder for letting this all happen, this made his feelings about killers a tiny bit more complicated than they should be. Seeing him out in the forest dying like this...it reminded of him of a trial with his friends. Trials always stressed him out and he didn't think he could stand seeing another person die even if that person had murdered him a little too many times before.
Ghostface shifted slightly and turned to his side, facing away from Felix with his arm slightly stretched out. Leon came to crouch beside said survivor and he turned Ghostface onto his back once more but he simply turned to the side again.
It went back and forth for a while, Leon putting him on his back and the killer turning to his side again, Felix wouldn't be surprised if he woke up from all this moving or if he was already awake, planning an attack or planning to frustrate them to no end.
Leon let out a slightly agitated grunt as he turned Ghostface onto his back but instead of removing it, he pressed both hands on his shoulders and kept him there.
"Be careful of his wounds, Leon." Adam warned to which Leon mumbled an apology before his hands slightly let up, not too much pressure to bother his wounds but not too little to let him turn over. Felix chuckled at the sight of them, he was slightly glad he brought Leon along, entity knows Jill wouldn't keep this a secret so willingly, Tapp would flat out refuse and leave them, and Chris would leave as soon as the killer was patched up, he would tell the others if they asked for some reason.
Minutes turned to hours and hours turned to probably even more hours. They all got called to matches a couple of times but everytime they came back, Ghostface would still be unconscious. It almost bothered Adam how long he was taking but he was patient enough. Leon was not.
"When is he gonna wake up? We've been waiting for quite a long time, the others have definitely noticed our disappearance because Chris asked me about it during a trial!" Leon sat on the ground, wiping some blood off of his face and onto his vest.
"If you're bored, go back to camp." Adam stated, "We can't bring him to the camp unless we wanna hide him in my tent or something."
"That might work, that way I'll still be around to help you and Felix!" Leon's face brightened up and quickly stood, moving towards the killer before Felix stepped in front of the young cop.
"Woah now, no." He said firmly, "We can't, you should know that is a risk we should not toy with." and Leon slumped, nodding his head.
The cop sat back down on the forest floor and Felix followed suit, they faced Ghostface who was still peacefully resting away and had gotten his way to sleep on his side. Even in sleep the killer is annoying as ever.
