The hands clasped hers. As she looked into the yellow eyes. Fangs showing in delight to the monster that grumbled beside them.
"May I have this dance?" Luz was grinning like an idiot, as she put her hand out, Amity's intertwining. She couldn't remember the amount of spinning ans twirling and jumping. But she remembered looking into those eyes. Those eyes kept her grounded. She had gotten so used to seeing the yellow Iris's that melted into a lighter Amber around the rims. She had also realised... She fell in love with Amity Blight.
Placing the Glyph's down on the Abominations with a swipe, Amity sending forward and Luz gracefully catching her in her arms. Grom exploded with a burst, the warmth of Amity's breath against her neck. The Youngest Blight was warm, as Luz clung to her side.
"They did it!"
The crowns secured themselves around their heads, each girl dwelling on the fact they had just danced together. The blushing on her cheeks continued, hiding from Amity, as they were lifted into the air. Her heart had been beating in way more than above 1000, she was she was gonna pass out.
Getting home. Was the most disappointing part of it all, throwing the crown to the side as Eda and King congratulated her, only to be waved off.
It gradually got better with accepting the situation with her mom, the next day or two later she was face to face with the Blight she loved most. Not showing it obviously, she deeply knew Amity probably didn't like her back, but her stomach sunk at just not wanting to be friends but wanting to be more than.
"I've been talking for way too long—"
It would've been laughable, if Luz didn't find it adorable. Trying to act normal, hitting her with a metaphor. Which to her awkwardness she didn't understand, Luz couldn't help but just feel the need to ask her for help. Sure it was a long catch but she would do it right? Boscha really annoyed her that day.
The day consisted, of Boscha scribbling all over her. Which wasn't cool or comfortable in any way. She had pushe had pushed her friends way too hard and now she was alone. Deepest fear, being alone without her friends. She had become so dependent.
When Amity arrived with Willow, after she had been talking to Amity an hour or two before she tried calling forfeits, her heart did a leap. Maybe tumbling down the stairs doing cartwheels down a hill plummeting to the ground type leap. But she was so relieved.
Boscha and her mean girl group, that was previous to Amity, challenged them a good game. A few scores that made sense here and there, and that's when the fire glyph came, excitingly getting the paper from her pocket. She slammed it down on the ball throwing it.
The Abomination fist ripping through the ground, Amity raising her hands in the air giving a "Yeah!" Luz found herself staring and blushing before being headfirst brought into the game again.
Catching the ball, she saw Boscha make a sprint for her, only for Amity to dive in front. The girls giving out a whimper, the Latina was sure she heard a bone or two break.
At the time, she was grinning, placing the glyph down on the ground, Willow stepping onto it hard. The thorns and vines that looked like roots to a tree spinning, Willow scoring the ball through.
Happy and jumpy as rabbit, Luz ran to Willow jumping with her friend in the air laughing, they had won. Only for the score to go up by an infinite amount.
"All magic sports are like this! They invalidate all the efforts!"
Luz right there right then could've wiped that smirk off Boscha's face but she didn't need to. As the girls agreed on her side, moving from the mean girl to her side. The confidence in herself rose, with Boscha's defeat.
A whimper echoed, as Amity held her leg. Luz immediately coming to her damsel in pain's rescue. The leg was broken for sure.
"I can help carry you?-" Luz knew this was such a bold move, as she saw Amity panic. Panic? She panicked? Excuse me, she panicked!- The laugh caught her off guard, as Amity lightly tapped her kneepads.
"Who's Amity!?-"
"Andd Scoop." Being very self-aware, Luz was blushing that she now was carrying Amity Blight, she was surprisingly light. Her nerd arms must be getting stronger! Laughing at the thought. Carrying Amity to the healing coven's end of the school didn't take very long,
During those moments, it felt like a fever dream. Blushing to herself once again not letting Amity see, she was a mess on the inside. The what if questions, the does she love me, love me not? Picking those pedals off one by one was creating conflict in her own mind.
Amity dating her? Her.. Her?- Imagine.. Imagine...
The next few weeks were traumatising to say the least. Lilith's betrayal, edging so close to human realm stepping on the grass. But she went back for Eda. Never having the heart of a coward to leave the person that practically took her in and helped her greatly. Petrification was probably the most horrible way to go out.
Belos was a lot scarier than she thought h'd be. But in the end.. She had won.
Skipping to seeing Amity again.. Oh great, it's time to meet Mama Blight apparently. Two seconds into the school year again and she's already getting called to the office. Damn it must be a new record.
She was terrifying.
Amity sat there and did nothing, did Luz blame her, no? Was she concerned for her yet to be girlfr- Friend yes. With a mom like that of course she was going to be concerned. So getting the post card to go to the Blight Manor was like an invitation.
It wasn't Gus' and Willow's fault that they had gotten expelled from Hexside. Getting on with it... She had yet again gotten herself stuck in a situation nearly getting herself killed. Amity of course stepped in. Saving her by a close call, and breaking the ties that kept her down.
Probably being proudest yet-to-be-girlfriend-ever. It got even better in the few weeks. Of finding the diary and Amity kissing her on the cheek to finding herself in the tunnel of love, and asking Amity out on her first date. It was amazing. Like really amazing.
Skip further... Like even further..
Luz was now 16? Maybe... Amity was still her girlfriend, and she hadn't figured her way out. The Key had been lost ever since it was stolen and never found again. So she was stuck.
But it eased as days went on, with constant cuddles from her girlfriend, and constant love from family and friends she was standing. One night, it had gotten bad with waking up from the same nightmare of pacing a random hall that lead herself to a glass box.
Amity woke up with a jolt, as Luz shook her, suddenly putting a hand to her face to cup it.
"Hey, Hey, Shush, shushhh you'll be okay." God, her voice was so comforting. The tired state of her girlfriend made her feel bad, but she leaned into the touch desperately needing affection.
Amity lifted herself towards her lips, pecking her a small kiss, lovingly rubbing her head against Luz's. Her ears were twitching which either meant she was extremely happy, or angry and Luz was sure she wasn't angry.
"The hall.. The box.."
Luz rubbed her head, as Amity s hushed her quickly. "You need sleep for tomorrow, alright? Just sleep"
Dismissing the dream, Luz fell back onto the crook of Amity's neck, as she dozed off for yet another nightmare which didn't quite add up, and another.. And... Another... It felt like a warning, like something was coming..
"Luz wake up!" A Voice whispered in her ear, but it wasn't Amity's.
Ignoring that. Another week went by and another... And another... The days were becoming endless. From sitting in the living room, talking to Eda, attending Hexside for a while coming home with Amity, and cuddling for the rest of the day. She had fell into a cycle. Knowing mostly nothing was going to change.
Then came her 17th birthday.. Edging closer to Eighteen each year, it scared her. She had been missing for nearly four years now. Her mother must be in shambles.
The cake brought to her with the Glyph's on her the cake that were definitely designed by Willow since she was a good cook. Slightly raised her mood, not thinking about home too much. She quickly cut a slice for King, who gobbled it down like a champ. Then to Eda, then to everyone else within the room.
Even Hunter came for her birthday. He had brought her a sketchpad, and a comic from Azura, which she thought was cool.
Amity and Luz sitting at the table, before being attacked by cream pies hitting them in the face, Willow and Gus laughing their asses off like no tomorrow. As Luz was fazed for second getting up and throwing the little hit of whipped cream left at them.
Amity joining in afterwards, hitting Gus right in the face covering his uniform. Luz caught her girlfriend by the waist being bombarded by food, she brought her in for a kiss by pulling her in by the back of her neck. Gently but passionate, Amity leaned back and leaned forwards, the whipped cream off her lips going into Luz's.
"That tastes nice"
"Does it now?" Amity laughed, and threw what was left of the food at Gus and Willow.
Luz stepped back for a second, before looking down at her hands. Seeing them twitch as Amity and Willow chased each other, Hunter hopping out of the way, groaning at Amity with great deal. She felt cold and numb, water with ice-cubes being brought over her head,
She didn't know why, but she felt suddenly disconnected from the people surrounding her. They didn't feel real. Nothing about this felt real. She felt like her hands that were shaking within her eyes weren't real.
"Where are you..." The voice whispered again. Yet again it didn't sound like Amity, nor nobody else in the room. It sounded rather manly and deep. She felt an arm loosely hang around her catching her off guard in her thoughts. As Amity kissed her neck teasingly, the amount of chills at that moment sending a shiver down her spine.
The laugh that met her lips as they took a photo together didn't hide the suddenly puncture in her sense of reality.
Shoving it off. The day continued. But she was still stuck on the isles..
What age was she now?... 28? 29.. Luz held Amity's waist as they slow danced, swaying teasingly with her hips, she spun her around the ears twitching the entire time, not hiding her emotions very well.
"We're engaged."
"Yes we are," Luz felt the hands wrap around her smoothly, the smaller women below her didn't falter a smile, the dim lit room that was their living room, previously owned by the Blight's. She spun Amity around after pushing her off, her yet-to-be-wife gasping in defence.
"So rude, that's not how you treat your future wife," Amity purred playfully, as Luz held her arms a d swayed. Her eyes were just as warm as they were as when they were kids. She stared into them for probably longer than she should have. Yet again, the only thing keeping her grounded.
The eyes stared again, in silence. An awkward one, she blinked. Suddenly Amity's iris's were black, demon like almost, a smile that didn't match her planted on her face. Luz stumbled away, her head sharpening like a blade in pain, as she was brought back to a sense of reality.
The colours coming to her eyes a screeching of a girl, who sounded young infested her mind like the plague. A shaking hand, was placed on her head, trying to block out the noise. She could only sense black surrounding her.
"Hey sit up? Sit up, Light come on, sit up." Willow's voice carried her through the haze that was placed km her mind. She didn't know what to think as, she mindlessly stood up. Feeling the hands that once graced her feel like nothing. Had she passed out? Where was she... Amity, oh god what happened—
"Are you okay?" Amity's grip, made Luz's numb hands become movable again, she blushed deeply. As Willow and Gus stood in Coven Head cloaks, one with a blue laced fur coat the other having a green plant based chest-plate with a fur Cape.
Willow looked a lot older, than she actually was with that cloak on, Gus being the same even after growing loads as the years went on. Still having the same buzz cut from when they were fourteen, Willow kept her blackish hair with a grey streak down, after cutting it a few times.
"Um.. Um..-" Luz stumbled for words, her mind was blank. It had hit her again with a mind being hazy and non-functioning. Amity gave a look towards her best-friends, as she guided Luz to sit down. The fingers fiddle with the ring on her own.
Willow sighed. "Is this the PTSD thing you mentioned?"
Amity didn't know how to respond, she didn't even know what to do. Feeling helpless, she kept by her future-wives side.
Luz feeling herself falling for a second closing her eyes.
"I give a toast to the groom!" A voice yelled out jokingly.
Wait.. A groom?- Luz opened her eyes, she saw the banquet in front of her with Amity in a dress that was very like her Grom dress, admiring it for a second. She didn't know what just happened. One second she was blank dead to the universe the next. She was at a wedding. Her wedding.
The glasses all rung loud enough for her to cover her ears, Amity standing up pleading a hand, for her to stand up to. Luz realised she was in her Grom suit, which laced down to her loafers at the back, the nice black and purple fabric was extremely comfortable.
Everyone she had met, Eda who was looking extremely old, Lilith, Raine, Willow, Gus, even her enemies like Boscha and Hunter all stood raising a glass.
The warmth in her heart spread to her fingers, down to her toes and up through her chest. The dread of somehow ending up here lingered.
The noise making her space out. Losing sense with the people laughing around her. She could only hear her thoughts. She could only hear the screaming of the younger girl getting louder. She placed a hand to her head. Sitting down again, Amity guiding her again. She was always guiding her towards somewhere to sit down.
The surroundings that she wasn't aware of as people wished her a congratulations each. Alador Blight, coming up to her proudly, accepting the Noceda with arms, Luz took the hug, stumbling through the crowds. As Amity didn't follow her.
"Congratulations" Viney and Emira chimed.
"Oh Luz! Congratulations!" Eda tried bringing her in for a hug, only for Luz to panic and push her away.
Congratulations, Congratulations CONGRATULATIONS. Make it stop, the crowd became overwhelming. She didn't know how she was here, what she was doing. Nothing about these people felt organic, none of their friendly congratulations felt friendly.
Hunter greeted her with wine in his glass, only to notice the sickened look, as Luz was on the edge of the crowd in the Blight Manor Ballroom.
"Hey wait up! I'm not your brother in law for no reason!-"
Luz was confused when he said brother-in-law? What in the hell was he on about? When was she related to him. She was confused. Confused about everything. As she vomited onto the carpet, the contents spilling out of her guts onto the floor, as Hunter held back her little mullet.
"Luz? Light? Hey, look at me."
"You.. You're" Luz vomited again, the food that she had no idea she had eaten splattered onto the floor. Her stomach grumbled uncomfortably.
"Are you okay?" Hunter's suit had a little bit of vomit on it, as Luz suddenly felt bad, her grasps on emotions finally coming back.
"No... Obviously not..."
"I was like that too when I married Edric. The Blights always make you nervous." Hunter gave a chuckle, as Luz didn't give one back. She had a mislead expression.
"You married who?-"
"Edric.. Blight? You went to my wedding" Luz's look narrowed
"You planned the venue you got me the suit I'm wearing now? Do you not remember me pushing you into the water?" Hunter looked concerned as the bags under his eyes bunched with his skin horribly. How much sleep had he been getting? And also, WHEN THE HELL DID ANY OF THIS HAPPEN!?
"No... Sorry...?"
"Did Amity give you brain-damage? Did she kiss you too hard or something?"
Luz would've laughed if she wasn't fearing for her grip on reality right now. Amity came running up the stairs, her dress above her heels. She greeted Hunter with a smile, before her face went into a frown in deep concern.
Luz looked at her for second before looking into the eyes. The yellow iris's were a darker colour now with age. But they showed warmth. Warmth she couldn't quite capture. She still felt uneasy. As Hunter himself looked scared, she went along with it afterwards as Amity held her up. Coaxing sweet little encouragements.
But the feelings in her bones edged. As she was swirled on by the head.
"Mamí, I need help with Homework,"
"Go ask your mother," Luz let the words slip from her mouth lazily, even though she knew she didn't say them on her own accord. Looking herself up and down, she looked like a version in purple of Azura just Coven style. All the Covens patches on her coat.
"Mother," The Child with brown, chocolatey hair like her own, with Amber eyes, looked up to the stairs. As Amity came down elegantly. Luz couldn't believe her eyes at how beautiful one person could look. Her hair was completely auburn with hints of purple dye now. Her eyeliner being deeper, the scar on her nose not going unnoticed and god! Were those fangs long..
"What is it Phoebe?"
Luz watched, her eyes setting on Amity who looked perfectly fine. Again the creeping feeling of losing sense in everything came back. Her memories once again being cut short.
"Abomination stuff, I can't figure out these stupid formulas. When are going to use them anyway!" The child, that was supposedly hers and named Phoebe groaned. Reminding her, of herself.
"You chose Abominations, Phobes" Amity rubbed her back a little bit.
"And Bards, and Illusions, but, Abominations is so hard! And I don't wanna be the Noceda-Blight that embarrasses myself in front of everyone!"
Luz chuckled. Her body moving on its own. "Oh come on now. Pequeño, you won't fail anyone."
Amity nodded, soothing a hand over Phoebe's back. She looked over at Luz who seemed to have that look that usually got when she "zones out" but she hadn't gotten one in years.
"But what if I do! I'll be the clown of hexside."
Luz shook her head in reply with a comforting smile. It faltered, her insides squirming with guilt for no reason. The rising in her ears the deafening scream reaching an all time high, the girl sounded the same, and she sounded like she was in pain. Like she was desperately crying out for someone and if she could reach out—
Amity gripped her hand, bringing her back slightly. It more of a warning squeeze. Her eyes went nervously to Phoebe.
Phoebe exchanging a glance.
"Mamí?"
"She'll be alright dear. Why don't you call for William and August? Surely Auntie Willow and Uncle Gus wouldn't mind."
Amity guided Luz to the living room that was filled with chairs of luxury she never knew they could afford. The door slammed at Phoebe going out. The amount of noise hurting her ears.
Amity put her two hands to Luz's face. Making her look directly in her eyes. The yellow eyes that were once bright yellow were dimmed of light and happiness. She looked more depressing now. But Luz still found comfort in her eyes.
"Another blank episode?"
Luz's mouth opened without it meaning to.
"Jerbo said the emotional wounds that spared my brain, were gone. But they're back." Luz felt her hands move to pull Amity's hands down from her face. She wasn't doing this. It was like she was passenger in her own body seeing through a window.
"I don't think Emotional wounds can be cured cariño," Amity whispered.
Luz's eyes widened, Amity's eyes twitched black again. Reminding her of the memory. Her hands were shaking with each breath she took, taking her hands down from Amity, stumbling off the chair.
Again, met with a concerned glance at being so wary. "Luz?"
"You're not real." The realisation finally set in, she was sure this wasn't a delusion. She was sure this wasn't Amity.
"Luz, I'm real, o-okay?" Amity chuckled nervously. Again the hand she craved reached out. Her eyes pleaded, Luz denying it, nearly pushing her away.
"No, NO!- I- You aren't real none of this is real, maybe the Grom and you asking me out part?! But this, this is fake..." Luz felt the sharp pain in her chain the second it slipped, falling to the ground. She held her chest, gasping for air. She felt her eyes close.
Again, she was standing in front of Amity. The purple hair looking brand new and not withered. Luz hands shook, she had the lump in her throat. Where was she? Why did Amity look younger. Why did this feel familiar...
The Owl House was behind Amity, as she held her hands staring into the Yellow eyes. Looking away, she saw the smirk on her face.
"Amity Blight.." No, No, No. Don't say it Luz! Of course you want to keep your girlfriend! But don't say yes. DON'T SAY YES YOU IDIOT-
"Do you wanna go out with me?"
Luz cringed internally. But no reply came. This wasn't how it was supposed to go. Hooty wasn't even here causing a ruckus, no ground was being pulled to shape a love heart. Eda wasn't even here, King with his powers weren't even here. This wasn't how it was supposed to go.
Amity cackled.
Luz tensing, she stepped back.
"Luz, Luz, Luz.." She had the malicious smirk on face while chuckling, cupping her cheek gently, too gentle. "You really thought.. That you were worthy of all that love? That I would love you?"
"Amit-" Struggling, she stepped backwards again. Amity pulling herby the collar, her hands on her waist.
"And to think you were easily manipulated?"
"Stop-" Luz let a tear run down her face, this wasn't how this was supposed to go. Her heart was being clawed at and ripped apart and she really meant ripped apart. She felt the sharp nails sink into her face.
"Luz wake up."
The voice wasn't even a yell. It was a whisper. Luz eyes blurred with tears. See this wasn't real! It wasn't real.. It wasn't real what she was saying wasn't real. But it still seeped red blood in the inside.
"Why did you think everyone became friends with you? It was like the human realm they'll care for a while and leave like they always do."
Luz remembered the few friends she made in the human realm, and it was true.
"They don't want you. Luz, they never did, I never did. Willow never did. Gus never did, Eda never even wanted you in the first place. Your own mother didn't want you."
Luz felt her arms go limp, arms also going frozen. She fell from Amity's grip. The witch above her not looking too impressed, crouching down to her level.
"And you Pathetically, fell for a girl who never loved you."
Luz shook sobbing, she was being pulled by a force she didn't see. Slipping on nothing being dragged. She whimpered screaming out gripping the grass. It pulled and pulled but she wasn't going to give up.
Amity stepped near her hand, the folded arms making Luz start to plead.
"Bye Luz, you lived for longer than I expected, especially being stabbed."
Luz's eyes widened, "AMITY-" her hand was stamped on, as she fell backwards being sucked into a warp.
"Wake up, Wake up.. Wake up!-"
She could feel her body being shook. Her eyes opened to Amity having her hands on a sword. Luz felt the blood drip from her mouth. Amity's eyes widened, her own mouth quivering.
"A-Amity?-"
Luz looked down. The sword into her chest. Her girlfriend's hands wielding it. They held a staring contest at each other. The tears dripping from her face, speechless. It didn't hurt. Surprisingly. The only thing that hurt was the deepening gaze, and Amity's tears dropping into Luz's blood.
Belos lingered over them.
"It seems Miss Blight, followed my advice. She ended her fear."
