(A/N Please Don't expect this story to be good, I wrote this like 2-3 Years ago, when I was just starting to get into Writing)
"Potter" Draco had just finished teasing Harry, Ron, and Hermione though Pansy keeps trying to get Draco to love her, but he always refuses, because he loves somebody else. 'Most likely not' Draco thought, 'She probably likes that ginger kid' he kept arguing with himself if she would like him or not.
"Harry are you sure about this" Hermione asked
"Yes, I am 'Mione" Harry replied. They had come up with a plan the Hermione had to go out with...Draco Malfoy, and for him...well let’s just say he wouldn't mind one little bit. The full plan was that Hermione had to go out with Draco to get his trust, once she has done that, she would ask about the Death Eaters, his father, Voldemort, and his plan. Hermione isn't feeling good about his plan though it was the only one they had.
"Hermione's right Harry, what if it fails?" Ron wondered
"That’s the thing, it won't" Harry answered.
"...No Pansy" Pansy had been getting on Draco's nerves
"For the last time I am NOT going out with you" Draco said angrily
"But Draco I love you and you love me, but you won't admit it. "She replied.
"No, I don't love you, so leave me alone" Draco started to get annoyed with Pansy.
"And for your information, I love someone else, and she is nothing like you, she's Smart, talented and beautiful, you’re not." He added. Draco walked out of the Slytherin Common Room and thought out loud to himself
"Maybe if I go for a walk, I can calm down"
He walked past the Library and saw Hermione, she had gone there to read, study for the upcoming owls and calm down.
'Maybe I can try to make friends with them, I can start with Granger' Draco thought to himself before walking in. Hermione didn't notice him until he sat down. There was an awkward silence between the two.
"So, do you live here or something Granger" Draco said breaking the silence and teasing her that she was always in the Library, she ignored him and replied,
"Nice to see you too ferret" 'wait he didn't call me a mudblood?’ She thought
"What, no 'Mudblood' today ferret. He flinched at the word but didn't know why.
"Trying to be nice, What's wrong with that?" He asked,
"Didn't ever think that would come out of your mouth" She mumbled under her breathe.
"What was that?" Draco wondered,
"Nothing, nothing's wrong with being nice" she replied. They talked for another two hours not realizing the time (12:30)
Harry and Ron went looking for Hermione because they were worried about her and because they hadn't seen her since dinner.
“Draco?" Hermione wanted to ask him something.
"yeah?" he answered
"I was wondering, why do you always tease Harry, Ron and me? I mean you always call me a 'mudblood', you go on at Ron for being a Wesley and Harry about his scar." she asked
"Do you want me to be honest?"
"Yes"
"Okay. The reason is that I just want to make my father proud of me being in Slytherin. And I'm not lying by the way." Hermione could tell he wasn't lying from the look in his grey eyes.
"I know" She told him.
"what?" he asked,
"I believe you, about proving yourself to him, wanting to make him proud of you" She answered
"I know exactly what you mean too. I have to get perfect marks on all my subjects, or I can't get a job." She told him.
"Oh, and the reason I came over was to see if we could be...." Draco sighed
"Friends, I mean I don't care what my father thinks anymore and I ju-" Hermione cut him short "okay.... ferret"
"Really? what’s with the 'ferret' thing" Draco asked
"Just getting you back for every time you called me a 'mudblood' "she answered. Draco once again flinched at the word but this time he understood why and accidently said
“Well you’re not a mudblood, I just…” Draco sighed just before finishing.
"I just try to impress my mates” Draco admitted
“You know prove that I’m like my father, but I don’t want to be like him anymore, I really want proper friends now” He added. Hermione felt bad for him
“So what? You’re changing yourself or something?” Hermione asked
“pretty much” Draco answered, He looked at the time
“1:00 jeez time does fly by when you’re having fun, I guess we should go huh…” Draco said sadly, he really wanted to continue the conversation they were having. Draco and Hermione still talked while they were walking to the Gryffindor Common Room and Hermione walked through the painting and said goodbye to Draco and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek then left to go into the girls’ dorm and got a glimpse of Draco blushing before the door painting closed on him.
