Chapter Text
Shang Quinghua was settled at his work table; a gentle breeze filtered in through the window catching mousy locks to flutter against his face. He was immensely focused on his task, idle with a nimble movement of his wrist he worked his paintbrush with lithe fingers, there was a tender accuracy over the parchment, making sure to not let the ink blot so the calligraphy would be clear to the eye. He was always at his most calm when writing.
Behind him was the usual milling about of other workers and cultivators which served as no distraction, however there was one person in particular who was of great fondness to Shang Quinghua; Mobei Jun. The other mans expression was tense and he was clearly lost in thought about something, ears tipped back and tail flicking wildly back and forth. It just so happened to catch his attention so he turned around tilting his head abruptly asking. “Something the matter, my king?”
Abruptly the other turned, his expression softening. “Nothings the matter.”
Shang Quinghua didn’t buy it, quirking a brow he turned more squarely to face the other. “Then what’s got you pacing around so much?” He looked intently up at the alpha, his own ears perked his tail comfortably swaying slowly behind him, he felt incredibly at ease today perhaps even more so than was normal. He paid that thought no mind and continued on. “If there’s something the matter why don’t you just say so?”
Mobei Jun was left to stare at the other blinking slowly before grumbling. “It’s nothing an omega should concern themselves with, dont worry yourself Quinghua.” With that he turned to go but Shang Quinghua settled his brush down and pulled himself to his feet to follow after reaching out to grab the other by the sleeve. Tugging on it as he queries. “Are you entirely sure that’s wise for you to say my king? You shouldn’t say something that could be misconstrued when so many others might hear.” Unable to hide his mischievous grin his tail beat itself gently against the others thigh as they walked alongside each other.
Mobei Jun’s expression grew more heated, he turned and grab the others slender wrist pushing it up against the nearest wall. He quieted his voice and whispered against his ear.
“Deez nuts.”
