It is a sunny day in ine (伊根町, Ine-chō) is a town located in Yosa District, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. Kakyoin was in his room, getting ready to go to work w/ his father. Kakyoin's father is a fisherman in the small village, he fishes most of the good fishes & sells them to local restaurant owners in other villages. Kakyoin's family isn't rich nor are they poor, they make a living at fishing, selling them & also known for his mother's hot pot stand. His mother owns a small hot pot stand,making hot pot for the villagers & the hard workers of the village. Ine is a beautiful, unique & quiet village; Kakyoin was born & raised in the beautiful village. He loves the village but he wants to look for something more exciting in his life & living in another exciting part of Japan is a thing he wants. Kakyoin has graduated from high school, he has applied for a few colleges in Japan & is patiently waiting for a letter letting him know that he is accepted somewhere. Him working w/ his dad is a summer job for him to save up money,he plans on purchasing a car so he has been very strict on not spending too much of his paycheck.
H(Hana,Kakyoin’s mother):: Noriaki! Honey!
N:Yes?
H:Are you ready to go to work w/ your father?
N:Yes,mom. I'm on my way downstairs!
H: Okay! Your father is waiting outside!
N:Ok,I'm on my way!
Kakyoin grabs his hat & backpack; he goes downstairs, grabbing the bento that his mother had prepared for him,says his goodbyes & goes his way outside. He was waiting for him in their pickup, Kakyoin went over to the car & the two went off to the dock. They both make it to the dock,they get on their boat & get ready to start their day at work. A few hours have passed making it the afternoon,they have gotten a few fishes but not so many to finish off their day. Kakyoin is standing next to the fishing net, waiting for the okay from his dad when it's time to pull up the nets. Kakyoin stares out at the ocean, savoring the beautiful views of the sea & gorgeous blue skies of Ine. That's one of the things he really likes about this village is the beautiful ocean, sometimes working w/ his dad isn't always the worst & he swears he can get lost staring at the sea. After staring he sees a splash farther into the water, a few inches away from his boat. It isn't too far nor too close but he can definitely get a good view of what he is looking at. He kept seeing that one spot splashing, he can't really tell what's making the splashing but he can't get his eyes off of it. It moves a bit more farther,until he sees a man pop out of the water,the man is seen pushing his hair back. Kakyoin raises his eyebrow, wondering why a man is there, especially so far from the houses & near to where they usually fish. He couldn't move his eyes away until the man turned around,making eye contact w/ him & right when their eyes connected; his father called him. Kakyoin wakes up from his distraction, turning to his dad as to what he wants.
K(Kaito,Kakyoin’s dad): Noriaki. What are you? Didn't you hear what I said to you?
N:(shakes his head) No father,I'm sorry. I saw a man swimming out here.
K.:Man? What are you talking about? There is no man here.
N:Yes there is, he's right over… there.
K:Over where? There is nobody out here, Noriaki. No one can swim that far out here,it is dangerous & this is a fishing spot. Are you sure you saw someone out here? Maybe it could've been a dolphin or seal you saw.
N:N-No father. I swear there was a man over there,he came out of the water.
K:I think the summer heat is starting to get to you. How about we have our lunch right now? You may be dehydrated & hungry too.
N: Y-yeah,maybe.
K: We'll go ahead & bring up the fishnets after.
Kakyoin & his father go ahead to have their lunch. He made sure that he was well fed & well hydrated. The last thing he needed was to hallucinate from hunger & dehydration; but he knows that it wasn't any of that for him to see a man out in the water. After lunch,he helped his father bring up the nets, pouring out all of the fish that was caught & going back again to throw out the fishing net. After catching the fish,they go to their customers to sell their fish, they're regulars & always buy from them. When they are finished selling the fish they go straight home, taking a few bunches for his mother's food stall & for them to have for dinner. They make it home, Kakyoin feels so relieved making it back home & he desperately needs a warm bath & his mother's home cooked meals. The three say hello to each other,sharing hugs & kisses; Kakyoin goes to shower b/c the smell of fish is killing him softly. The small family sits down & eats while enjoying a delicious meal.
H:How was work today?
N:It was good,mom.
H:Nori thinks he saw a person swimming near our fishing area.
H:Is that so? But it is way too far & no one can swim around there.
K:Exactly but he insists that there was a man swimming there.
N:It was quite… Strange. It looked like someone was there.
H:You were probably dehydrated & hungry. Sometimes standing out under the sun can make you see things or maybe it was some sea creature swimming around there.
K: Yes, I agree. It must’ve been a seal for all we know.
N:Yeah, y-you’re right,father.
Kakyon went back to eating his meal, he didn’t want to linger too much on the subject b/c his parents already don’t believe him so decided to not talk about it. After dinner, Kakyoin was lying on his futon wondering about who was the mystery man that was in the water. He knows it was not a hallucination from dehydration, he wasn’t even dehydrated himself & he knows that what he saw was very real. All he could think of was how gorgeous the man looked & how memorable his eyes are. They’re a blue color w/ a sea green hue to it which reminds him of the beaches in Hokkaido, he wonders who that mystery man was & if he also is a fellow villager in Ine. But he also remembers that if was a fellow villager, how come he’s never seen him? Or maybe be lives in another village? It’s odd but he wants to know who this person is, now he wonders if he’ll see him again tomorrow or not. Maybe someday he’ll meet him but right now sleep is starting to take over him & needs to rest up for tomorrow. Tomorrow came fast, he was on the boat at the same spot but did not see the mystery man. A few days have passed turning into two weeks, he hasn’t seen that man again. Maybe it was a hallucination but he feels that it wasn’t but what can he do? He's gone to fish at their usual fishing spot including other ones but he hasn’t seen him again. Kakyoin almost feels sad b/c he grew curious over the two weeks,thinking about this person & thinking about if this man is the same age as him. Could he have been a figment of his imagination or was there more to this person,who knows honestly. On a saturday afternoon kakyoin decided to go on a bike ride,he wanted some alone time & needed time for himself. So he grabbed his tote,his bike & went off to his adventures. He first went inside of his local dagashi shop, got himself some snacks & drinks; he went off to go on his bike ride. He rode on his bike for twenty five minutes,taking pictures of wildlife,plants & landscapes. He wanted to take a break,so he went to his usual spot where he goes to eat,relax & get away from everyone. He went to his usual chill spot. Kakyoin went to sit at the edge of the ocean where there are rocks to sit on & take a good view of the sea. It was so quiet & peaceful; he always went there to get away from people,to think,sometimes to take pictures of the view,eat his snacks & enjoy himself. He sat & he sat; taking in the warm,cool breeze & getting a bit of sun. Then all of a sudden he hears a gorgeous but deep voice singing a beautiful melody, it sounds close to him but that voice is distracting him from his thoughts. Kayoin has been going to this spot for a long time & this is the first time he has ever heard anyone sing nearby & he is super curious of who it may be. So, he gets up from where he was sitting & follows the beautiful, magical singing. He walks for two minutes until he makes an abrupt stop, 15 feet away he spots the person singing & it is the mystery man that he has been thinking about. But then he notices that the man doesn’t have legs, no he has a tail. A beautiful aquamarine tail, he also spots a purple star shaped mark on his left shoulder.He can’t tell if it is a tattoo or a birthmark but what an eye catching mark. Kakyoin stands behind a boulder, he peeks out to stare at the breathtakingly beautiful merman, he hears him sing & he is impressed. His voice is the most beautiful singing he has ever heard,more beautiful than a woman’s & if only he can record that magical voice of his. He stares & he stares, boy what a wonderful creature & he desperately wants to talk to him but he’s scared at the same time & he doesn’t want to freak him out either. Boy, Kakyoin is lovestrucked by this majestic creature & he wants to talk to him. Then an interruption makes him wake up from his trance & immediately gets freaked out.
A(Akira):Noriaki,dear. Hello.
N:Oh hello Mrs.Fukumoto & Mrs.Amaya. How are you ladies doing?
E(Emi):We’re doing fine,sweetheart. We were just taking our daily walks as always. What are you doing here?
N:Oh me! Oh I was just uh enjoying the view of the ocean.
A:Really? Well then why are you behind a boulder?
N:B/c uh I was hiding behind it to protect myself from the sun since I forgot my sunscreen & hat.
A:Oh okay then. You need to be more careful when coming out here, being in the sun for too long is really bad. We wouldn’t want you to be sunburned.
N:(nervously chuckles) Yeah I know silly me.
E:Also is your mother’s stand going to be open today?
N:Oh yeah. We got some mackerel so she’ll make her mackerel hot pot.
E:Oh how nice. My son always wants to go get her hot pots for his lunch breaks, which is kinda better for b/c I don’t have to worry about making him lunch most of the time.
N:Yupp, I know. She has told me about Jiro going to her stand almost everyday for her hot pots.
E:Yes,he has been there a lot. How’s work been w/ your father?
N:Pretty good,been keeping me busy a lot.
A:Have you signed up for any colleges now that you’ve graduated school?
N:Uh yes I have. I signed up for a lot in the city, even Hokkaido & Kyoto too.
E:Ooo,how interesting. That must be very exciting for you. Have you gotten any letters yet?
N:No,not yet.
E:Oh they’ll come eventually. Ichiro’s letters took a while to get to him but don’t worry noriaki yours will get here too. You’re a bright & smart young man.
N:Thank you,Mrs.Amaya.
A:Well anyways we’ll be going now,dear. I’m sure you want your alone time.
N:Y-Yeah.
E:It was nice talking to you noriaki. Be careful under the sun & don’t stay out too long.
N:I won’t Mrs.Amaya.
Kakyoin said his goodbyes to the two older women, he feels relieved that he is left now & he can be alone. It’s not like he doesn’t like talking to them, he loves talking to all of the senior citizens but on this particular moment he wants alone time. He rests his back back on the boulder until he remembers about the merman, he slowly peeks out & notices that he has disappeared again. He knew that the moment they started talking to him that it was over, the merman had left yet again & Kakyoin wanted to hear him sing some more. He went back to his spot where he usually hangs out,stayed there for an hour,eating his dagashis & eventually going back home. Before leaving he turns around one more time,before disappearing,feeling discouraged. A few more days have passed by,it is now night, he is lying on his futon thinking about the merman yet again. He thought about how beautiful that enchanting creature is, he couldn’t get his voice nor his looks again. It was almost like he was hypnotized by his beauty & he really wants to find him & meet him. Kakyoin kept going back to the same area but came back home feeling discouraged. He has been trying to find the merman but nothing, he hasn’t even heard his singing & now he feels that he has maybe scared him & the merman has left. Kakyoin laid on his bed wondering about that creature,it was 12 am & he was still wide awake until a familiar singing caught his attention. He got up fast,looking out his window,looking around. The voice is definitely not close by so his only hope was that the creature was at the same spot he saw him a few days ago. Kakyoin grabs his tote,grabs his shoes & starts to tiptoe his way out of the house, He locks his door,grabs his bike & quickly rides his way to the merman. He follows the voice,not paying attention to anything around him,just focusing on the majestic singing & finally just maybe having the opportunity to talk to him. Kakyoin wonders if he can hear his voice,can the others too? Well Mrs. Amaya & Mrs. Fukumoto didn’t mention anything about someone singing & seemed normal. Maybe it is just him who can hear it, his father never spoke about singing out in the ocean but he was told stories about it from his grandfather a few times when he was a kid. Kakyoin finally makes it to his destination, the voice coming from the spot where he found the merman. He feels very nervous but excited for the first time. He always wanted to meet a mermaid or merman,but he was always told that they’re not real or it is just folklore but this proves that legends aren’t always legends. Kakyoin peeks over & he was right; the merman was sitting on the same rock,singing & looking glorious as ever. The redhead watches him sing a beautiful song,the merman’s eyes are closed,looking very focused on getting every note right & boy did he get them all right. His voice was not too high nor too deep, it was just right & it was quite sultry. Kakyoin stands there listening,almost feeling like a gravitational pull was pulling him towards the merman & it seemed like he was destined to hear it. Kakyoin steps on a twig,making a loud crunchy sound,stopping the sea creature from singing,making him jump back into the water. Kakyoin freaked out,running towards the water,apologizing many times.
N:Oh god, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you,please come back.
All Noriaki could hear was the sounds of the water hitting against the rocks & the crickets chirping.
N:Please don’t go, you sing very beautifully & I want to hear more. I’ve been looking for you for a while & I want to meet you.
Kakyoin waits, he gets sad,feeling that he has done something very wrong & now the merman is probably gone; maybe even forever. Kakyoin gets up,walking towards his bike until a deep but sultry voice talks to him.
J:You… Heard my singing?
N:(turns around) Yes. Yes I did.
J:Are you sure?
N:Yes. If I wasn’t I wouldn’t have snuck out of my house to look for you.
J:No ones ever heard my singing around here before.
N:Really? Well I must be lucky then.
J:Maybe.
The two stare at each other for a few seconds,Kakyoin clears his throat,wanting to make some sort of small talk w/ the creature.
N:Is it okay if I sit close to you?
J:I don’t know? I’ve never really… Spoken nor met a human before.
N:Well if you’d want. I can leave if you’d like?
The merman stared at the shy redhead,he looked at him from head to toe. The redhead seemed very adorable to him w/ his shy demeanor. He feels that the redhead is harmless but he’ll keep his guard up.
J:Sure But not too close, don’t get too comfortable.
N:(nods) Thank you.
J:Yeah.
Kakyoin sits a foot or two away from the merman, he wants to make the merman as comfortable as possible. There was a moment of silence for a few seconds until Kakyoin decided to break the silence.
N:So, what’s your name?
J:Jotaro.
N:Oh, that’s a very nice name.
J:Thanks.
N:Umm how old are you?
J:18
N:Me too. Uh, my name is Noriaki.
J:Nice name.
N:Oh, thank you. Um, where are you from?
J:Here.
N:Me too. Well except for that I was born on land.
J:Uh huh.
N:Have you always been a merman?
Jotaro stares back at the redhead w/ annoyed face from that question, he knows the redhead is trying to have a conversation w/ him but this question was just plain old stupid to him.
J:Uh duh.
N:I’m sorry I’m just not good at making conversations nor keeping them.
J:I can tell b/c that was a dumb question you just asked me.
N:I know & I acknowledge it to being very stupid.
J:Look let’s cut to the chase, why are you really here?
N:I told you, it’s b/c I heard your singing.
J:You also said earlier that you’d been looking for me.
N:Why yes I-
J:So why? are? You? Here?
N:(sighs) B/c I spotted you a few weeks ago when I was working on my father’s fishing boat. Ever since then I’ve been wanting to meet you & I have been so curious about you too.
J:Hmm, is that so?
N:Yes of course. What do you not believe me?
J:It’s not that I don’t believe you, it's that, it’s just odd that you heard my singing.
N:(nodded) I did & it was very beautiful at that.
J:Thank you. (blushes) No one’s ever told me that before.
N:Well guess I'm the first lucky one to tell you that.
J:Guess so.
N:That’s cool cause then we wouldn’t have met.
J:(nods)
N:So tell me about yourself Jotaro.
J:There’s not much to say…
N:I bet there is. Well I know we just met but there must be something.
J:(stares at Kakyoin annoyed)
N:Uh well you don’t have to tell me anything about yourself if you don’t want to. It’s up to you,I don’t mind honestly.
J:Ok.
N:Can I tell you about myself? You can just sit there & listen if you’d like.
J:Fine.
Kakyoin started to talk about himself to the merman, he talked about what he liked,his dislikes,his childhood,his favorite color,favorite band,his hobbies,etc. Jotaro nodded while listening to the redheaded human, he sees how enthusiastic he is while talking about things he likes especially w/ a game called F-Mega which sounds super odd to him. But whatevers he lets him talk, they stay there for about an hour till Kakyoin looks at his wrist watch & notices the time.
N:Oh! Boy, it is very late. I gotta go, I am getting sleepy to be honest w/ you.
J:Yeah.
N:Um, do you normally stay up late?
J:Yes, when I can’t sleep & when I want to practice my singing.
N:Oh well, you should definitely sing more of that beautiful song. I really like it & it’s soothing to me.
J:Really?
N:(nods) yes. If you don’t mind, can I meet you here again tomorrow? Around the same time? If you want.
Jotaro sighs a bit from the redhead’s request, the boy is not annoying & isn’t a threat to him. But, he didn't think that he would want to meet again.
J:I guess.
N:Cool. Same place?
J:Well yeah. Where else would we meet?
N:(shrugs) Just in case you’d change your mind or something. Well goodbye & see you later on in the night.
J:(nods) Goodbye
Kakyoin waves at the merman,getting on his bicycle & going back home. Jotaro raised his eyebrow while seeing him, he didn’t think he’d be curious & be curious to know him. It wasn’t a bad experience w/ the human but he sure did like talking a lot & he kinda enjoyed his company; Maybe w/ a few more visits he’ll learn to like him more. A few weeks later,the human & the merman grew to like each other including the merman growing to feel super comfortable towards him. He always gets excited when he hears his voice,when he sees him & when they get a small bit of skin ship. He’s talked about himself to Kakyoin the same way Kakyoin did when they first met. Kakyoin has shown him his art,he’s drawn him,taken snacks & the foods they eat. Jotaro fell in love w/ the dagashis, especially his mothers famous hot pots, who would’ve known that human food would be so delicious to the merman. Jotaro is his only friend, he wishes that he can bring him to his home but he is a merman, he can’t take him w/ him to his room & he wouldn’t want any of the villagers to come for Jotaro either. All he wants to do is show him his video games,teach him how to play it,feed him food,teach him how to draw,show him more of his drawings & read to him. But he can’t, maybe someday but who knows, as for right now they’ve been meeting at the same place,at the same time sometimes even during the day but it is not an everyday thing they do to meet in the day. Today Kakyoin puts on his swim trunks,grabs his bag,makes sure he brings lots of dagashis w/ him & lunch too. He gets on his bike to go see Jotaro,feeling super excited to see him. Kakyoin was low key & started to fall in love w/ the merman. Yes,he may not be fully human but his feelings for the merman grew. He is so interesting, mysterious, beautiful,smart,fun,tough,a sweetheart & is there for him when he needs him. It has been such a magical friendship that they've been having, he wants it to continue & who knows maybe have more w/ him. Kakyoin makes it to their usual spot, Kakyoin walks towards the edge throwing three rocks as a signal to Jotaro letting him know that it's him & that it's just him. Jotaro only shows his eyes, he spots the redhead & his eyes immediately sparkle.
N:Hi Jotaro!
J:Hey, Nori.
N:Well I'm here now.
J:(chuckles) I see. Are you in for a swim today w/ me?
N:Of course. I got my swim trunks & I put on lots of sunscreen too.
J: That's good nori.
N:Oh gosh,I am so excited. I have been thinking about this since last night & swimming w/ you is a dream. I brought snacks & lunch; got you some of my mom's hot pot too. Oh wow I am talking a lot, aren't I?
J:(smiles) yeah but I don't mind. I like hearing you talk honestly.
N:(blushes) Oh cool. Um, I'm ready now.
Jotaro reaches his hand out to Kakyoin, Kakyoin grabs Jotaro's webbed hand, it's cold against him but he never minds it. He steps in slowly, not wanting to slip on the rocks & taking his time. Jotaro waited patiently for the redhead to get in the water,he thought him being super careful is so cute but again he wouldn't want him to be hurt either. Once Kakyoin was in the water, Kakyoin held onto Jotaro & the two dived in. They swam together, Jotaro showing him the bottom of the ocean, different fishes & also being introduced to them too. Kakyoin got to pet dolphins,hold on to small fishes & look at coral reefs. Kakyoin was shocked by the beauty that was under the water. The ocean is indeed a very mysterious & scary place but it has its beauty. Kakyoin was the lucky one to see it w/ his merman best friend, he felt lucky to be next to him,be shown beautiful things & being told facts of each creature or shell. They end up going back to the surface, Kakyoin was helped by Jotaro, Kakyoin grabs the hot canteen filled w/ delicious soup. Jotaro's mouth is watering from the scent of the soup & what's in it too; the yosenabe is in a awase dashi (kombu + katsuobushi broth), it is packed w/ shiitake, shimeji mushrooms,shrimp,scallops,salmon filets,napa cabbage,chrysanthemum leaves,green onion, yuzu zest, and shichimi togarashi as it's topping. Kakyoin served a serving of white rice for him & Jotaro,he served them individual servings of the hot pot w/ enough meat & veggies. The two ate the soup in silence, enjoying the flavors. Jotaro felt like he was in heaven & he really loves human food. Beats the hell outta cold food that they eat under the sea but the hot pots are his favorite,he eats a lot of the soup & Kakyoin is glad that he brought enough for Jotaro to have seconds. Kakyoin brought some Anpan,Mochi,sweet Rice Crackers,ramune soda flavored candy,caramel cubes & Kakyoin's favorite melon pan. Jotaro loves dagashis now, he always asks Kakyoin to bring him more snacks especially the Anpan & caramel cubes. They chatted about random things,asking how they slept, about how Jotaro's singing is going & ECT. After they ate, Kakyoin brought Jotaro a bottle of pocari & Kakyoin bought himself a bottle of melon soda. All of the snacks,foods & drinks that were given to him; he felt so spoiled by Kakyoin but if Kakyoin was the merman & he was the human he would've done the same w/ him too. Jotaro has been wanting to speak to Kakyoin about something very important & now it is the right time.
J:Hey,Nori.
N:Yes, Jotaro?
J:Um I've been wanting to tell you… about something.
N:Ok,go ahead. I'm listening.
J:Well since we've been talking & hanging out w/ each other.
N:Yes.
J:Uh W-Well,I like you.
N:You… like me?
J:(nods) I do. I know it is odd cause I'm a merman & you're a human. But, my feelings have grown more for you & I really like you.
N: JoJo… I like you too.
J:You do?
N:Yes,of course. I don't care if you're a merman, I like you for you & I've never had feelings for anyone before.
J:(blushes) M-me neither.
N:(nods)
J:Can I kiss you?
N: Y-Yes! (Coughs) sorry, yes.
Jotaro leans in slowly,closing the gap between their lips & eventually the two kiss. They stayed still for a while,then slowly started moving their lips, Jotaro licked Kakyoin's bottom lip & Kakyoin knew what that meant. He opens his mouth, letting the merman have entrance, Jotaro graciously let his tongue in & the two french kissed. The kiss started innocently but then it got heated, sloppily making out,tasting each other's wet cavern & feeling each other's tongues intertwine. Kakyoin felt Jotaro's webbed hand land on his hip,rubbing it,going up to his waist & feeling it move higher. Kakyoin cups Jotaro's cheeks,kissing him more, wanting more of his tongue & lips. But Kakyoin broke the kiss, keeping it from getting anymore heated & doesn't want them to be caught unexpectedly. Although he really enjoyed it & wants more but not right now.
N:Oh JoJo
J:Th-that was my first kiss believe it or not.
N:Mines t-too.
J:For our first kiss,that was very amazing.
N:It was. I really loved it, Jotaro.
J:Me too. Nori, will you be my boyfriend?
N:Hell yeah. I mean we just had a hot make out,how can I not be your boyfriend.
J: You're right. I love you.
N:(giggles) I love you too, JoJo.
As this summer has become one of the best for Kakyoin, he has become so much happier being w/ the merman. He went to visit him,while his father went inside the boat to get something Jotaro would jump up from the water & the two would kiss or even send each other messages in a bottle. They fell in love w/ each other more & more; it became very intimate w/ the merman. It is such a beautiful relationship that Kakyoin feels sad to tell him some news. Summer is coming to an end, he really doesn't want it to end,for the first time he has had actual fun & he doesn't want it to end. He grabs his tote filled w/ snacks, he tells his mother his goodbye & gets on his bike. During the bike ride Kakyoin felt sadness take over him,he feels almost scared to tell Jotaro the news but he has to & the last thing he wants to do is make his boyfriend feel somewhat used or forgotten. He can't shake off the sad feeling, he makes it to their usual spot & does the same ol signal he does to let Jotaro know he has made it. Jotaro peeks out slowly, eyes light up when spotting the redhead, Kakyoin smiles at Jotaro & gets near the edge to kiss him. The two kiss, Jotaro cups Kakyoin's face, wanting more of the redhead's lips & feeling super happy to see him. They break the kiss, leaning onto each other's foreheads, Jotaro's tail swishing around & fins gracefully moving. Jotaro started to lead Kakyoin to the water, but Kakyoin did not budge & Jotaro found it odd of him to do that.
J:Hey babe. What's wrong?
N:Uh Jotaro.
J:Yes?
N:Um, we need to talk.
J:Oh. Okay then.
N:You didn't do anything wrong JoJo,if that's what you're thinking but I Uh-
J:You can tell me, Nori. I'm listening to you.
Jotaro grabs Kakyoin's hands showing him that it is okay & he wants him to feel comfortable.
N:I received a letter from a university that I signed up for months ago. & I've signed up for a few schools but I have gotten some letters.
J:Ok,go on.
N:I got accepted to one in the city.
J:So, does that mean that… you're leaving from here.
N:Well I haven't made up my mind yet. I was thinking about staying, helping my dad out & staying close to y-
J:No.
N:What? Why not?
J:B/c I don't want you to turn down an opportunity that one day you may regret.
N:(shakes his head) no, I wouldn't b/c I have you.
J:Nori, I love you so much.
N:I love you so much too.
J:But I want you to go.
N:But what about you? I don't wanna be away from you.
J:Trust me,I don't want you away from me but I want you to go to school & get your dream career.
N:What are you going to do?
J:Well (tucks Kakyoin's bang behind his ear) I'll go see you. I'll go swim in the city & stay at one of the beaches over there. When it's time for the holidays we come here to visit our families & stay closer together.
N:(smiles) true. I don't wanna leave you JoJo. I literally felt sad on my way here b/c I don't wanna go away.
J: Don't worry, love. We'll still stay together & still see each other. I don't want you to feel sad,I want you to feel happy that you have been accepted & not give up your dreams for me.
N:B-But-
J:Shh, be happy baby. I love you, we can still make it work no matter what. Now, come on, let's take a swim together. That should make you feel better.
N:(nods) ok.
Kakyoin takes off his sandals,his shirt & puts down his tote bag. He grabs onto Jotaro's hand, getting in the water & going on a swim w/ him; letting his worries go away & be happy w/ his boyfriend. After that day, Kakyoin listened to Jotaro,he took the opportunity & made up his mind to go to the university. Fall had come, Kakyoin packed his stuff, getting ready to go to Tokyo. Him & Jotaro hung out as much as they could,being even closer than ever & of course like every couple they've even explored each other, showing their love to each other going into more secluded areas where no one was around. Kakyoin didn't hesitate to cry on the last day, Jotaro hated seeing Kakyoin cry b/c the last thing he wants him to feel is sadness & he doesn't like his boyfriend to cry. They exchange some gifts w/ each other, Jotaro gave Kakyoin a seashell necklace w/ a J initial on it & Kakyoin has also given the merman a necklace but w/ beautiful glass turquoise beads w/ a star shaped charm w/ the letter N on it. Yes it was a clique thing to do but honestly it was needed & they both want pieces of each other along w/ them.
Kakyoin has gone to his university, he felt scared,lonely,sad & odd w/ out having Jotaro by his side. He wishes that the merman can turn into a full human,it just doesn't feel right w/ out him but he promised Jotaro that he'll do it for him & for himself too. Eventually Kakyoin got used to the school,he made a few friends,he went out more,he started to get out of his shell little by little. Kakyoin would go to the beach to visit Jotaro, he has moved to Shirahama beach & Jotaro actually quite likes the beach there. Kakyoin would go in the water, swim farther away from the public & would immediately feel Jotaro tickling his feet & grabbing his waist. They'd spend so much time together in the water,even catching up w/ each other & staying close as much as they can. Kakyoin never ever missed a day to visit his love, Jotaro always felt super happy whenever he saw him. It was always a fun time, Kakyoin wishes he could be on land but maybe just maybe he'll be able to walk on land, who knows. For right now being in the water w/ him was never bad,it just still fun & he loved being close to him.
***A few years later***
A(Aki):Mr Kujo, you have another commission for your portrait.
N:Really? How wonderful.
A:Have you finished the other commission from last week?
N:Almost.
A:Ms.Ishii called wondering when it'll be done.
N:Yes,let her know that she can pick it up this Friday. I just need to do a few more touch ups & it'll be ready for her to pick up.
A: Alright I let her know,sir.
N:Thank you.
(Knock, knock)
N:Come in!! (Turns around) Oh honey, hello.
J:Hey Nori, how's your commission going?
N: It's going well. I am almost done w/ this one & I just got a new one.
J: Really? That's amazing.
N:Thank you. How's work going w/ you, Jotaro?
J:Good actually. Just been collecting data, getting test samples from my friends down under & lately it's been good.
N: That's good. You will always be a merman even on land.
J:Of course. I mean I technically am even if I have legs now.
N:(giggles) true. You will always be a beautiful merman & forever mine.
J:Of course. I love you, my heart belongs to you.
N:My heart will always belong to you too. Is your mother doing well?
J:She is. Ever since she got her legs too,she has been wanting to go out & do human stuff like do groceries & clean.
N:(chuckles) how cute. I'm glad she is happy being a full human now.
J:Yeah. She has been all over her house, cleaning,cooking & wanting to be walking all the time.
N:I bet. Well I'm glad she is okay, how about your father?
J:Eh he's fine. Ever since he retired from touring he has been home, helping my mother around the house.
N: That's good love. Are you on your break right now?
J:Nope. I'm off now,I came here to see if you're done so we can go out to eat dinner.
N:Oh. Well now that you've brought that up, how about we go now.
J: Alright, but what about your painting?
N:I only have a few touch ups but I'll be done in a quickness w/ that & the owner won't come till Friday to pick it up anyways. It's barely Monday anyways.
J:Ok, let's go then.
N:(nods) mhmm,let's. Hey Jotaro.
J:Yes?
N:I love you.
