Work Text:
Gaven and Elaine were on a date, after arriving in Gaven’s car. Elaine told Gaven she needed to talk to him about something the previous day. Gaven agreed and they settled on meeting for a picnic.
While setting up the picnic Gaven smiled and made small jokes trying to ease some tension. While Elaine was silent and stared at Gaven with a fire in her eyes. She pulled her purse closer to her and subtly felt the piece of metal through the layers. Gaven didn’t notice and sat down taking a bite of chicken, chewing happily.
“So” she finally said “Who’s Janice” Gaven tensed letting out a startled “what”
“I knew you were ‘figuring things out’ whatever that means but you said you felt good about this…about US” she continued. Gaven opened his mouth to say something but Elaine spoke again.
“Do you like her more than me?”
Gaven stood up,putting his plate of half eaten chicken on the blanket and huffed. While shaking his head he said “I’m not doing this with you right now”
He turned around with the intention of going back to his car. Not noticing Elaine swiftly getting the gun out of her purse, and getting up.
She didn’t think twice as she shot him in the back of his head. His body falling and tripping on the bunched up blanket they placed on the grass not to long ago. He was dead. Elaine sat back down and took a sip of wine as a single tear fell from her eye. She blinked it away and scoffed.
“Men.”
She went into his car, after grabbing his keys, and took one last look at the area. It was a beautiful open field filled with daises. ‘Tragic’ she thought.
Not wasting anymore time she she drove to an abandoned parking lot near her house. She fixed her red lipstick and wiped her eyes once more, walking to the sidewalk where she flagged down a taxi. Looking out the window Elaine watched the town fly by and received a call from her roommate. “El! Where are you?” Elaine ignored the question and said “I did..the craziest thing...”
