Chapter Text
Emily sat crouched down on a hill top looking down on to the town below the group. Her daggers that hung around her waist, shined in the sunlight. Her red hair was hastily braided and she wore a black leather jacket and black jeans.
“Do you think this is the next area that needs cleansing?” Seb said while looking through his bag. He pulled out a spell book and a glass jar. He muttered something under his breath and the liquids turned a light red. He flipped his dark brown hair out of his eyes and looked up. He then looked at the other Key Holders. He the nodded, confirming his own question.
“This is the place?” Emmet asked, his dark hand placed on his gun. The town has looked like it was literally falling apart. “It is kind of run down.”
Hana adjusted her backpack, which held her spell book and her wizards wand, before she turned to Emmet and said: “And what was so grand about the other places this twisted game has sent us?”
Zach, who was standing behind the Japanese girl, was the next to speak. “Overwhelming negativity.”
“Touché.” Hana responded.
“Well, according to my read…” Seth said softly, while gesturing to the glass jar. “This fits it to a tee.”
If possible his voice filled with more empathy, “what could have happened to cause this.”
The five of teens fiddled with the keys around their necks.
“Well,” Emily said standing up. “Let’s get started before the Negative Ones arrive.”
Hana takes out her wand and waved it around: “Locata!”
A red light pointed to a hospital.
——————————————————
“Steve!” Eddie whisper shouted. “I’m fine, I’m fine…”
Steve, who was currently having a mild panic attack was drawn to Eddie’s voice. “I know. It’s just…we could have lost you…”
‘I could have lost you.’ Goes unsaid, but still heard.
“And then Max…” Steve continued.
“She will be fine.” Eddie says grabbing Steve’s hand from his bed. “Why don’t you go get a drink of water and calm down?”
The younger man nodded his head and started out of the hospital room after giving one Eddie’s hand a quick squeeze.
As Steve walks down the hall and notices a group of five teens standing the corner before heading in different directions. He was heading down the same hall as the boy with a satchel. He had long dark brown hair that was pinned down on one side.
Steve made his way to water fountain and the boy turned down another hall.
He took a long drink of water, letting the cool liquid calm his nerves. Despite defeating Vecna, Steve was still stressed beyond belief. He was confused and worried.
But unfortunately, he did not have time to contemplate and work through his worries. Because at the end of the hall was a tall, pale man. He wore torn up clothing.
“Can I help you?” Steve said. The old man just stared at him.
The man’s mouth the unhinged, revealing a mouth full of sharp teeth.
“Shit.”
With that Steve starts running down the hall. The creature then starts running after him.
As he made a sharp turn towards Eddie’s room, the mystery boy ran into him.
“Oomph.” The boy said as fell down. He looked up at Steve, but before he can say anything he sees the monster catching up.
Steve grabs the boy and takes off running to Eddie’s room.
As soon as both boys enter the room Steve slams the door shut.
“Whoa! Steve what is wrong!” Eddie shouts, slightly panicked by his friends actions.
“There is fucking MONSTER chasing us!” Steve shouts frantically.
The boy then pulls out a little vile and pour its contents at the bottom of the door. Eddie noticed a pentagram hanging from his neck, it stuck out like sore thumb with wit soft colours led clothing and seemly gentle demeanor.
“It is a monster of sorts. My friends and I call them the Negatives.” The boy. “That particular one is known as a Braineater.”
“A what?” Eddie questions voice filled with anxiety as the boy opens the door.
The boy then starts muttering something under his breath and as soon as he finishes the Braineater is now standing in front of the three of them.
The monster then lunged forward, only to be stopped by an invisible force field. And all of a sudden the pentagram hanging from the boy’s neck made sense.
“You’re…you’re a witch!?” It came out more like a question then a statement.
“Kinda.” He said as he puts the vile back in his bag, and pulling out a pager. “Now let me get us som-“
The three males than hear a thump on the ground and they turn to see the Braineater’s head on the ground.
“You all looked like you could use some help.” A tall brown skinned boy said as he lowered his sword. “Also I found Marty and Naomi!”
A boy, who Eddie and Steve assume is Marty, pokes his head through the door. His pale face had a bit of a green tinge to it.
“We found-“ he gagged. “Two girls and a-“ another gag. “Heart Taker.”
“Did you bring it’s…” the witch grunts as he pulls a tooth from the Braineater.
A girl with braids and a bejeweled headband rounded the corner holding a bag. She is presumably Naomi.
“Yes, we have it’s hand.” She said as she pulls Robin and Nancy into view. “And we brought guests!”
Nancy looked very shaken up and very disheveled.
“I think we are going to have to have a talk.” Steve said as the witch took the bag from Naomi. “Eddie and Max are both getting discharged today. So maybe tomorrow afternoon.”
“That is a good idea. I’m Sebastian by the way.” The witch, Sebastian, said. “Do you know what happened here by any chance. The monsters you saw feed on negative energy. So if there are already two different species it must have been very bad.”
The four people from Hawkins looked at each other with sad, worried and scared eyes as they recalled the tragedies that had occurred over the past years.
“Well I guess you will have to ask the kids tomorrow.”
