Chapter Text
The sun was shining down on us as Billy ran up from the water, sand kicking up behind him as his surfboard dragged behind him. His smile was big and his blue eyes were happy his hair was soaked and he shook his head making water spray everywhere, I shrieked with laughter as the cold water hit my skin. “What was that!” I shouted laughing as he pulled me into his arms, “you looked a little overheated.” He said teasing me as his cold hand touched my stomach making me jump a little.
I hummed as he hugged me and lifted me ever so gently, “I’m going to miss this.” he said softly as I looked up at him with a confused look, “what do you mean Billy.” I whispered as suddenly thunder and grey skies covered our California beach. I pulled out his arms as Lightning struck behind him hitting the water. “I’m going to miss us, this peace that I wish we could stay in but it’s time to wake up Y/N. this dream isn’t real, it stopped being real the second that they got married,” He said as he then pushed me to the ground and I fell into a pit of darkness.
—--------------------------------------------------------------
I jumped awake and held my chest as I blinked rapidly in the darkness, I was shaking as my eyes managed to adjust and showed Max’s and I’s room. I felt Max adjust in the bed and move closer to my pillow, she looked so peaceful that I got up slowly and pulled the blankets up and over her shoulders as I grabbed an old hoodie and walked into the cold kitchen seeing the clock say it was a little past three am. Walking over to the sink I nabbed a cup from the cupboard to fill with some cold water and ease my mind from the once sweet dream turned nightmare, I heard a creak and whipped my head around to see an exhausted Billy. “What are you doing up,” I asked softly as He walked up to grab a beer from the fridge “same as you I'm sure” he reasoned his hand gripping the top of the fridge rather tightly.
“I had a nightmare, it was about Cali,” I said as he leaned against the counter next to me. He looked like Neil had been running him ragged and had been getting little to no sleep. “I could go to hell and still not be in more pain than I am currently” he whispered as I nodded finishing my glass of water as he finished his beer. “I’m sorry about how we left things in Cali, It shouldn't have happened like that and I feel like crap that I did that to you,” He said as I nodded. “So which part are you apologizing for?” I asked staring at him as he stood up and looked at me, my body relaxed as I was starting to get sleepy again.
“All of it, I was pissed because it was another thing that he found out about and then took away and is taunting me with, you know on the drive over he kept saying about how this was going to a fresh start and that I needed to keep my eyes on you two.” He said as his arms shook, “It’s killing me to have you so close and not be able to hug and kiss you.” I said as he grabbed my hand and held it for a minute, “I want us to leave with Max as soon as we can.” I said looking at him and he nodded with that stone expression of his.
“Go get some sleep Y/N, your going to need it for later today,” He said kissing my temple as I walked back to my bedroom and found Max laying against the wall, my pillow was left next to her as I walked back over and slid into bed want ing to sleep just a little more.
—------------------------------
The alarm went off three hours later waking me from a dreamless sleep. I grabbed my black tank top and slid it on before grabbing a hairbrush, quickly managing the nest that my hair became. Max was brushing her hair as well and grabbing her skateboard shoes as I knocked on the bathroom door hearing Billy’s brand of music coming from it. “Billy, Hurry up I need to use it!” I said before throwing in some eggos into our newer toaster and setting it on medium, running down to grab my bag and Max’s from our closest with all new books in them.
Billy got out just as I was passing him to rush in and get some of my hair products to help with my curls, He went to the kitchen to nab some of the food and passed the open bathroom door as I was putting some makeup and perfume. “What’s all that for?” he said crossing his arms, I turned to him with my bandana being used as a headband.
“What is it a crime to look good for school now?” I said with a raised eyebrow and applied some lip gloss in the mirror. “It is when I know that no one is going to be able to take their eyes off of you, Now go change.” He said as he got closer and his voice got a little growly, My lower half got warm as I looked up at him with confidence. “No, I’m not going to change now get out of my way or you're going to be limping out to the car,” I said as his eyes lit up before he moved back leaving me enough room to brush past him, Max was getting changed as I walked in and held my hand out to block the sight and turned to look through the t-shirts I had to go over my tank top.
I found a plain black shirt with a v neckline, and a few rips on the shoulders and the sides but with the tank top you couldn’t see any skin. I handed max her bag as she grabbed her skateboard, waving as she walked out and rode towards the school. I was grabbing my bag as I stole one of Billy’s waffles out of his hand making him stop and look at his hand in mourning of the loss, He looked up at me with his eyes looking dark as I took a large bite of the waffle. “Are you fucking kidding me!” He yelled and then walked back to grab another waffle, glaring at me as I took another bit of the stolen waffle. “Fucking brat” he muttered as I got into the passenger seat of his car, I grinned as he pulled out and swung his arm to sit behind my head as he did so and pulled back to turn down the street where the school was.
I was staring out the window as he drove down the street and his hand reaching down to turn up his music, His face sliding perfectly into that high school asshat with a temper bigger than L.A. mask. I took a few deep breaths and grabbed my bag as Billy got out and slammed his door shut, I could already feel the stares and rolled my eyes hearing a few girls giggle at the sight of Billy. I got out and closed the passenger door before groaning, remembering my house keys were still in it, and leaned through the window to grab them. “Meet you here after classes,” Billy said looking to the school as I was looking for my schedule. “Uh yeah sure,” I said and walked away from him leaving him to look at me for a moment and head to the office for his schedule.
And with that, it was the Start downhill of Hell for all three of us but it wasn’t like we knew that yet but we'd find out soon enough.
