Love Bites

Summary:

Is a zombie apocalypse the right moment to catch feelings for somebody?

He doesn't fucking know, and he doesn't wanna know. But want he wants to know, did he have to catch feelings for someone so weird?

Notes:

I just did this cause I just really like Gwi-Nam, is he the worst person alive? Yes, but if you ask me he looked fine as fuck while doing so.
He was just too cute at times to not give him some love and affection so, here you go.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

He didn't know how it all ended up like this.

It was fast, too fast for his poor brain to try to process everything that was happening.

It was a perfectly normal launch break. He was eating, alone as always he did in the two months since he had transferred to this school. He had tried his best to befriend some people, but unfortunately, he didn't succeed.

He was a pretty tall guy, a good amount of muscles on him, and although he liked to think he was fairly attractive, his face features made him quite intimidating.

He wasn't the most approachable guy overall, and as much as he wanted to brush it off, it took a blow to his persona.

He wasn't intimidating at all, he liked to think. He liked being around people, he was clumsy at times, he liked to always joke around and he always energetic.

He actually didn't like being alone at all, hell- he had a seal plushy he cuddled with a night.

Of course, that didn't mean he would let people walk all over him. The environment in which he grew up in didn't let those type of people live that well. He was the first one to jump in an argument, and he definitely liked a good street fight every now and then, but even then, it was mostly with shitty and rude people who he knew he wouldn't feel bad about later on.

Point is, he just didn't understand how he could be intimidating.

Then again, something else happened that he guessed might have helped fuel this belief.

He may or may not have gotten into a couple fight, just in the span of his first week.

But again, it wasn't his fault!

The two guys he fought, from what he could understand were part of the known group of bullies in the school. It just happened that when they decided to torment one of their poor victims, Minjun was passing by.

And as much as he liked getting along with everyone, he liked a good fight.

But still, he did it to protect others, and everybody would understand if they just talked to him.

But it would have came with time, until that option too became impossible.

One minute it was chuckles, gossiping chaotic but joyful murmuring, the next, there was a scream.

A single, ear piercing scream, that soon turned into a heart stopping shouting.

By then, like everyone else, he had started panicking. Hands itching, mouth drying up, droplets of sweat dripping down his neck.

Everybody was silent for a bit, all of the eyes set on the gruesome sight of a seemingly crazed student taking bites out of a poor girl, as she shouted shouted out for help.

But yet, nobody moved. All of them were as still as a rock.

The student on top of the girl, got up, snarling, rumbling and screaming.

And soon after, other countless shouts ringed off.

Shouts of pain, terror and confusion tore through the whole building, as he couldn't do anything but stare, as a ocean of blood overtook the bright pavements and walls, as bodies on bodies piled up.

He stood there, almost numb, blood splatting everywhere, staining him from head to toe, people bumping into him as they ran from the blood-thirsty students.

He wanted to move, he needed to move if he didn't want to end up as- whatever the hell those were.

If this playing out in a movie he wouldn't have thought twice about calling them zombies, but fuck-

This wasn't a movie, this was real life.

The feeling of needing to fucking move only amplified when he saw one student charge at him.

Minjun gulped down, adrenaline pumping in him when he finally stepped back.

It was getting closer and closer, and he was walking backwards, until he hit one of the tables.

His hands grasped one of the metal trails, fingers almost digging in it.

The crazed guy was almost on him, and he could almost smell the rancid smell of blood.

He grasped the trail, and the guy's mouth was almost on him, before he swung the improvised weapon with all his might.

Blood splatted on his blank face, as the guy went flying across the table.

I moved, i did it.

He looked at the bloody trail in his hand, feeling slightly nauseous, understandably considering the fact that he possibly smashed another human's head in.

He snapped out of it just in time to hit another one, barely escaping getting killed.

Calm down, you can do this. You can do this. Breathe-

He exhaled, trying to be as calm as one could be in a situation like this.

He needed to get out, the seemingly sane people were becoming less and less, and he didn't want to follow them.

He started scanning the room for an exit, immediately excluding the main entrance.

He swiftly dodged another guy throwing himself at him, the years of soccer finally coming in handy, as he dodged and stepped away from the attack without a scratch.

As he blocked the guy from taking a chunk out of his neck, his eyes traveled to the windows, disappointment filling him as he watched a pile of the 'zombies' under the only open one.

Just my type of luck.

He pushed the zombie in front of him to the ground, bringing down his foot on his face, smashing into the ground.

And he would have lied by saying he didn't almost throw up.

Hearing a grunt behind him, he swung the trail, only for the zombie he hit to cling onto it, swinging its arms in attempt to get to him. If that wasn't enough, the zombie on the ground got up again, screaming and alerting other two.

In less than a second, they started runnin, directly at him.

"Oh, fuck."

In a swift movement, he dragged the zombie attached to him around, just in time to throw him one of the three zombies, making them stumble.

That gave just the enough time to run.

Where was he running to? He had no idea.

He had only been there for two months, and he unfortunately didn't spend them memorizing every place in the goddamn school.

But, as he jumped over a table, his eyes snapped towards the kitchen, the door to it being wide open.

It wasn't the best option, but-, better than nothing.

He started sprinting, barely dodging the flapping arm of a zombie. His heavy steps gained the attention of several of the zombies, only urging him to run faster.

He passed through the door, immediately slamming it behind him, throwing his body against the door.

"Back up- you rotting piece of shit-"

At the angry shout, Minjun's head snapped at his right.

A student, a normal one, was blocked on the ground, trying to pry off of him a zombie. A rather vicious one, as he snapped his teeth and swung his arms at the boy.

And from what it looked like, in a minute the zombie would get the best of him.

His eyes immediately looked for something to hold the door closed, eyes snapping immediately onto one of the big metal counters.

He looked behind him, the zombies had still to get to door.

Taking a breath, he went for it.

Leaping, his hands immediately grabbed the handle of the counter, turning it around without much problem.

His eyes snapped up, locking with one of the vacant pair of a zombie. With one last push, he slammed it against the door and at the same time, the bodies of the zombies came smashing on the other side.

Not giving much thought, he turned back to the boy.

He ran straight to them, only regretting not having a plan when his hands were already on the shirt of the
zombie, getting it off the boy.

The trashing around of the zombie knocked him back, grunting in pain as his hip bumped against a counter.

Brushing it off, he steadied the zombie's head, wrapping his arm around the neck.

He huffed and grunted as he took several hits from the zombie's frantic arms, but he didn't pay mind to it.

Instead his mind focused on the kitchen knife right behind him, as he leaned his hand to grab it. However, another hand beat him to the punch.

The guy on the ground had gotten up fairly quickly, and now he was standing right before him, swinging the knife right into the zombie's throat, making blood spurt out of it soaking Minjun's left cheek in blood.

The zombie in his arms went almost limp, only twitching from time to time.

He let the body fall to the ground, he let out a sigh of relief as he leaned on the counter, trying to catch his breath.

He took a look at the guy, almost flinching when he saw that the other pair of eyes were already on him.

"Are- are you okay?", Minjun said, still out of breath.

He tried offering a little smile, which was answered only by a faint nod from the guy.

"Alright, then let's find a way out."

Minjun said, patting the other's shoulder.

He stepped forward only for tow arms leaning onto the counter, successfully trapping him in.

Minjun slightly pulled back, a little lost and confused by the guy's action.

The feeling amplified when he saw him slowly lean towards his face, sharp eyes almost seemed to inspecting him.

"Dude, what-"

"You look really familiar," the guy said, still inspecting his name, "What's your name?"

Minjun blinked, confused.

"Minjun?", the name came out as more of a question, still confused on what the other dude was on about.

"Minjun... Minjun", the guy pondered, eyes squinting, and Minjun could only watch as the other guy thought about whatever he was trying to get at.

And then, the other guy's eyes widened, slowly trailing to Minjun's face. A smirk took over the guy's face, making him even more unsettling than he already was.

"Ah, i know. You're the one who beat up my friends, right?"

Minjun's brain stopped working for a second, before it slowly began processing what was going on.

His eyes widened when he finally could recognize who the guy in front of him was.

He had seen a couple of times with the group of bullies he fought, when they used to
stroll around.

He was pretty sure his name was Gwi-Nam.

He never paid much attention to him, as he wasn't always present with the other bullies, and he overall wasn't involved in most of the bullying the had going on.

Also because Gwi-Nam's whole group were all at the last year of high school, making them all older than him.

One thing he heard about him was of the terrific fighting skills he had, but Minjun (fortunately) never had the chance to verify it on his own.

Hell, he never even made eye contact with the other guy.

He only looked at him from a far. And that was because of an entirely different reason.

Minjun had never had a problem with embracing his interest in both genders.

He liked what he liked, and although he liked to think he didn't have a specific type with both genders, the boy in front of him was a perfect representation on what he liked about guys.

Gwi-nam was tall, had a good build, he was pretty in a really masculine type of way, and he was kind of a 'streets' guy.

He really didn't want to like him, given the type of things he did, but it happened either way.

He just didn't thing he would end up in a situation like this.

But still, Minjun wasn't the type of guy to let some mild attraction get the best of him. And he'll be dammed if he let a bastard like Gwi-Nam intimidating him, no matter how hot he was.

The straightened himself up, going  eye to eye with Gwi-Nam, the other slightly looking down on him, with the couple of inches he had on Minjun.

"I am, so what?", he stated, a nonchalant tone to his voice.

The taller's eyes slightly widened, before a what seemed and irritated smirk took over his face.

"You know, you have some balls saying that to me", Gwi-Nam whispered, a cold tone to his voice," I should really, really teach you a lesson about fucking around with me."

Is this really what he's worrying about now?

A fist came to clutch at Minjun's shirt, unbuttoning the first few buttons.

Minjun immediately reacted, grabbing Gwi-Nam's wrist, squeezing it hard in between his fingers.

Minjun tilted his head, "See how far you'll get before i shove that knife up your ass."

The taller stared at him for a second, an unreadable look in his eyes that did nothing but confuse Minjun even more. Gwi-Nam eventually let out a laugh, before detaching his eyes from Minjun's face, roaming over his entire body

It made Minjun feel funny.

"You crazy bastard-"

Before Gwi-Nam could finish his sentence, a resounding noise of metal crashing ringed off in the room.

The taller instantly backed up, on high alert, Minjun's head snapping towards the sound.

The metal counters had budged forward, not giving much of a fight to the countless zombies banging on the door, trying to get in.

"Fucking hell-"

Minjun's sentence was cut, as he felt a hand wrap around his wrist, before he was dragged away.

Gwi-Nam dragged him towards the back of the kitchen, and Minjun faintly heard the metal counter fall to the ground, the growling of the zombies getting louder as Gwi-Nam bust his way through a door.

Gwi-Nam threw his body against the door, blocking it.

Minjun was left to look around, for whatever route they could use to escape. The area was simply were the dumpster for the kitchen were, so it was completely closed.

Then, his eyes fell on the window sitting a few feet right above the door.

If only the had a way to get up there-

Minjun's attention immediately snapped towards one of the dumpster.

Lightly smiling in satisfaction for his quick thinking, he grasped the handlebar of the dumpster, immediately pushing it towards the door. The dumpster wasn't small and it definitely wasn't light, but he got it moving pretty quickly.

"Move out the way!", he shouted.

As soon as he saw Gwi-Nam jump out of the way, he slammed it against the door.

He sat back, catching his breath, "We can climb through the window if we jump on top of the dumpster."

Gwi-Nam faintly nodded, immediately  followed by the sudden banging on the door. Growling and shrieking could be heard from the other side.

"We need to do it, now."

Minjun hopped on the dumpster, immediately followed by the other.

He raised his head, taking in how far still the window was from the ground.

He jumped, kicking his foot off the wall to give himself more height, bit it still wasn't enough.

"Fuck, it's too far up", Gwi-Nam grumbled.

The both wobbled on their feet, as the banging on the door was getting stronger and louder by the second.

"Come on, i'll boost you up", the taller said, crouching down in front of him.

"W-wait, are you sure? I'm not exactly light-", Minjun stated, unsure if that would work out.

"And i'm not weak, you're nothing i can't handle", the older said, an irritating smirk blooming on his face.

"Arrogant asshole", Minjun whispered, giving him an unimpressed look.

He stepped forward, Gwi-Nam making a solid base for his foot with his hands. He licked his lips, and he went.

He set one firm foot in the hands of Gwi-Nam, launching himself off the dumpster.

And when he felt the force of the other, pushing him up, he was almost impressed.

He gripped the window pane with his hands, feet kicking off the wall to help him climb up.

He finally got through the window, his heart almost stopping as he heard the horrendous crashing of metal, followed by a shout from Gwi-Nam.

"Gwi-Nam?!"

He threw his head outside the window, where he could clearly see the bloody hands of a couple zombies clawing at the boy's ankle.

"Grab my hand!", he shouted, stretching his arm as far as he could without falling down.

He saw the other yell curse at the zombies, stomping down wildly on their hands, in an attempt to free himself.

"Gwi-Nam! Move, you jackass!"

His shouting finally got to him. Minjun watched as the other boy followed his way, kicking his foot of the wall to reach higher.

At that point Minjun thanked his impeccable timing, grabbing Gwi-Nam's wrist just as the other reached with his hand.

He felt the fingers of the other's hand wrap around his wrist, and he pulled, and pulled until he got him up to the window, dragging him through.

Minjun let go of the other, both of them falling to the ground.

They stayed like that for a couple of minutes, just catching their breath, Minjun enjoying the little bit of peace he had in a while.

"Yah, how- how do you know my name?", Gwi-Nam asked, still a bit out of breath.

And Minjun would have started punching him, for disturbing his little peaceful moment, if he wasn't so confused by the question.

"What the hell are you talking about?"

He heard shuffling, and from under his eyes he could see the other sitting up.

"You said my name, but i never gave it to you", the other stated, "How do you know it?"

With that Minjun finally realized his mistake.

He groaned, sitting up.

He really didn't need Gwi-Nam's ego to get even bigger.

He looked at the older, but he was already to late, as he looked at the usual irritating smirk that Gwi-Nam seemed to have as default.

"What, you asked about me, mhm?"

Minjun shot him a bored look, "Don't flatter yourself, everybody in the school knows you and your little group."

"I know, i know. I'm pretty popular, i mean- how could i not be-"

"I guarantee you, not thing that is said about is positive, not one," Minjun chuckled, enjoying the way Gwi-Nam face scrunched up.

"Like what?"

"Mhm, where do i start-", Minjun said, a dramatic thinking expression on his face.

"You- nevermind, shut up."

He saw the way Gwi-Nam seemed to mock him, almost in a childlike manner, only to set in a pout, sulking and it was... it was strangely cute?

No, fuck no. Absolutely not cute. He is the opposite. Get you shit together, Minjun.

He lightly shook his head, sitting up on his elbows, dragging a hand down his face.

He honestly didn't know what kept him to just throw himself into a pile of zombies and end it all, just to finally escape this fuck ass situation he was in.

But he wouldn't, he couldn't. That was cowardly shit, and he'll be damned if he let a couple of walking corpses get the best of him.

Plus, he wasn't completely alone.

Of course, Gwi-Nam wasn't the best of company, but the guy could obviously old his own.

And he could honestly use someone like him.

That reminds him...

"I just want to say... thank you- uhm," he stated, suddenly shy. He usually was good with words, but today just wasn't the best of day for a lot of things.

"For what?", the other said, sending him a seemingly bored look, but Minjun could still see the curiosity in his eyes.

"You know, you could have left me there instead of taking me with you. I don't know shit about this school so I would've been good as dead so, thank you."

He finished speaking, and he saw the way Gwi-Nam tounge peek out, licking his lips. He looked down, almost in a shy way.

"It's- it's fine, whatever. It's not like i'm some heartless asshole."

And at the quiet statement, Minjun felt a tiny bit bad. The things he had heard about the guy weren't a lot in comparison to the other guys in the group but- It was still bad, wrong.

But to hear the same guy say such simple words, for some reason sparked something in Minjun.

He didn't know what it was, and he honestly didn't know if he wanted to know, but...

At the very least, he knew that they had a chance at making it out of here.

He had to try.

He had to make it.
