Chapter Text
Same routine, same days. After some point the reality would start to feel not as real with nothing new happening in life. Makes you feel like a machine, not alive. Just doing what you are coded to do. Wake up, get ready, eat some stuff, go to work, suffer and come back.
Which was perhaps the reason why you would do something like this, getting job in the oh so big Fazbear Megaplex despite all the... creepy rumors. Dead and lost children, killer animatronics, murderers... And somehow after everything the company was still here standing and people were still visiting it.
Who were you to judge though? You were going to work there.
Getting a job? Like really? Was that your end?
In your defense, they paid very well and didn't want a lot of experience. And you liked children as well! So why not be the Daycare Assistant? With a robot? Nothing could go wrong, right? Right?
Well, it would at least give your life a bit of difference, something out of ordinary. So what if you got killed by a robot, got crashed? At least you wouldn't die old and alone after some pityful life. Was your assuring working? Who knows. Just ignore your sweaty hands, keep on walking. Ignore the other workers that look at you curiously, ignore the anxiety, yup.
This place would get so crowded, so many people… And that was enough a reason to turn around and forget about it but no. You had to force yourself right? Push your limits? At least try? That was the advice being told nonstop afterall. So you kept on walking and after a bit looking around you finally saw the Superstar Daycare. You had to be there before 7, so your pace fastened since you were so close to being late. Walking through a long hall you had to keep yourself from getting distracted with all the posters around. Not the time!
It was a good try of trying to not get distracted until you were face to face with a big golden statue of two characters. One was themed by the Sun, looking energetic and happy with his arms up. The other was the Moon, holding a more mischievous aura with that weird crouch. Cool.
"Hey." Your head turned towards the voice a bit too quickly and blinked at the employee behind the desk, who was holding his hands up to your jumpiness. "...Are you the new assistant?"
The question made you come back to yourself a bit better, no longer that distracted by the statue, you nodded.
"Yeah. Do I... just go down there?" The guy shrugged with a smile and you felt yourself relax to his expression. He seemed nice. As you walked towards him, he leaned on the counter in front of him and gestured the stairs with a hand.
"Yeah, just go down the stairs from here. I am Easten by the way, I handle the stuff up here." You smiled back and answered him with your name. After saying your ‘see you’s and him making a soldier salute, you waving, you strolled down the stairs a bit more excited. The talk was short and appreciated, you could only hope the other people you meet would be just as nice. No matter the talk wasn’t even 5 minutes, it was still pleasant. You stopped in front of the doors and just walked in, not bothering with knocking. It was dumb anyway, why did you even think about knocking?
After closing the door behind you, you took a look around the empty daycare. You easily found yourself smiling as you stared all the colors and toys around you. It was bright, maybe a bit too loud, and colorful. It seemed like such a fun place, enough to fill you with the childish excitement. You shook your head slightly and put your stuff on the security desk right by the doors. You weren't a child and you weren’t here to play. You were the assistant that took care of the children... But you would still play around here with the kids maybe. To keep an eye on them of course. Not like your inner child was jealous or anything.
Humming along with the cheerful theme at the back, you looked what’s on the desk. A few small papers that were explaining your job and a watch that was styled after the Fazbear himself. It was cute really, the top hat and all, so you didn’t wait to put it on with a smile. You wondered if there were other watches designed after the other animatronics. As you continued with tidying up the desk a bit, you noticed again, you were really alone. You were sure that one of the notes was mentioning the Daycare Attendant, saying that it would let you know the things you should know about your job.
So you lifted your head to look around the daycare once again. To your surprise you caught a glimpse of blurs of yellows before it disappearing quickly, making you flinch. You stepped around the desk cautiously. This was fine. Why wouldn't be? Surely the attendant wouldn’t just... kill... you. Maybe it was just shy. Yup, fine.
Just a shy robot. You snickered at the thought. Shy robot, of course.
"Uhh... The Attendant? Are you here?" You gently called out, not sure what else to do other than walking towards the place where you last saw the colors. "I am the new assistant! We are... coworkers now, I guess."
"...Coworkers?" The voice startled you for a second as you weren't expecting it. The attendant’s voice sounded suspicious of you but also interested in a way.
"Y-Yeah!" Stop getting nervous. Stop getting nervous. Yeah sure, maybe you didn't expect them to sound this human but no need to be nervous! You stopped on your steps and waited patiently, your eyes still looking where it disappeared. It didn’t leave you waiting so long as a round head finally peaked out.
You were no longer tense all of a sudden, intrigue pushing away all the anxiety. It was the Sun one, you noted. The crescent moon was pale as the other half was a warmer yellow, matching the sun rays. His eyes were blank white and he was just like the statue but more colorful... alive. As your short attention span choosed his fascinating design to focus on, your company narrowed it's eyes.
Woah. Even eyelids?
"Huh..." It hummed and stepped out fully, showing you it's whole body and got closer. You didn’t get the chance to admire it’s jester outfit and design as it towered over you, making you feel even smaller. Why would it be so tall?? You held yourself from stepping back as it crouched down to take a closer look at you. The bot’s face tilted to the side and a few seconds later, satisfied with the observation, it clapped it's hands. "Well, friend! Welcome to the Daycare, you were late you know? Almost thought you just wouldn't come!"
You were pretty sure you were late like 5 minutes but still felt embarrassed from getting a scolding from the bot. Was this scolding? You had no idea.
"Sorry about that. But I'll be on time after this, promise!" Your laugh came out nervous and you couldn’t help but fiddle with your hands a bit, a nervous habit. The Attendant looked at you with a tilted head and you would dare to say it almost looked amused. "I am (Y/N), by the way!"
"I know!" Of course it did, it probably knew all everything about you. “I am Sun, Sundrop, Sunrise, whatever you would like!"
"It's nice to meet you, Sun." You held up your hand to it--..him? You settled on ‘him’, ‘it’ feeling too... weird. You held up your hand to him for a handshake and he seemed surprised by that. You were also surprised when he stepped back nervously and his hands played with the ribbons around his wrists.
"Oh no no! It's against the rules to touch the staff!" He looked down at your hand like it held some kind of virus for a second before looking back up to your confused face. With a slight awkward smile the hand in front of you went to your collar to play with the fabric there.
"Really? Well... I don't really mind it." You actually hated the unwanted touch but that wasn’t the topic. "It's just a handshake anyway." When he seemed unconvinced you shrugged and smiled, trying to look a bit more friendly.
"We are friends, right? And why would the rules define what you do with me?.. Unless you feel uncomfortable." Why are you even bothering? You had no idea but you actually wanted to make him comfortable. He seemed… nice. And actually a bit shy ironically enough. Or maybe he was just not used to this. You didn't want to make him feel nervous, he acted too human and it made you feel… bad. Gosh.
"Friend?" Sun immediately perked up to that, the rays around his head spinning for a moment before slowing down. His hands were also no longer fiddling but kinda twitching in the air like he... did want to hold you but was holding back. "We are friends??"
The happiness in his voice made you smile.
"Yup." You lifted your hand for a shake again, more confident this time, and he let out an excited gasp. Both of his hands didn’t let yours wait for so long as he shook it excitedly. You laughed at how tight his grip was and how big his hands were, funnily making your own hand disappear between the two of his so easily.
You decided you liked Sun. Maybe a bit too much. I mean, how could you not?
