Squeak
Jeongguk thinks it must've been his third time sighing so deeply because of a constant distraction in form of one pet Doberman, named Bam.
He was lounging on their crimson couch, a pillow on his chest while he rested his phone on the pillow, scrolling through social media and checking the news of his favorite k-drama casts.
Squeak
Squeak
But apparently, his dog had other plans. And letting jeongguk enjoy his day off was certainly not one of them. Jeongguk rubbed his palm over his face as he groaned frustratedly and put his phone aside.
"Fine, fine. You win." He raised his hands in surrender as he stood up to see what's wrong with his dog. "What has made you so angry that you're letting it all out on the poor toy, hm?" He kneeled down in front of Bam, and wiggled the bone shaped toy out of his mouth, all the while petting his head in a soothing manner.
The toy made a long squeaky sound as it was getting freed of the dog's firm grip, and jeongguk was almost sure the voice is gonna hunt his dreams for a few days.
Can I bury it somewhere deep and pretend it never existed?
He tossed the toy aside and began rubbing the back of his pet's ears. Seeming to find the peace he'd been looking for, bam lazily rested his head on Jeongguk’s crossed legs. "What's gotten to you? Should I take you to a vet?" Jeongguk asked worriedly, as if he was getting any answer.
The curtains were swaying slowly to the rhythm of the summer breeze, and beams of the setting sunlight were leaving a golden imprint on the cream wall. Jeongguk leaned back on both of his hands, shook his head slightly in order to brush off his brown locks out of his eyes.
He glanced towards the clock.
7:20
"Maybe we can go and take a walk in the park. How do you like that buddy?"
At that, the Doberman raised his head abruptly and rolled his tongue out of his mouth, panting excitedly at the sudden suggestion, which made jeongguk snicker.
"Should've figured this was your plan all along. You trickster." He stood up, and headed towards their bedroom, and began rummaging through the closet to find a comfortable outfit for their stroll in the park.
Just as he was taking off his shirt, he heard the familiar rattle of the keys opening the door. And two seconds later he also heard the excited barks of bam and a welcoming voice coming through the hall.
"Hey buddy. How was your day, hm?"
"Ah, don't spoil him too much. He was a menace the whole day." Jeongguk leaned on the doorframe, as he watched his boyfriend rubbing his pet's belly. Then added, "hey baby."
"Hello to you, too." Jimin smiled sweetly, but as his eyes fell on Jeongguk’s naked torso, he let out a whistle and wiggled his eyebrows suggestively. "To what do I owe the pleasure of seeing my boyfriend's perfectly sculptured abs?"
Jeongguk rolled his eyes as he walked towards Jimin and wrapped him in his arms. He planted a kiss on the corner of his mouth and said, "I don't know." A few more kissed trailing down the boy's neck. "Might have something to do with the fact that you're being rewarded for being a beautiful angel."
"Shut. Up." Jimin laughed as he was pressed to Jeongguk’s chest, his hands roaming around the boy's waist. He kissed the middle of Jeongguk’s chest, up to the corner of his jaw.
And jeongguk happily led those kisses towards his lips. Nibbling on those pair of plush lips as if he hadn't memorized their taste on his tongue thousand times before.
Things might've escalated quickly, had it not been for bam to suddenly bark and rip the two men out of their messy make out session.
"Right, right. okay." Jimin laughed breathlessly as he reluctantly detached his lips away from jeongguk. "No PDA in front of grumpy Dobermans."
Jeongguk could only glare at his dog, and settle for nestling his face in the crook of Jimin’s neck.
He can be a clingy baby from time to time. Give him a break.
"Were you headed off to somewhere?"
"Ugh, right. I was supposed to take this ungrateful brat to the park." Jeongguk said as he removed himself from Jimin’s embrace. "Figured he might need some other entertainment than chewing the hell out of his toys."
"Right. That's cool." Jimin said as he went for the fridge to pour some water.
"You wanna join us?"
Jimin shook his head as he gulped down his water in one go. "I don't think I have the energy to run after this guy."
Jeongguk grinned and shrugged. "As you wish."
"Oh. We don't have ramyeon?" Jimin said as he was searching through the cupboards.
Jeongguk scratched the back of his neck sheepishly, "I might've gotten hungry and ate the last cup."
"And here I thought my boyfriend of one year will ever have his stomach filled."
"Fine. Fine. I'll get some on my way."
"Well, you better." Jimin cocked his hip to a side, "or else there would be no dinner for you, muscle guy."
At that Jeongguk’s lips curled into a suggestive smile, making Jimin groan.
"No, no, no. Don't say that. Don't say-"
"Well honey you know I always have other things besides ramyeon to eat"
"ewww." Jimin gagged dramatically, "get out of my face you pervert." He tried to throw a towel at the boy's face, but embarrassingly failed to do so.
Jeongguk cackled loudly as he headed to the room, "I love you too, sweetheart."
He finally put a shirt back on, a black oversized short-sleeved with white strips on it. His phone and Bam's leash in one hand. He swiftly kissed Jimin on the cheek (earning an annoyed groan from him) and stepped outside the house with his dog following him eagerly.
It was a 10-minute walk towards the neighborhood's park. Which wasn't that much of a wide area, but still had the green space necessary enough for bam to jump around and play as much as he pleased. So, the moment he was freed from the leash, he ran off excitedly towards the trees nearby. Running, jumping and barking around every single tree as if it was his first time seeing them.
As a result of Bam's contagious happiness, jeongguk began playing around with his pet dog, as well. He mimicked Bam’s barking as if he was having a very serious conversation in dog's language.
And if he attracted some curious glances towards himself, that was something he couldn't care less about.
It took a while before he finally felt drained of any energy to play along with his dog. So, with one last pat on the Doberman’s head, he went to sit on a bench close by and watched contentedly as his dog was still happily rolling on the ground.
"Ugh, I'm already tired." Jeongguk groaned as he rolled his head backwards, a few joints cracking as a result. He fished out for his phone and started playing an arcade game just to kill time.
Jimin would always find it funny how jeongguk is able to give all his attention to a game where he is on a run from a bunch of assassins and also play candy crush with the same passion.
So, it didn't come as a surprise as he got himself submerged in trying to put five purple candies in a row so he could get an extra boost to win the challenge.
Just as he won the 157th level, he threw up his hands in triumph, whisper shouted "YES!!", and looked up to celebrate his victory with Bam.
what came as a surprise though was that there was no sign of his gleeful dog anymore. He gulped nervously as he scrambled to his feet and began shouting his dog's name. "BAMIE?! WHERE DID YOU GO??"
Jeongguk jogged towards the other side of the park, eyes scanning for a sign of the lost pet. As seconds passed by, he felt his anxiety bubble up in his chest more and more, until he felt breathless at the thought of having lost his dog forever.
"BAM!!!"
He was about to run out of the park to check if bam had run off to street. But suddenly, he felt something brown moving past him very swiftly from the corner of his eyes. Turning around, he found out it indeed was Bam, still running energetically as if he hadn't been doing so for the past 30 minutes.
Jeongguk sprinted on his feet to chase after him, an annoyed scolding on the tip of his tongue.
It didn't take him long to realize there seemed to be something very off with the whole situation. He trailed off just when bam came to a stop near two very tall pine trees, seemingly excited at the sight of nothingness in between the trees.
Jeongguk came to stand beside him, eyeing the dog warily, as if something had possessed him. Then, turned his eyes towards the direction Bam was very engrossed in.
At first sight, jeongguk didn't know where exactly should he look at. He wondered if it was another dog that had stolen Bam's attention or some kind of eye-catching toy that Bam always loved.
But just as he squinted his eyes, jeongguk realized he doesn't have to look too far to find the source of this strange behavior. Because just a few inches away from the tip of his nose, he caught a slight disorientation in the space in between the trees, the edges of everything nearby seemed to be fizzling and swaying.
Very slightly, in a way that hardly anyone would notice at a second glance.
However, the more jeongguk looked into that warping space, the more he became entranced by it. As if he was being hypnotized. Just when he thought he was about to lose his mind, his eyes spotted the outline of an opaque human.
Jeongguk tried to focus his eyes on the human's face.
Big, round brown eyes
Black hair parted in the middle, long enough to fall into the human's doe eyes
A sharp and defined jawline
Thin lips with a sharp cupid's bow and a mole underneath
A mole ...
Underneath the lips ...
Had he had the time to process everything, he probably might've screamed his head off. but just seconds before doing so, he was suddenly being pulled by a magnetic force into the swirling space (which we may now call it a portal) in between the trees.
To him, it felt as though he was having an out of body experience. Like all the cells in his body were vibrating with an uncontrollable energy force. But just when he felt his body might actually not survive the sheer amount of electricity running through him, he was suddenly knocked unconscious. And everything was a total blackness from then.

"Did we kill him?" Jeongguk frowned at the throbbing pain in his head, "oh shit, his waking up"
He wanted to will the man to shut up, because even the faintest sound seemed to worsen his headache. He really shouldn't have drunk that much in the party yesterday.
Jimin did warn him about the hangover.
Stupid party and its stupid drinks
Stupid party
Stupid … Party?
Jeongguk opened his eyes abruptly, feeling as if his breath was punched out of his gut. He sat up straight, and immediately regretting it as he winced from the sharp pain that he felt in his whole body.
He knew he must’ve hit his head somewhere as there was unclear memories of what had actually happened to him. He just knew he was looking at some kind of magical mirror shit, because the last thing he remembered was seeing himself and getting pulled into some vortex.
Either that, or he was high on some kind of shitty drugs he didn’t remember ever taking.
He squinted his eyes trying to understand why there was so much fucking sunlight. Then he saw two people coming to his vision. Everything was still so blurry as he traced the outline of the first man's face.
Sharp almond eyes, square jaw and thin lips.
The man was staring back at him, equally in awe. He mumbled a quiet curse under his breath and moved to stand next to the other man who had his face hidden behind a silk mask. “it’s like he’s the other twin you never knew existed.”
“Shut up, Taehyung.” The mysterious man neared Jeongguk, who was crawling backwards trying to put as much space between the two of them. Heedless to Jeongguk’s obvious discomfort, the man kneeled in front of him.
“Hey, Jeongguk.” He said, taking his mask off. And Jeongguk felt awfully faint at the sight of the man who mirrored his face so flawlessly.
As if he was the other twin he never knew existed.
“I believe you don’t need much introduction about yourself, do you?”
