Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

Long ago, God told all the animals he was throwing a banquet the next day and not to be late. The mischievous rat told his neighbor, the cat, that the banquet was the day after tomorrow. So, the next day, all the animals lined up for the banquet, and the rat rode there all the way on the cow’s back. All the animals had fun, except for the cat, who was at home sleeping and dreaming for a banquet that would never come. so then the cat fought the rat every time he saw him so he would be accepted with the others.

The well known story of the 13 zodiac animals. What isn’t know is the story of the Panda. The panda was one of the animals to get the invitation. It was far too shy to join the banquet and watched from the outside. The panda watched as every night the animals would feast with God. One faithful night the panda worked up the courage to try and join in on the banquet, just be turned around at the door.

“Please.” The panda begged. “I was too shy before.”

“You should’ve come before and this wouldn’t have happened.” God said, closing the door in the panda’s face.

The panda watched from the window as the banquet continued. Night after night the panda would try to join the banquet just to be turned away at the door. One night, the panda was thirsty, but had already been turned away. The panda snuck through a window in search for water when it came across a bowl full of liquid. The panda took a drink from the bowl not realizing what it was.

“No!” God yelled, noticing the panda. “This is for my guests!” It was too late though. Just like the other animals, the panda was tied to God for all time to come.

“I’m sorry God. I was just so thirsty.” The panda apologized, but neither God nor the other animals cared to hear it.

“You’ll never be invited to my banquet.” God said, kicking the panda out once again, leaving the panda alone in the cold destined to watch from the outside forever.
