Chapter 1: Chapter 1: Returning Home

Chapter Text

Rolling down the windows of her grey '02 Toyota Camry, driving down the familiar back roads lined with full trees and gardens, red hair wipes around her head as she fiddles with the radio trying to find one of the few good stations. Finally settling on a station playing Rehab by Amy Winehouse and sitting back to enjoy the perfect weather she starts to feel the worry fully sink in. She was always one to worry, way more than was necessary. It couldn't be helped, in her line of work worrying made you Canciones, which kept you alive.

Finally pulling into the dirt driveway and gathering the few things she brought with her, she takes a deep breath before stepping out and making the small trek up to the porch and through the front door. Before even having time to set her bags down a greeting was called out.

"What the hell took ya so long?" Giving an airy giggle she calls back out.

"I got here as fast as I could Bobby, you didn't exactly give me much of a notice, or reason." Dropping her bag by the door and following the voice she steps into the Library. Books laid all over the room in stacks around the room, placed in an order only Bobby himself knew.

"Oh shut it, you were long overdue for a visit anyway." Bobby poked back, knowing that no matter what one call from him and she would head home to him. She would do anything she could to help him. He didn't call her often for help, so she never minded dropping what she was doing to come as soon as he called, even if she had to leave everything behind, at least she was only 2 hrs away.

"You know I was gonna swing by once this job was done. Luckily I did most of the fieldwork I had to get done, so I made a couple of calls and someone agreed to take the job off my hands.” Shrugging, she makes her way to the man she considered family with a smile, sitting on the desk in front of him.

"Sorry I pulled you away on short notice, I wouldn't have if it wasn't important."

"What's going on Bobby? You have me pretty worried and thinking of the worst."

"I knew if I told you over the phone you wouldn't have come. Some friends of mine need your help, Donny." Looking at him her face falls. If she needs to physically be here and he won't speak about it over the phone, it's the type of help she doesn't normally give to people Bobby is friends with.

"Bobby," she sighs, "helping friends of yours comes with a lot of risks."

"Again, if it wasn't important I wouldn't have asked. Keeping you safe is my job kid." Getting up Bobby places a hand on her shoulder. "Plus, they asked for you themselves."

"Who asked for me, Bobby? "

"John Winchester.”
